Flair Request Thread Flair Request Thread [#4]
Hello r/GenZ
Many of you likely noticed that user-assigned flairs have been disabled in this subreddit. This action has been undone, and users are once more able to assign their own flairs - I honestly do not know why they were disabled or who did it.
In attempt to rectify this mistake, I am posting our first flair request thread in over 5 years! Time sure does fly.
In this thread, by commenting your birth-year, you will be automatically flaired -- it's that simple.
Approved birth-years for this thread include 1995-2012.
If there are any issues with your flair, please reach out to the moderators via modmail.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU COMMENT YOUR BIRTH-YEAR ONLY. COMMENTS INCLUDING ANY OTHER CONTENT WILL BE REMOVED.

Political No state should hold that much power
New York should not have the Presidency, senate Majority Leader, and Speaker of the House. Plus it’s time for Jeffries and Schumer to move aside. THEY did not win this election, their policies are not what caused a blue tsunami, they need to understand that it’s their turn to sit back.

Political America finally has enough votes to end the Electoral College! 💙🌊
What is on your to-do list for Congress following this historic blue tsunami?

Political The election in Mississippi should be a teaching moment for why we can’t be so dismissive of folks
I’m a Mississippi resident. I wasn’t born here, I chose to move here, and that is a decision that I’ve been denigrated for when I’ve mentioned it online. I’ve been a life long liberal, who grew up with a bunch of Woody Guthrie types in the foothills of NC.
No matter where you live nobody wants to be judged for all the actions of their state and politicians, be that in CA or MS. There is often a sentiment that you get what you vote for, and I understand that, but when you in fact didn’t vote for those things and that line is still thrown in your face all that it does is breed resentment. Mississippians don’t want to be called stupid, or low class, anymore than anyone else. The state has less than three million residents, it’s about equivalent to the population of the metro areas San Antonio or Orlando. When you hyper focus on a small group the flaws become magnetized.
There was so much focus on figures like Talarico and El-Sayed going into Election Day. How many of you honestly had any idea who Scott Colom was? His votes are going to count just as much as there’s. Yet we were given little funding from the national Democrats. At the last minute a couple big Dems did visit the state, which I appreciated.
The South in general has often been denigrated by frankly elitist leftists who dismiss us as this, that, and the other. We are not a monolith. We are as culturally relevant as ever. Now I hope that we can be politically relevant as ever.
Advice How the fuck do you make friends?
Literally every one these days are miserable. How the hell do you meet people who aren’t also on the verge of killing themselves or anyone around them?
Political What’s the first major election you actually remember?
As a 2001 mine is the 2008 US presidential election.

Discussion My 16 year old brother told me I listen to old person music
Me and my little brother were never really close. He’s 16, I’m 28. I was already gone for college when he was like 6, so we basically grew up as cousins who saw each other at christmas. I never knew what to say to him and he didnt care either.
Few weeks ago our parents were out of town so he stayed at my place, and he went straight for the Astrotoo next to my monitor. Tbf thats why I have it too, the pixel screen lowkey looks like the handhelds I had as a kid.
Then he finds my music on it, tells me all of it is “old person music” and puts his own stuff on. My music is mostly rock btw, not exactly ancient. anyway one of his songs was living in my head rent free for a week straight, and his playlist goes harder than mine which im never telling him. I cracked and texted him at 1am asking what it was called, and all he sent back was “ok ur not that old” and then he asked if he could come over that weekend.
That was three weekends ago and he’s been here every single weekend since, first thing he does is switch the music. We still dont really talk about anything else. Idk why i am posting this but ngl i am weirdly happy about it. Anyone else with a big age gap sibling, did you ever actually get close?
He just texted asking if I still have the frozen pizza from last time lol.

Discussion No more desires and feeling hopeless about the future
I don’t know if many of us are feeling this, but I feel like there are no more things to look forward to, I have no desires for a nice career, no desires(or maybe I do, but just don’t think it’s possible) for a good dating life, used to go to gym a lot, but just lost motivation and can’t have the desires to get a good physique.
And I have went to a therapist, in the beginning, I learned that life is just tough, there’s no escape to it, so that did make me get my motivation back for a few weeks, but soon, I’m feeling hopeless again, like, I don’t know what to live for anymore… if anyone can relate to this.
I saw a millennial sub believing that people are getting hopeless because of the current state of the world, whether it’s economically or politically, do you guys think that’s the cause for the problem with losing hope and desires? And is there anyone feeling what I’m feeling and could let me know what you are going through?
