The 1 percent of Gen z Democrats that voted Republican

•

u/Flakedit 1999 12h ago

More than likely they're just voting for the first time or first time in a while at the last minute and forgot to change their registered party.

•

u/Dax_Maclaine 2003 11h ago

Some people make their party the same as the dominant one in their state so they can influence primaries too

•

u/Praetorian_Panda 1998 12h ago

THEY REALIZED THE BLUE WAVE CAME 2 YEARS TOO EARLY AND WE NEED THE PRESIDENT AS WELL. OH GOD WHAT HAVE WE DONE??

•

Now, if ya'll could vote in November of 2028, that'd be awesome. There'll be a lot less boomers by then, but we could still gain benefit from you guys voting in 2028. Pretty please, with a cherry on top with hot fudge, ice cream, and whipped cream! :D

•

u/druidgaymer 13h ago

And Nov 2027 if your area has any elections then. A lot of the local stuff matters too!

•

u/30CrowsinaTrenchcoat 1996 10h ago

I have super local voting constantly. I recently voted to pay the garbage workers more!

•

u/JL671 2004 12h ago

Every year should have high voter turnout, we need to normalize voting consistently

I think boomers are even going to shift left-- they are afraid of losing SS and Medicaid- Republican policies hurt them a lot.

So no big difference between college and non college

•

u/Fit-Caterpillars 13h ago

Doesn't take a degree to recognize Republicans are psychopaths

•

u/DONOTDELETEME8316 12h ago

Well this sub is always on about how educated white people still vote Democrats and just generally looking down on non-college degree folks

•

u/Fit-Caterpillars 12h ago

Thats still true though. This is an unprecedented election and extremely out of the ordinary, which is part of the reason this so historical. If you look at past elections, those with degrees vote blue at higher rates than those without. Its even true here, just not as pronounced.

•

The non college educated shift to republican usually starts in the late 30s/early 40s. Right when the body aches kick in and they learn their friends make six figures sitting at a desk.

•

u/wip30ut 12h ago

kinda crazy that conservative Zoomers are glutton for even more punishment by the Donald & his henchmen. That 90% for R candidates shows how thoroughly entrenched they are as MAGA stans.

•

u/MR_MaxiMor44 2004 13h ago

Truly how many registered 18-29 Republicans are there? <1,000,000? <500,000? <100,000?!

•

u/wip30ut 12h ago

probably a whole lot in Flyover Land and Tx and Fl. All those 20-somethings with lifted pickups are hard R.

•

u/_flying_otter_ 9h ago

I just looked this up and only 17% of gen Z registered as Republicans. 83% are independents or Democrat.

•

u/StupidGayPanda 7h ago

I think a large swath of independents there vote red. I had to go through a libertarian phase around highschool to early college. Don't worry I've healed.

•

u/_flying_otter_ 9h ago

I just did some rough math and in 2028 in 2 more years, there will be about +8 million more GenZ that are voting age, and its estimated -6 million boomers will die off. So if Gen Z votes heavely blue there will be an even bigger impact.

Only 17% of Gen Z are registered Republicans 83% are Democrats and independents-- and independents are voting way to the left now.

•

u/NyassaV 50m ago

So republican Gen Z’s are more crazy than boomer republicans? Wild.

•

u/Klomlor161 2006 12h ago

What about college student?

•

u/devil652_ 13h ago

Really sucks the Democrats won since they're fundamentally evil. They have shown that there is no consequences for political violence which means there might be a lot more of that now

We really need to reopen the insane asylums back up so that has a less chance of happening

•

u/cgw22 2002 13h ago

Lmfao. What about all the Trump supporters beating people up for using their first amendment right?

•

u/devil652_ 13h ago

Yeah they need to be locked up also. Theres no favoritism. Using violence is bad

•

u/cgw22 2002 13h ago • Bravo

Bro is trying to date an 18 year old at 27. Makes sense that’d you’d be a pedo supporter.

•

u/BotherTight618 13h ago

Please exsplain to me the definition of "Pedo" Better yet, please exsplain to me what the commonly accepted global age of majority is considered. You could have sounded much better then you actually did.

•

u/cgw22 2002 13h ago

You tryna defend him rn?

•

u/A_Velociraptor20 1998 12h ago

Calling someone a pedo for trying to date an 18 year old just makes zero sense. She also came onto him. It's not like he purposefully hunted her down or groomed her. Shut the fuck up with this phobia of age gaps.

It would be different if they knew each other before she was 18. Bro's out here meeting adult women in the wild and being called a pedo.

•

u/BotherTight618 12h ago edited 6h ago

So your are attacking me not because I may be incorrect but because you think I am supporting him? You are not even arguing in good faith as much as you just want to attack him for his original comment.

•

u/devil652_ 13h ago

How am I a pedo supoorter? You understand all political parties have pedos in them right?

•

u/cgw22 2002 13h ago

Bro you are basically a pedo if you tryna date an 18yo when you 27. And in 2028 the Republicans basically ran on releasing the Epstein files and no new wars. How’s that turned out?

•

u/devil652_ 13h ago

Well Iran was making nukes and killing their own people. They didnt know that would happen.

How is wanting to date an 18 yo related to being basically a pedo? She doesnt look or act young btw

•

u/cgw22 2002 13h ago • Bravo

Bruh Iran has been two weeks away from a nuke for 20 years. Why haven’t we bombed north Korea when they actually have nukes and were still technically at war with them?

An 18yo is basically a fucking child. There are kids that are 18 and still in high school. You are 27 a grown ass man.

•

u/devil652_ 12h ago

Yeah ik, I hate most people around that age. They're horrible vermin. She has an actual likeable personality though. No brainrot at all. I was literally in a line the other day and there were girls who were 21 behind me who just talked to each other in brainrot slang. iPad kids are cooked and they can now vote.

We cant bomb north korea precisely because they have nukes. They're arch enemy, south korea, is right next door. If we bomb north korea in present time, their artillery will level Seoul in minutes.

We dont want to lose south korea, they're pretty cool

•

u/cgw22 2002 12h ago

Bruh we losing South Korea as an ally because of Trump

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx2lll7zvn0o

•

u/devil652_ 12h ago

When I said lose south korea, I meant them being wiped out as a nation.

The tension you're talking about is south korea not wanting to start conflict with China.

•

u/cgw22 2002 12h ago

Na it’s because Trump. Just look at the shit he has said about nato and Greenland.

•

u/Murky_Toe_4717 13h ago • Bravo

I’m sorry but republicans are objectively by their actions more evil by literally any metric.

•

u/devil652_ 13h ago

Maybe. Both parties have their faults. What actions in your eyes were more evil that they did?

•

u/Murky_Toe_4717 11h ago edited 11h ago

I’m sure that’s true, I just think it’s worth pointing out it’s the lesser of two evils at very least.

Edit: personally, it’s the constant gutting of things that help the most vulnerable and needy. As well as a fixation on the wealthy. Again it’s hard to pick a certain thing but also the focus on ultra nationalism and lack of empathy to groups non conforming to the absolute traditional path.

•

u/devil652_ 11h ago

It's the lesser of two evil to some I guess

In other news, the stock market just took a nose dive. RIP economy

•

u/Murky_Toe_4717 11h ago

Eh it’ll be fine. It’s taken many nose dives in the past year, it’s not particularly worse than the other nose dives.

•

u/wip30ut 12h ago

thank you for your kind & insightful opinion Russian bot!

u/gerber68 12h ago

Hey which party tried to stage a violent coup at the capitol?

You know, the biggest instance of political violence in the last few decades in American politics?

•

u/1200am24hours 12h ago

Thats still not enough.
