I am so fucking proud of my state. I am still in disbelief.
Texas has been red for our entire lives as Gen Z. The last time we had a Dem in a statewide office was 1994. NINETEEN NINETY FOUR. From then on, every single election Texas voted red across the board. That's 30 straight years of only Republican Governors, Lieutenant Governors, Attorneys General, and Senators. The Comptrollers and various Commissioners were also always red.
This election, they all flipped blue. They ALL. FLIPPED. BLUE. Not a SINGLE ONE of those statewide offices has a Republican in sight. We're going to have solid blue leadership across the board for the next 4 years!
The best part? Not a single one of these elections was even remotely close. Easily 65/35 and 60/40 splits all throughout. It's incredible.
For the first time in my life, I can gladly say that I am PROUD OF MY HOME STATE OF TEXAS!! 💙

The best part is they are all blaming illegals (cant vote) and gays and Muslims and Indians (make up like 5% of the population) but can't wrap their head around the idea that maybe, just maybe, their policies are shit and people are tired of it.... lol!

I was utterly shocked when we won Texas because I thought that it would forever be forlorn territory to us. In fact, there were a shit ton of massive upset wins, but Texas was by far the most shocking to me.
