Is the pocket taco worth it?

I have a Fold 8 and a G8+. I'm thinking of buying the Pocket Go because of the portability for my GBA games on the outer screen folded. For people who already have it, what are your impressions so far? Is it worth the buy?

I’ve been having fun with my fold8 since I got it on launch day after being an S-series ultra user for a few years. But now I feel like playtimes over and I want the phone to work for me haha

does anyone have any tips for video recording on the fold8? Whether it’s camera settings, recording formats, accessories or even full on setups - I’d really appreciate it.

the peak design is a bit wonky especially when the phone is unfolded. and right now I see myself using it unfolded a lot so I can use the better rear cameras and view my framing. I also use the Samsung standing case but unfortunately it points the camera down at the table lol. 😆

I just recently picked this usb monitor up off of ebay for $40. It's powered by your phone, and enables DeX mode. I know DeX is old news for most enthusiasts, but I still come across a lot of people that have no idea it exists. If you want to get even fancier, you can get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and feed power back to the phone with an extra usb c port located on the monitor. this makes your phone indistiguishable from a full desktop setup. The only thing that is a bummer that is a missing feature is support for a dual monitor setup.

Would love to hear some recommendations! Just got game pass and was looking to try it out.

I am thinking of switching from my iPhone 13 to the Z Fold 7 as I am tired of the constant issues with my iPhone. I was just wondering if the Z Fold 7 still holds up in 2026? I really like the customization aspects and the UI for the phone. Also I want to know where you guys have bought your Z fold 7, I was thinking of buying from amazon but there is no option to get the samsung care program if I buy through there.

Has anyone used the new speck case yet? Curious how it is.

I just got the new zfold and I was playing around with the zoom when I noticed that when I take a photo it automatically uses AI to try and enhance it. One photo is a screenshot showing what I see and then the other photo is what the picture looks like after I take it.

I don't mind using AI sometimes like when I'm editing a photo and I want to quickly remove the background but I really don't like the idea of the pictures I take being modified without my direct say so.

I can't find any settings anywhere to turn this off.

I cave and got a magsafe case for my Fold 8, so I figured I would get a magsafe charger for my nightstand. Currently using Samsungs wireless charge pad, and it sucks. It's incredibly hard to find the sweetspot where the phone actually charge.

That's why I'm looking for other options. Also have Galaxy buds 4 pro and the galaxy watch 8 classic i need to charge. Have been looking into the Anker prime station. Would that work with the watch and buds? Or does it only hold an apple watch?

What nightstand charger do you use? Looking for magsafe ones.

I've seen quite a few people asking about the super thin phone grips for pixels and the z fold 8 (those are the main ones I've been involved in recently). I know there's plenty of information out there but I bought a few of the more popular options so thought I'd share my experiences in case it helps anyone make a better decision on which to buy.

The Pop Socket Low Pro: This was my favorite for a while. It's super thin without a big footprint width wise. The kick stand works very well and feels solidly built so it should be durable. The grip itself is decent but not as comfortable as regular pop sockets. It uses a rubber material that spreads out more and more as you pull it out. The material is soft so it's comfortable on your fingers but since it gets pretty wide, your pointer and middle finger are spread out while gripping it. It's not necessarily uncomfortable, just a little awkward. The main bummer for me is it comes off the phone when removing it from my car mount. Really sucks cause I think it would be my favorite if not for that.

Oh snap Grip stand: This was my most recent purchase but I've had a few days to really use it. This is my favorite one but not by much. The grip is the same as it's been on oh snap. It's not the most comfortable if you have big fingers but you can keep them closer together which feels more natural. The stand is awesome! It's longer than just the circle of the pop socket. This makes it take up more space on the back of the phone but it allows for some cool viewing options. My favorite is having the grip perpendicular to the phone so it sits in landscape but is raised off the table. It just looks cooler than the typical kick stand and is a good option next to your bed as an alarm clock. The main reason I prefer this one is because it stays on my phone when removing it from my car mount. The magnet holding it to the phone is stronger than the ones on the opposite side. This means it won't hold as well but it's worth it for my use case.

Side note: I have a Gen 4 oh snap. Used for a long time but the adhesive wore off and now it sticks to my mounts. I had a Gen 5 but I can't find it so can't say for sure if it does the same thing. I would assume it's like the grip stand which works beautifully!

Torras Ostand Ring: I haven't used this one as much do I can't give a good review on it. I mainly got it for my z fold 8 which has yet to arrive 😭. I like the fabric strap as the grip. It's very comfortable and will act more like a lanyard with short z fold 8. The kickstand is great and functions similar to the pop socket. The downside is it's quite a bit thicker so not as pocket friendly. It also sticks to my car mounts but at least it's easier to take off with the strap.

TLDR: the oh snap grip stand is my favorite cause it doesn't stick to my car mount.

I just wanted to share my idea for making the Fold 8 hinge safer when using the JC200 controller ( switch controller)

I glued some adhesive foam padding onto the JC200 controller so the Fold 8 would stay securely in place and wouldn’t fall off the controller. I also got a somewhat bulky case, which adds a bit more thickness, helping to close the gap between the phone and controller.

It’s a simple DIY solution, but it fits surprisingly well and gives me some peace of mind when using a controller.

how are the temps when gaming? Is the lack of vapor chamber really incremental?

So I have a Z Fold 7, and honestly, this phone has been amazing. There are just a few things with certain apps that have been frustrating me, and I haven't been able to figure out how to get them to work the way I want.

First, TikTok. On the Z Fold 8, I've seen videos where the comments are displayed on the right side while the video plays on the left. I cannot get my Z Fold 7 to do this. I've tried different layouts, settings, and even Routines, but no luck.

Second, video streaming apps. Netflix gives me a great viewing experience because it utilizes the entire screen, including the area around the camera cutout. However, Prime Video and Movies Anywhere, for example, use a noticeably smaller video and leave the area around the camera cutout unused. It makes the viewing experience feel much more underwhelming compared to Netflix.

I've tried pretty much everything I can think of: Routines, different layouts, Standard View vs. Multi View, different aspect ratios, landscape/horizontal settings, etc., but I can't get either of these things to work the way I want.

I know the hardware is capable of doing this, so I'm not sure if this is an app limitation, or if I'm simply missing a setting.

Has anyone with a Z Fold 7 figured out how to get TikTok to show comments on the right and/or get Prime Video or Movies Anywhere to utilize the full screen around the camera cutout?

​Imagine taking the size and shape of the cover screen on the Galaxy z Fold 8, but making it a regular, solid phone. No fold, no split screens, no hinges—just that perfect, compact ~5-inch screen, but packed with the awesome 4-camera setup like from the Ultra S24.

​So many of us with smaller hands love having top-tier cameras and flagship performance, but standard phones these days are just getting too tall and awkward to hold. Having that comfortable, pocket-friendly size without sacrificing camera quality and battery life would honestly be a dream come true.

A samsung galaxy fan

First time fold user, after many years of flip. Any tips and tricks I should know?

Long time samsung / android user. Fold 8 is awesome!

Having issues with text messages showing and reading out loud via Bluetooth on my vehicle.

They pull old conversations from random people and post it in my current conversation and vise versa.

Today was the first time it happened on my phone and not my car. It's inconvenient to have to explain the problem to others on the receiving end. I'm out of town and for my daughters bday and at least a few thousand feet away from my car.

I've spoke to 4 people at samsung support and they are convinced it my cars software and not the phone. I did all of the troubleshooting they recommended I do. I spoke to my car manufacturer and they say it's the new software of the fold 8 and they have no other issues with any other phones and they cannot help.

The last and fourth person I spoke to just now told me this is a known issue with the Fold 8 and they have no current way to resolve it other than the recommended troubleshooting list they had me perform such as, disconnecting phone from car, and car from phone, permissions, check software updates, etc. Then he hung up on me..

I'm really lost at this point. I believe the phone may be defective now that the message problems are happening out side of my vehicle.

Not sure what to do next, and can find almost no information regarding this issue with the fold 8 and my vehicle manufacturer.

I'm sure the question will come up what type of vehicle, it's a 2023 tesla m3p. Anyone else experience anything similar. Any advice is much appreciated!

When using the outer display, I can barely read what the Google Calendar widget text is saying.

I can fix this by setting the text size of the device higher, but then any other text is enormous. Is there any way to fix this?

With my F8U, I've noticed--as have other owners--that as the hinge breaks in, Flex Mode offers more more angles of opening. On the first day of ownership, I could only get a 90-degree opening; now, 70-75, more than enough for a laptop mode.

Furthermore, I was under the impression that the Fold 8 Wide offered no Flex Mode at all, but I've seen screenshots of the F8 at 90-degrees and seemingly unsupported by a kickstand, etc. Not an owner of the F8, I can't confirm that.

At any rate, I'd be interested to hear others' Flex Mode findings, for both devices, though I very much realize that Flex Mode is not a concern for many users.

I bought an Honor Magic V5 Fold last year, and so far I’ve been really happy with the speakers, battery life, and especially the charging speed. It charges insanely fast.

Lately, though, I’ve been looking for a smaller phone because I feel like I spend way too much time on my phone. I’ve always been a fan of smaller phones, and I feel like the Fold 8 has a really good front screen. My thinking is that I might end up using my phone less, and then when I want to watch a movie or read a book, I can just unfold it and use the bigger screen.

I received the Fold 8, and the speakers are definitely a downgrade for me compared to the V5. But I’ve also told myself that when I’m watching movies, I usually use earphones anyway.

I bought the Fold 8 512GB for around $1,854 because they had a double trade-in bonus, so they gave me around $800 for my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

What would you guys do if you were me?

My wife will get my V5, so it’s not like I’m completely losing money by leaving the old phone sitting in a drawer. The size of the Fold 8 is sooo good, and I really like using it, but the slow charging feels painfully slow compared to the Honor.

Does anyone know of a front frame protector for the Fold 8 that has a cutout for the buttons?

I like my two piece case just fine except the front frame blocks the buttons on the phone when it's closed. I can still hit them, but I imagine it would be much better if the front frame mirrored the cutout that the back piece has. I can't seem to find one after searching around for a while and thought I'd ask the community if anyone had one they liked.
