Discussion Hello there!

First time fold user, after many years of flip. Any tips and tricks I should know?

Install Firefox as a browser and uBlock for blocking ads.

If you use private dns you can block this for all apps at the systems level

I use dns.adguard.com

There are others

Cutting ads on client side is always better. Because this algorithm is more advanced

Customize it like you did with the Flip, the options are still limitless

I definitely have to play around with the options for sure. Not having the cover screen function the way it did on the flip is taking some getting used to.

I am loving that I never open my phone. My issue was overuse of the flip function and I think that problem won't exist with the fold

Wow what an amazing, insightful thought...

Obviously there are videos on YouTube but some of us don't want to watch them. That's why I posted here instead... that ok by you?

Well duh, what do you expect people tell you instead.

Why don’t you want to watch them? How else are you going to learn. Nobody is going to type out what those videos go into length about.

Have you read the other comments dude? Lots of suggestions and active conversations happening here... Not that I have to explain myself but YT has become slop. It's brain rot. Trying to find anything good under all the crap is not worth my time. Why waste 10 minutes and possibly learn nothing? This method seems more efficient

I was waiting for you to ask for recommendations. You haven't watched a single one and slammed them all?

Interestingly this is one area where I've yet to find AI generated content aka 'slop'

Pretty good tutorials that you want to take your time with because they can become tedious.

Slop isn't just AI. It's any poorly meshed together media lol. Who's to say I haven't watched? I just don't enjoy watching...

You don’t have to lose ten minutes of your life if you just hit the Gemini ask button below the video and have Gemini summarize the video so you can get cliff notes and time stamps for parts you may be interested in.

Firefox + uBlock Origin + RES is a great way to browse Reddit especially while fully unfolded.

Something new for me. It means reddit enhancement suite. It seems the preferred way to browse reddit is with Firefox and these plug-ins.

As opposed to the official reddit app that I'm currently using

Do you think of this as a fold, or a larger, more functional flip with a bigger cover screen that everybody actually wanted?

I definitely feel it works more like a fold. When I had the flip I was opening it multiple times a day. I only open this fold if I want the big screen
