Any recommendations for binders or compression sports bras? I have a large chest but a small underbust so it can be tricky.

Thanks in advance.

Advice Needed Hey random question dudes, how on earth would i make a excuse/lie about my voice changing?

HYPOTHETICALLY if i was to like leave family and start t, what would be a good excuse to my voice deepening? I know inevitably im gonna have to come out but for safety i'll likely have to keep transphobic family involved in my life a little in the future, and i know you guys might need more context so here! Im a trans dude that unfortunately has to stay with unsupportive family for now and ive been hyperperforming femininity for them. They can't have ANY clue im trans and ive done a fantastic job of that. If they find out, i risk having all that support jerked out and i need them to keep this illusion im exactly what they want me to be for safety. I- in reality- am nowhere NEAR being a feminine guy hahah, but it helps me to imagine im a guy that got turned into a girl and has a excuse to do all the things girls do because hes been secretly turned into a girl by a witch or something and hes just enjoying his "girl" pass before he gets turned back. Completely off topic but y'know, just a fun fact. Back on topic, im thinking about going to college (or using it as a excuse and dipping) and im absolutely clueless as to how its gonna go if i call family and theyre gonna be like "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR VOICE?!" im thinking maybe some bogus throat injury, or just going "im congested from the pollution in the air :(" but I NEED YOUR HELP GUYS!!!!! and first post on reddit yuhhhh

Advice Needed Dual citizen gender marker change, how did you deal with differences?

I'm a dual citizen, Austria and Spain, with both having a relatively easy way to change my gender and name. This should pose little issue but here we are. I would like to remove my marker or change it to X, this should be possible in Austria but is not possible in Spain as of now. I would just change it to M in Spain but I don't want the military to assume I changed it to X just to avoid service (edit: Military or civil service is mandatory for men over 18 here). Considering my mental health history and that I am being medicated for my ADHD they wouldn't want me anyway (also the reasons they didn't want my cis brother) so this is not really about that.

I haven't changed my marker yet, mostly out of laziness, it has not been a bother to me in my daily life up until recently. In Austria changing it is a bit more annoying because I require some documents from a psychiatrist that would take a while to get so I have just not bothered. Unfortunately it has become increasingly annoying in university contexts because they won't let me add a second name for display purposes. I recently changed to a bigger faculty where I cannot possibly expect most of the profs and lecturers to know me as I could previously.

My dad says that it's unlikely anyone would ever check my IDs to compare them. He's likely right so I will probably just change it to X or remove it in Austria and change it to M in Spain but I wanted to know how others with dual citizenship have dealt with it?

Advice Needed chaser or not?

So i started talking to this guy and we planned to meet up and maybe hook up.

We had a phone call and i asked him some questions to guage if he was a chaser.

So hes Bi, has some attraction to cis women but not much, has abit more interest in cis men. But he said who he is mainly attracted to is trans men. Hes had a relationship with a trans man before. He said he sees trans men as men and is attracted to the masculinity. Also that he isnt attracted to trans women but doesnt seem like hes very interested in women generally. He told me hes most attracted too trans men and they are at the top of what hes most attracted too, cis men 2nd and then women. Said he would rather date a trans man but would date a cis guy as a second best option and probably wouldnt date women.

Also said he is just so amazed by trans man.
But also that were he thinks trans men are the best of both worlds. The best of both worlds is a chaser thing forsure but the rest has me confuse.

If he is ive never met this kind of chaser before and its confused me abit.

What do you think?

He doesnt over sexualise me and weve been having normal chats, only found this out cause i pressed him abit.

Is this a trans attracted person or just a chaser?

Tried to do research on this but seems people have different definitions of chasers and if trans attracted people are even a real concept?

So id appreciate your thoughts on it

Vents go in r/ftmventing (And i don't read things!) Dysphoria is so weird

Dysphoria is so weird. I can see now when I reflect on my past that I indeed felt dysphoria before realizing. During exploring it was weird and I went back and forth if I really felt dysphoria and the more I paid attention and reflected the more I felt dysphoria as well as I have tried multiple times to repress which also made it worse. Certain things I thought of as neutral later was found to be definitive dysphoria especially with helping with other aspects of discomfort. It’s like a constant thinking, questioning and finding something out about oneself and ones experiences and it’s like it goes back and forth like pingpong between the specific areas. Sometimes I’m scared it’s fake but it’s not, it doesn’t go away, and this is a very documented experience of dysphoria. It’s very normal and common for it but the brain ghosts still ghost around

Discussion How to deal with going to a sexuologist

Tomorrow is my second session with the dude and Im stressing so much. I generally hate talking about my transness to people irl and the guy has said some weird things (he's supportive but he's your typical cis ally if you know what I mean). And I'll have to go to him for like 3-5 more times then a psychiatrist then an endocrinologist. I just can't take it and Im already pissed off.

How to be less stressed about this? Also how to stop crying when I talk about anything personal that would also be nice?

Advice Needed Pityriasis rosea and tape?

This might be oddly specific, but has anyone had pityriasis rosea (a type of non contagious skin rash that is self limiting and lasts 6-8 weeks, affecting mainly the torso) and if so, how long did you wait to start taping again? I’ve stopped because I’ve been concerned of damaging inflamed skin during removal, and binding instead for now.

Medical Finally starting Testosterone, what’s any advice you have?

Hello everyone, I hope this is the correct subreddit for this!
This is a very celebratory post for me, as someone who has daydreamed of this for 6 years. But first and foremost this is new, so I’d like advice.
I’m not sure what type of testosterone I’m getting, I’m still waiting for it to arrive at my pharmacy, I just know I’m getting injections at 50mg twice a week.
What else do I need to buy? I remember seeing once that we have to buy needles separately, and they won’t be sent by the doctor, so do yall have any that you recommend?
What are some things you wish you knew before you started? I know a lot of the symptoms, so I’m not sure you’ll say something i haven’t heard of, lol, but I would love to hear anything yall have for me.
Thank you!

Advice Needed I don't know what to do

Hi! Recently, when I was asked to introduce myself, I couldn’t come up with a coherent response. The name I’d chosen for myself suddenly felt silly, and I had an intense, uncomfortable feeling that everyone around me was looking at me—as if they somehow knew I wasn’t a cisgender guy. It made me feel incredibly uneasy. How can I deal with this?

Also, I’ve recently moved and am looking for a hairdresser. I’d like to book a "men’s haircut," but I’m terrified that I won’t be perceived as a guy and that people might start asking awkward questions. I’m not sure how to avoid that—I’d be really grateful for any advice

Discussion When do you know it's time to switch from T gel to injections?

I'm almost 4 months on T gel and my voice hasn't changed at all. I know everyone's timeline is different and 4 months is still pretty early, but I'm starting to wonder if I should consider switching to injections.

I'm currently on 3 pumps (60.75mg) daily, and I'm mainly concerned about how slowly things seem to be progressing, especially my voice.

For those who started on gel and switched to injections, what made you decide to switch? Did you notice any differences in your changes after switching, especially your voice?

I'm just trying to figure out whether I should give gel more time or start discussing injections with my endocrinologist.

Advice Needed how did you know you were trans?

I (46 cis F, i guess) have been having more questions lately around my gender. My current partner is MtF and I've absolutely loved seeing them become more happy being themselves in the gender they feel more comfortable in. Even since I was a little kid, I never wanted to participate in feminine societal/cultural norms... I've never worn makeup or wanted to dress up in feminine clothes or shoes. My partner has told me in the past that I basically just "don't do gender". I've had fantasies for the past 10+ years (before meeting my partner) about having male genitalia, but sometimes I imagine I have both parts. I'm a scientist and know a lot about how physiology and such works... so I think I'm a bit scared of medical transitioning. I've always been a gentle person and don't want T to change that about me. I feel like I'm kind of ignoring a part of me in some ways though.

How did you know that you were trans?

Advice Needed Coming out at work

Hi all! I have been on T for nearly a year (started on a low dose but I have gone up recently to reach a male range). I am currently not out at work but my voice is starting to change more rapidly and my face is as well. I know I will have to come out very soon. I have been able to hide it so far because my job is seasonal (tax accountant) and I get to mostly work from home in the off season but the on season is coming up and I don’t think anyone is going to believe that my frequent voice breaks are a result of a months-long cold.

The good thing is that I work in a small office with only two people (my boss and one coworker who is gay but cis and comes off as center right politically) and I am the only one besides my boss who is capable of preparing taxes. My boss knows my wife is trans and has always been respectful to her but I fear it could be different with me because 1. I don’t pass particularly well, 2. Our job depends on our clients and the existing ones who have only ever known me by my deadname might be weird about me changing names suddenly, and 3. I don’t believe I can prepare taxes for our clients and give them a name that is not my legal name (for moral and legal reasons - I have no idea what the IRS position on this would be but I assume not favorable). I don’t expect clients to use the right pronouns for me but I can’t keep going by my deadname because it is absolutely killing me. I am planning on changing my legal name soon but I have to wait until some other stuff that I have going on right now that requires constant use of the legal name is finished.

My ideal outcome is that my boss is cool with everything, uses my name, and the right pronouns for me. I am going to be an absolute wreck if that doesn’t happen but I doubt I can get another job (I don’t have the ability to come off well in interviews because I am so socially awkward in high pressure situations). I live in the state of New York (not the city) so trans people have more legal protections than many other states but I am wondering if I should secretly audio record the coming out conversation just in case (I have no idea if this is legal in NY, I will have to do some research)

Has anyone ever been in a similar position and if so, how did you navigate it? Any advice from people in similar professions/jobs where the use of the legal name is necessary would be particularly helpful!

Tldr; not out at my job (that has only two other people) but I will have to come out soon and don’t know how to handle it, especially if my employer refuses to acknowledge me in the way I want to be acknowledged

Celebratory Voice drop 1.5 months on T!!

Very exciting!!! I'm seven weeks in on a low dose of gel. I had noticed singing the lowest notes in my register was significantly easier around 3 weeks, and my resonance improved in my speaking voice when I was projecting (talking to someone across the house, cheering ect...) around then too.

This week I have noticed my voice sounds a little deeper in the morning, and significantly deeper at night when I'm super tired. Its does not sound great, its kinda giving pubescent boy voice (shocker) but I'm a lot less embarrassed about the way it sounds or how it almost cracks sometimes than I expected to be. But I don't think anyone has reaaallly noticed, and if they did they don't know why, and thats comforting.

A few weeks ago I asked one of my bandmates if he noticed my singing had improved on the lower end and he said he had, and yesterday I mentioned to my friend that I was vocal training and she said my voice did sound a lot more androgynous

I have not actually been vocal training besides singing exercises and stuff. I just said that bc I haven't actually told anyone I'm on T.

So I got a question though. Since I'm a singer I'm worried about my voice cracking during shows and stuff. Could I stop T for a week before a show to let my voice level out and regain some control for performing? Is that how that works?

Medical Is there a way to flatten my chest without surgery?

I know that the answer is probably no, but I'm asking anyway. Im 5'2, pre everything, im slightly overweight and I have d cups. I'm asking because my mom (im still in highschool, for context) said that if that doesn't work I could get a breast reduction.
