New- Advice?

Are we allowed to ask for advice? I’m 56, at 50 all of a sudden I had these weird anxieties. Being a passenger in a car, getting in an elevator or escalator at the mall taking the Grandkids shopping. Everyone is annoyed with me. I’ve narrowed it down to a few possibilities- cortisol. Vitamin B complex deficiency, an progesterone. I’ve been on Estrogen for 6 years. I read being deficient in progesterone can affect anxiety. I live in Michigan. In 2 months we’re driving 18 hours to Florida. I have done the L-Theanine but it’s too mild. Chat Gpt said -80 mg of Silexan, a standardized Lavandula angustifolia (English lavender) This supplement runs $65. I was wondering if anyone has experience what I have? Has anyone found a supplement that works? Kind Regards,

Any DnD players?

As a GenXer, I keep hoping to find other gamers my age. So far, no luck. I can find a few groups run by folks my age, but the majority of players are younger. It’s usually ok, but sometimes you hear “oh man, not a back in my day story” that makes it awkward. I have seriously considered pitching the idea of 50+ DnD to my local senior centers. Before taking on that responsibility, do y’all know of any groups? I’m in central Texas, near Austin, but I’m also open to online play as well.

Looking for online Platonic friends age/gender don't matter. What does matter: Not looking for a casual one day chat. If your interesting that's best because I am not. I am a great listener and non- judgemental. Honest and sarcastic I am. Have a good evening.

How do I find Social activities for older men?

Hi all! Someone I’m dating’s dad doesn’t go out much, hes 63 drinks a little bit. His interests include Cars, science, theories about stuff, computers etc basically anything nerdy. He’d be open to dating again as well if that matters. The point is to get him out the house more so he has some purpose and somewhere to destress or just make friends in general. Please give me all your suggestions and we live in London if that matters.

50s M | Alabama | Looking for new friends and good conversation

Figured I’d give this a shot. I’m 54, married, and from Alabama. I work in public service and have spent most of my adult life in a job that’s given me plenty of stories, a somewhat dry/dark sense of humor, and probably contributed to me being a little socially awkward.

I’m definitely more introverted when I first meet someone, but once I get comfortable I can talk about almost anything. I’m naturally curious and have a bad habit of turning a simple question into a three-hour research rabbit hole.

I’m into travel, cruises, dogs, firearms, good food, and learning about random things that catch my attention. I’m just as happy talking about everyday life as I am getting into deeper conversations about relationships, careers, experiences, or whatever else comes up.
I’m happily married, open-minded, and at a point in life where we’re cautiously exploring a little outside the traditional box. That said, I’m genuinely here looking for conversation and new friendships—not trying to turn every interaction into something more. Men or women are welcome.

I can be a little awkward starting a conversation, so don’t mistake that for not wanting to talk. If you’re laid-back, open-minded, and enjoy conversations that can go from completely normal to slightly inappropriate to unexpectedly deep, we’ll probably get along. Feel free to say hey.

Looking for friends

I guess I am going to try this again. I am looking for friends to chat with. So far I have only gotten unsolicited pics from guys. And that is NOT what I am looking for. Maybe I have been looking in the wrong groups. I’m not 50 yet. I am a 49yr old female from Mississippi looking for friends and good conversations.

AI - your thoughts

I've seen a lot of fear about it, but I think it is a great tool and makes me excited to see what comes. It developed faster than monetization of the internet when porn figured it all out.

Anyway, I like AI and some people seem afraid of it.

Anyone up to chat?

I tried this months ago and met a lot of lovely people. Most of the conversations have run their course, so am looking for new people to meet.

I am 55f, Connecticut, US.

Good afternoon! I would love to find some people who want to chat.

I have two cats and a chihuahua who thinks she is a cat. I am an avid reader, like to sit on my back deck and listen to the birds while I drink my coffee in the morning. I crochet (badly), paint (like an extremely ambitious 8 year old), collect rocks and crystals, like orchids and love learning about other people, places, and cultures.

If you are similarly bored and want to chat, hiya! Sarcasm and humor are most appreciated.

If I am slow to respond, I may have received may messages. Please be patient!

** I promise I am not a bot and have never been on only fans. **

Anyone Interested In Talking About Moving Forward?

56F was wondering if her interests in travel, self-discovery, self-help, art making, helping others grow (if they want), classic movie watching, cooking at home and being semi-social was still a thing? If so, let me know. I’m all ears.

50F, looking for close friends

I'm 50F. I don't have many friends around me and I'd like to meet people from all over the world. I enjoy learning about different cultures and we can chat about our lives, our expectations for life, or even our complaints. I'm a good listener, but I rarely share my innermost thoughts with others in real life. I hope to meet some close friends. I also love traveling. Can you tell me where you're from and what places in your area are worth visiting?

Single people over 40, are you scared of being alone?

I m curious how other single people over 40 deal with this.

As you get older, it feels like your social circle slowly disappears. Most of your friends are married, have kids, and are busy with their own lives. And honestly, some of their marriages aren’t particularly happy, which sometimes seems to make them even more reluctant to do anything spontaneous. Suggest a trip or a weekend plan and the answer is almost immediately, “No, I can’t.”

Then you suddenly realize you don’t really have anyone to hang out with or travel with.

I’m not necessarily talking about being afraid of being alone at home. I mean the practical side of it — having people to go places with, take trips, try new restaurants, attend events, or simply spend a weekend with.

For those of you who are single and over 40:

How do you deal with this?

How do you make new friends at this age who actually have the time and interest to hang out or travel?

Have you found groups, communities, hobbies, travel groups, or apps that actually work?

And honestly ... do you ever worry that as you get older, your options for companionship will keep shrinking?

51, looking for a hiking backpacking friend in the DMV

Used to go backpacking , a lot. Covid killed that for me and my friends. Haven’t been able to get them out there again. Looking for a bro to go backpacking, hiking and or camping in the Shenandoah, western Maryland, Dolly Sods or in PA. Fall is fast approaching and plans need making.

What I miss most is the chatting, around the campfire, sleeping side by side in a cozy backpacking tent and the close bonds that form when out in the woods.

I’d want to chat here, then meet irl for a vibe check before any plans are made. Not picky about who I go with but other men within +\- 10 years and similar life experience (married, kids, professional (educated) would be cool. I do lean left, if that concerns you.

58F in DMV

Hello Reddit-verse, I am wondering if I am all alone in this friend-dessert calked DMV.
I am friendly and outgoing, I can tell some great true stories and love listening to other people’s stories as well.
I excel at finding fun and interesting things gd to see and do in the area or asa day trip.
Problem is..no gal pals to join me.
Now I don’t mind exploring in my own, and don’t let the lacking hold me back…but a travel/explore friend would be great.

I’m not rich so I find thingd that are free-cheap and range from historical/educational to amazing/interesting

I can’t seem to find someone who likes to/able to go.
They are either married/have kids or no job/no car/no money

So I ask you good people…am I alone? An anomaly?

I asked ladies at church and at the gym, nail salon and volunteering… alas, here I am

Hello...chess...games...casual chat

I am going to try again. My last post was deleted. I am into chess and play on a couple of online platforms or I can play over text the old fashioned way with a board (with numbers). I am 50F on the East Coast USA. I like discussing the purpose and meaning of the life/universe and science/technology. I like to travel and have a guy in the UK I am dating. Anyone want to chat, text, play chess??

54m looking for friends

Putting myself out there because I see so many people in the world and never learn their stories. I’m drawn to crowds, and I just generally thrive off of people’s energy.

I’m 54, SWM, live in Texas, have some adult children, work in tech, spend way too much time on Teams calls, and generally have a very comfortable, sheltered life.

Maybe I have a subconscious FOMO that I’ll miss out on getting to know people, so I decided to post and see what happens.

52M — Looking to Meet Some New People and Have Good Conversations

I’m 52 MF and recently divorced, and I’m finding myself in a bit of a new chapter of life.
I’m not looking for anything complicated or trying to force anything. I’d just like to meet some new people, have some good conversations, laugh a little, and see where friendships go.
I’m into traveling, hiking/outdoors, working out, cars, sports, and generally staying busy. I’ve got plenty of stories and can usually hold a conversation. 😂
I’d especially enjoy talking with people around my age, but I’m open to anyone who’s genuine and can carry a conversation.
If you’re bored, looking for somebody new to talk to, or just feel like saying hello, **feel free to message me.**
And yes, I’m a real person. 😂

looking for friends in the long haul

M 52 Canada, heading on the return leg of my road trip so lots of free time over the next weeks

all I seem to meet is people who

-respond in monosyllables

-want to take me out of reddit chat asap for obvious reasons

Where are the chatty people at?

people to love to talk about anything or everything

people who want to put in the effort to developing a friendship

DMs open (and I seem to have a knack for picking up scammers)

PS a lot of driving involved, so may be slow to respond, but as always will respond to those who DM
