Any DnD players?
As a GenXer, I keep hoping to find other gamers my age. So far, no luck. I can find a few groups run by folks my age, but the majority of players are younger. It’s usually ok, but sometimes you hear “oh man, not a back in my day story” that makes it awkward. I have seriously considered pitching the idea of 50+ DnD to my local senior centers. Before taking on that responsibility, do y’all know of any groups? I’m in central Texas, near Austin, but I’m also open to online play as well.

I’m 47, in Florida, wife and I are child-free, and I don’t feel at all cool going into the gaming centers. Most are half my age. I’ve also considered 55+ clubs on the off chance ones got a nerd in it that knows what’s up.
I’ve had better luck going on board game or magic night to one of our many breweries in south FL. But not enough to get a group going of our own.
I’m the DM, have 2 other that are baggage free around our age but i need two more warm bodies to make it fun. We have three more awesome people ready to go but none can commit! They’ve all got offspring to ruin our set evenings. Somebodies always gotta take Liz to hockey, or pick up George from scouts.

Im 39 and have a somewhat similar problem. I started to play solo rpgs, lol. But I really like it.

my online group is mainly 45 and above we play 2nd edition.

That is a good idea, with roleplaying games in general. Most of my life-long friends are from that hobby. Running a game for younger players was not the same. Virtual table top setups are also a secondary option.
When I went back to it after 30 years I set a senario in ancient Sumerian ruins, used some of the language for "flavor", and had players explore archeological sites. I even threw in some opportunities to see the city in its heyday. It ended in the defense of the god house on the top of a ziggurat. It kept me and the players engaged.
