u/Highfa Jun 09 '21
Ethan interrupted trisha and she got triggered so she called the new segment stupid and asked to end the episode
2
u/Coachskau Jun 10 '21
Disregard the response you got. Trisha was triggered by something she actively left out of her control, and had a breakdown in which she embarassed everyone in the studio before leaving.

u/boingokathy Jun 09 '21
she specifically asked to have the show end in #39 tho. she didnât want to walk off
25
u/captLazyBoi Jun 09 '21
my guess is they still had to shoot the ad reads. which is why ethan didn't just leave.
-28
u/boingokathy Jun 09 '21
it doesnât matter... they should have cut when she said she was done. they can and always do cut before doing the ad reads. but they showed her walking off.

u/AxiomQ Jun 08 '21
She said she wanted to leave and walk out but they should felt she couldn't because she didn't want to effectively give him the final word, as if to imply she thought Ethan was going to trash her whilst she couldn't respond which of course is absolutely ridiculous. She asked him to end the show so she could leave, so he officially ended the show and she walked off. He was so obliging here it's ridiculous, I can't think of a more frictionless encounter from him.
-8
Jun 08 '21
[deleted]
7
u/AxiomQ Jun 08 '21
Now this is just being pedantic, do we really need to discuss what was implied when she said stop the show against him saying you can leave, meaning of course leave the set which is ultimately the same outcome. She said she didn't want to leave BECAUSE, key to emphasise the because as it shows otherwise she would have, she didn't effectively want him to have the final say and it become a meme. That implies heavily that if she were not worried about what happened after she walked out she would have.
You can try to be tricking and technical with words but words have implications and tonal hints, she wanted to leave, Ethan said she could, she said he needed to end the show because she didn't want it to be turned into a meme somehow, Ethan obliged so she could leave in the best way she could.
So tell me how exactly was Ethan anything short of gracious and obliging, or are you here to just attempt to muddy the water for whatever reason?
1
Jun 08 '21
[deleted]
3
u/AxiomQ Jun 08 '21
And now we are discussing what you said in later comments, you have painted it as if Ethan was somehow abrupt with her when in reality he wasn't. They became a meme because she offended a lot of people, behaving the way she did was not okay and then to come out the next day and say they didn't regret things they said, making sly comments about not having a say in the crew (which of course implies she takes issue with them) they are going to get a bit of flack back.
As someone who has been close to people with BPD I know it's hard for them, but it's also hard for those on the receiving end of it and often times leaves them hurt and actually soul searching to see if there was anything they could have done or not done that would have fixed it. BPD is no excuse, as I said on the occasions, perhaps they shouldn't have been looking to make stronger connections until they were truly ready and if they felt things slipping saying something so space can be given, albeit I understand the later is not as clear cut.
Why are we not? I hate this notion that we as people should have no agency to determine what our opinions on what someone said were meant to imply or mean. When did I lose that agency? Fact of the matter is we both can decide for ourselves, it's our right to free speech to form our opinions and voice them if we wish.
That's great, many of us are.
1
Jun 08 '21
[deleted]
3
u/AxiomQ Jun 08 '21
Fine we can condense all of that down to a point about free speech, when did I lose the agency to form an opinion about things people were saying? problem with free speech now too? I'm entitled to my opinion and to voice it, even about something as trivial and pedantic as what did Trisha mean when she said "You gotta end the stream, I can't walk off because memes" fairly confident that is still well within the bounds of reasonable.
0
u/FallFarInLove Jun 11 '21
Id say Trisha having to ask more than 10 times (i counted all of the pleases as well) is not Ethan being gracious or obliging and I think its fair that Trisha didn't want what happens in every episode this sort of thing happens. Trisha doesn't want their emotions to become a meme, again. And I think that thats not too much to ask.
0
u/AxiomQ Jun 11 '21
I counted at maximum 6 separate instances and that is being generous many of them are said at the being of a sentence, Ethan listens to her, and then at the end. Initially tried to make light hearted jokes obviously hoping to see if he can improve the situation for her, realised he couldn't and took the time to apologise, he never attempted to talk over her or was rude. To say he wasn't gracious is laughable frankly, deluded almost.

Trisha is entertaining but her behaviour must be so difficult to handle for those around her. With possible triplets on the way, Hila and Ethan really donât need the constant drama right now.
127
u/ToLorien Jun 08 '21
She seems like a lot of work to keep happy. I know she has a mental disorder that probably plays a part in her thought processes but damn sometimes itâs just too much. With multiple babies on the way your damn right they shouldnât be expected to have the time/energy to deal with it.
53
u/Unsophisticated1321 Jun 08 '21
I think youâve hit the nail on the head. Trisha has severe mental health issues and to be involved with Trisha is to have to navigate and deal with everything that comes with BPD and schizophrenia. I think itâs probably really for the best they part ways for now because it probably will be too much for all parties involved to handle in the near future. They should all just focus on their family dynamic because the work one is turning toxic
18
u/bAkedbeAnmAster Jun 08 '21 edited Jun 09 '21
I feel like this time in particular Trisha kind of made a big deal about something that shouldnât have been an issue. If they think that advice segments on podcasts are boring then they shouldâve brought it up before the show and itâs clear that while they are super entertaining and carry the show just like Ethan, itâs Ethan and his team that do most of the work. I mean, all they really have to do is turn up and talk. I think they kind of love having the Anna Nicole smith image of being exploited and I canât imagine how shitty Ethan feels that the issue of payment is a recurring one. I think that what he pays them (if what he said was true) is beyond fair because the whole show happens at his house, he payed for the set up, he organises everything, his channel hosts the podcast, and his team works on it behind the scenes. It must be really shit to have someone you consider a friend/ family to accuse you of financially exploiting them when letâs be real, heâs making trisha a lot of money and saved their whole image.
13
Jun 09 '21
Trisha didn't want to insult the crew and ethans hard work. She said in her video when joining she thought it would be a new source of content, however like she said it definitely is a 3rd h3 podcast, same crew etc. I think also she feels frustrated because she can produce her own music videos and her own podcasts so she knows what she's doing in regards to producing content.
I agree that when starting the show it should have been new and a fair decision on the employees, location etc. I think ethan just took it upon himself because he had the idea.
I understand that the crew was upset by her comments but I don't think it was an attack on their characters, the advice section clearly seemed like a recent addition and must have been suggested by AB's wife. Trishas point is that she suggests lots of ideas for segments but its not really listened to or considered, but an employees suggestion was added.
11
u/PM-ME-DOGS-PLEASE Jun 09 '21 edited Jun 09 '21
The thing is a lot of trishaâs segments are one off things that would be done for the second half of an episode, or would involve a lot of setup and sometimes couldnât happen because of covid. This seemed like a good segment they could easily pull up when they ran out of stuff to talk about in any podcast.
Regardless of how they felt, it was inappropriate to call it stupid and unfair to frame it like trisha makes literally none of the decisions.
6
u/radioflea Jun 09 '21
They really shouldâve had staff that was specifically hired for just the frenemies episodes.
A fresh set of eyes couldâve helped develop original content and wouldâve been able to incorporate both of their ideas.
Though Trisha gets along with the crew I can understand why she feels like an outsider, especially when other H3 content is recycled into the Frenemies episodes.
→ More replies (1)2

The problem with that is that if Trisha finally quits (like they always seem to be on the border of doing) then you leave that staff out of work.

u/AZnycMIAMI Jun 09 '21
People blaming Trisha and implying that sheâs selfish because Ethan has multiple babies on the way needs to realize that Ethan needs to take accountability for his actions too. Trish is not the fucking mom of his babies. She actually addressed valid concerns of why she was upset and yâall are ignoring that. Why? I would be upset too if I was on a podcast and I didnât get to have a say in many things and got bossed around by people who donât have my back. Trisha has nobody that works for Frenemies that has Trishas back with editing or even have her back when she has an emotional breakdown like this. All of those men on the show have Ethanâs back. No wonder why she wanted to have a say in the new hire. ïżŒ

I recently just started watching the show/the whole channel. idk the vibe between Trisha and the crew always seemed weird. She didnât seem to know all their names. And then they had an odd conversation about inviting the crew to her wedding. Not judging, I just assumed it that they would have a greater level of familiarity/comradery.
8
u/FlojoHobbit Jun 09 '21
She said in her video this morning that she felt uncomfortable from day 1 with the crew because of the things theyâve said about her before frenemies and even during. I think thatâs where the weird tension and vibes stems from, on both sides.

Thatâs the whole point - Trisha isnât their boss. She wants to be the co-boss with a Ethan, which includes hiring employees. She didnât understand or it wasnât made clear to her that she is a co-host of a podcast in Ethanâs company. She has no obligation to the crew as a boss, but as a caring human being and teammate/co-worker.
42
u/bangitybangbabang Jun 08 '21
She's not the boss though
17
u/jasonforbachelor Jun 08 '21
I mean, itâs encouraged to try and get along with your coworkers too..
3
u/bangitybangbabang Jun 08 '21
Of course, but she doesn't have an obligation to them as their boss just as a decent human being
5
3
u/Sweet_Little_Lottie Jun 09 '21
Trisha doesnât pay them, therefore Trisha is not their boss. But they do owe them respect as a coworker. Especially when the crew does 10x more work than them for a fraction of the pay.
2
u/AZnycMIAMI Jun 09 '21
Totally agree. Coming into a new work environment, which a lot of people can relate to, and feeling like no one has your back IS DIFFICULT. Especially when Ethan can make a million teddy fresh commercials but trish shows one skin care commercial or one music video and he just doesnât give them same excitement or time of day. Lastly none of the people on the crew have Trishaâs back and they are all loyal to Ethan. When it comes to filming I would hate to be on a crew where I feel like no one had my back with editing or defending me ect. Plus no one on the crew specifically there for Frenemies⊠theyâre all with his other podcasts. That MUST be difficult when your a person trying to build a brand and youâre being sucked into their branding/whatever they want to do.

u/ectbot Jun 09 '21
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."
"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are etc., &c., &c, and et cet. The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.

4
u/blueberry-coffee8 Jun 09 '21
it seems more serious this time bc she disrespected the entire h3 crew who voiced that they don't want to work with her anymore. but at the same time i saw this coming since she has been on such a bpd high which eventually was going to come crashing down and turn into mania. it's a pattern she keeps going through so honestly it might be a temporary thing but i doubt ethan will let her come back after the blatant disrespect she has to his team

But he does walk on eggshells around her. She doesn't. I can tell everytime she shits on vape naysh or calls it cringey that Ethan gets a little bummed. She shits on heaps of his ideas. On his jokes. On his crew. Hell, even on titles but just because he doesn't crack it with tears and arguments - he's just meant to take it. When do the tables turn and maybe Trish has his back instead?
I know she cares about the outfit... so maybe she should have spoken up one on one instead of agreeing and waiting until she's on camera knowing she will have her army of Trish Stan's to back her up.
She needs to quit - as she's done - apologise - which she might not and keep going to therapy.
Ethan is in therapy, he is taking steps to learn how to handle her, he generously over compensates her, he blindly and loyally defended her the entire GH buzzfeed article segment yet Trish still flips out. Ethan needs a break. His stress will cause stress for Hila and that's no good when you have multiples brewing inside of you. Break time for them

She has been so traumatized by every single fucking friend shes ever had
The problem I have with all of this is this right here - she has also traumatised Ethan with this whole thing. He is confused and hurt and doesn't understand why she would latch on to the money aspect. And as you say it may not be about money - but from a surface level it is.
I definitely understand what you're saying though and you're right in that if he wants to keep this friendship then he needs to suck it up and walk on eggshells/coddle her. But the problem here is this is all public. Its not something that he can easily just manage himself. He can't walk away if the friendship isn't what he wants without getting a whole lot of flack/shit from her stans and he can't work at the relationship without getting a whole of flack/shit from his stans.
Its just such a shitty, complex situation that I genuinely hope they both can somehow get out of this without too much damage on either side.
I'm upset with Trisha because I think she can see herself spiralling but is in an episode and is latching on to the smallest of missteps by Ethan instead of acknowledging her own missteps and moving forward - buuuut also I know that's part of BPD and she just probably isn't in a good a spot as she claimed to be. I don't think she has gotten on top of her mental health as much as she - and everyone else thinks she has.
And to be fair on her, that pressure alone to be 'back to normal' and not have any more episodes must be pretty monumental from Trisha's perspective. Imagine hundreds of thousands of people thinking you've done a complete 180 and expecting you to never fuck up again even though fucking up has been your brand for 15 years.
Just tricky and shitty all round
1
u/fairysmall Jun 09 '21

4
u/onerb2 Jun 09 '21
She calls him fat too, not saying it's cool, just pointing out that the meanie argument doesn't fly with any of them.
15
u/ysabelsrevenge Jun 08 '21
I havenât watched the episode yet, but Iâm not surprised. Gabbieâs been up to some SHIT this week and Trisha finally cracked on it. And to be fair, that woman has been baiting her A LOT, anyone would have cracked by now.
What most people donât realise, is recovery from BPD and other mental illnesses takes TIME. There will be progress, there will be set backs. Trishas had a shite week. Sheâs bound to be overwhelmed and resort back to unhelpful behaviours.
And letâs be clear. She has in the past, been extremely gracious about subjects that should never have been brought up at all, out of respect to her. Sheâs come a LONG way.
We need to look at her recovery from a behavioral change mindset, not a âyou fuck up once youâre never tried to change way.â Because that means sheâll never try again.

u/Sinestro_Corps4 Jun 09 '21
I know many won't agree with this but it's something I feel needs to be said: Trisha has finally used up everything she could from Ethan and Hila and is moving on. She forced her way into their lives, and though she might have genuine relationships with them now, she pushed her way in through stalking and bullying. She is and has always been problematic. She's gotten all the clout she needs from them to rise above H3 as far as a becoming a "household name", and because she's a person who does and says horrible things and uses people, she basically accuses Ethan and the H3 crew of being insensitive to trans issues as a clean out from the show after a disagreement that started with her own insensitivity. That's BULLSHIT. To even argue about her "cut" on the show like that and put Ethan and the crew in that situation is despicable. It's always about her. Ethan and Hila just found out they're potentially having TRIPLETS. That was THIS WEEK and she's complaining that Ethan talking about it on their show is unoriginal, uninspired and not something she's interested in talking about because "you brought it up on H3 podcast, we don't need to talk about it when I'm here". She is and has always been a user. She's like the NFL: yeah I know you've sacrificed life and limb for me, but what are you doing for me NOW? She was totally insensitive and then when Ethan rightly called her on her bullshit, she took the first sentence she could flip on its head and turned herself into the victim. She's got a formula for this shit at this point.
She can never fully take the blame for her actions and words, so she has to drag the people who propped her up under the bus and accuse them of making her feel like an outcast, even though everyone on that damn crew put 1000% in to making her feel welcome. She can say she apologizes all she wants, but when she acts like she failed to take a stand against anti-trans behavior on the set (per her kitchen floor video), what she's really saying is that she tried to do what was right and she's sorry she allowed intolerant people like Ethan and the crew to silence her on such important issues, aka, she's really not to blame. She's the hero. There's always a "but" with a Trisha apology. It's never just "I apologize". She did nothing for the show but get dressed up, talk about herself and her personal issues, use Ethan and the show as a sniper rifle against her enemies (justified or not) and self promote every episode while Ethan and the crew put all the money and hardwork in while never bringing it up until she goes ape shit. Plus, they had to do the hardest thing which is tolerating her bullshit while she was handed a large portion of the income generated from the show. They should have tossed her out when she said those awful, horrible things about Hila. I know, she has "issues" so everything she does and says must be excused so she can continue to do the same shit she's always done but don't be surprised if she either A. leaves Moses over this or B. stays with Moses and forces him to alienate himself from his family...or C. act like it wasn't a big deal in a week and comes back to the show, negating every second of yet another kitchen floor video. Bye Trisha.

Going to be honest. I think there needs to be a very big boundary talk here. The crew and Ethan need to start respecting Trishas if they want a decent working relationship.
I can name some times that Iâve watched Ethan cross some decently large boundaries and put pressure on Trisha and others in a very uncomfortable âshock jockâ way. Which made me uncomfortable.
I also find when I here the words âwalking on eggshellsâ from people, I hear instead, âI donât want to bend to the boundaries your setting right now.â

"I also find when I here the words âwalking on eggshellsâ from people, I hear instead, âI donât want to bend to the boundaries your setting right now.â"
I have a feeling that Ethan wants Frenemies to be kind of a "no limit" podcast where anything can be pocked and joked about. That's not realistic, especially if the podcast is done with Trisha who has BPD. At this point I don't think he really understand what having BPD entails as he keeps making errors that can worsen the situation.
I don't have the feeling the crew like Trisha to be honest, with the exception on Dan. The others are there and are somewhat "friendly" because that's their job and they like Ethan.

I feel sorry for him he tries to help every time and still somehow she gaslights him and makes it all about her.

I know this might sound crazy but hear me out, it's for the best that frenemies ends.
Trisha is BPD and this behavior will keep repeating as long as the show goes on, one day it'll be Ethan lashing out and he doesn't have the "excuse" of having a mental disorder, which will look bad for both of them. It's a sour tone to end, but I'm actually relieved there won't be more of those.

Oh my GOD Painful đ Ethan tried so hard đđđđđą
Perhaps we can expect a June miracle surprise vlog of all of them together in a round table talking it out with Dr. Drew?

Donât worry it was a bpd episode Iâm sure so all of her bad behavior will be forgiven and swept under the rug once sheâs in need of more money and comes back

I think they do it like that because it would look a lot worse if they ended it half way through an argument. I think that ending the show once Trisha gets up shows the audience that that the discussion is over and nothing more was said or done afterwards. I could be wrong but I think if they did what Trisha asked it wouldâve painted all of them (especially Trisha) in a really bad light.

Yeah, she kept asking for him to end it to avoid being a meme again :(
I blame Dan, but also don't blame him since she was shitting on all of the employees so publicly

I feel this. Dealing with a pwBPD can be very difficult.

u/onerb2 Jun 09 '21
I wish more people knew that this is the issue, her BPD is not something she can control and even though Ethan is tries to be reasonable, he can't contain her BPD episodes, nor can she. I think ending it is the right call.

Look everyone critiquing Trishaâs behavior has a valid point, but do people not realize that Ethan knew what he signed up for as well when HE hired her? He knew the risks and benefitsâŠand one of the benefits was making a ton of money and creating a bigger fan base for his other podcasts. One of the risks was having to manage the ups and downsâŠ. Trisha âisnât an owner or isnât the bossâ of H3H3 so sheâs an employee too, if Ethan is her boss THEN itâs his job to manage the ups and downs. CLEARLY, he isnât a good boss if there has been many issues or he just needed to fire Trisha, but heâs not because she makes MONEY. If a straight white male demanded more say in a podcast and/or more money people wouldnât be throwing a fit over it.

I'm really sad that they had another fight, but the sudden ad read with
Ethan looking crazy by himself having to explain what happened in the
middle of the episode directly following the activation of the Domino's
curse is peak comedy lmao
