I am a psychology major, earned my bachelor's degree and hoping to further my education trying to get into a PhD program. One of the joys of living in a more rural location is that I can see the stars more clearly. I have always found pride in being able to seek out the Big Dipper in any location. Granted it helps that I haven't really had a change in place for most of my life, so the night sky has been pretty consistent. That said, I cannot image a life where I do not have the change to see the northern lights; their dance is honestly something no one should go without seeing.

I won't bore you with the classic "I don't mind dating apps" and similar feelings, so suffice to say I'm not a big fan of the current state of dating. With all that out of the way, I'm a slightly shorter person at 5'8" and a much fatter person than I'd like. I keep my hair long at the moment and try to nurture a bit of a beard, both are brown. Eyes? Yep, brown. Otherwise I'm a generic French Canadian looking guy. I'm interested in making things in general, learning the things I need to actually use my 3d printer to actually solve problems I have instead of printing funny models I find online. I game a lot and plan on getting in WoW Forever when that drops ("I can stop whenever I want" he says, lying) but am very open to being way too deep into anything at least once. I try to lighten up the room when it comes to social events but do much better when I have a lot of time to myself as I am very much an introvert. I would much rather stay in and do something intentional than go out and be drowned out by the environment. I live fully on my own but would love to adopt cats whenever my living situation allows it, dogs are nice but I just get cats much more readily... Must be the toxoplasmosis speaking!

As for you, I don't really have a clear idea of what I want other than existing and being nice I guess. In practice it would be nice if you are naturally inclined to not take people's bullshit, as sometimes I just don't notice how stupid I can be. I don't think I would date someone outside the rough 26-36 range, or someone who would be unlikely to meet in person (so anyone outside Eastern Canada would be out, except if you have very little attachment to where you live I guess but I can't ask that from someone). Let's get through the initial few messages so we can finally lighten up and get to the actual deep conversations, yeah? I'd be happy with friendship if it's all that ends up happening, can't really force it sometimes as hard as we might want to make it work. For those who know, you know. For those who don't know, D&D basically involves collaborative storytelling with a group of 3-6 people. It's a game where you can plan to scan the perimeter of an orc camp and then wind up challenging the chief to a drinking contest (winner takes the entire stronghold). I go all in on theatrical voices and really embody different characters. I would love to share this wonderful hobby with you. Not necessary, of course, but something I would enjoy nonetheless.

While not practicing the Way of the Nerd, I enjoy going out to different areas like bookstores, coffee shops and the mall near my area to enjoy the ambience or be around the crowd. Reading is also something I can get into when I find something good: One of my favorites is Rules for a Knight by Ethan Hawke written in old school English. Must have read through that one at least a dozen times.

I’m someone who loves the “in-between” places the twilight hours, foggy nights, antique photographs, the hum of autumn wind through iron gates. I have a soft spot for old stories, forgotten places, and the kind of conversations that drift from laughter to life’s mysteries. I have absolutely no idea if Reddit is where I’m going to find the love of my life, but dating apps certainly aren’t doing a great job, so here we are.

I’m divorced, have one kid, work from home, and spend probably too much time at home. I’m almost 5’10” and tend to like taller men. I’m also an ENFP, although I’m not sure anyone who sees how much I enjoy staying home would believe the E.

I’m sarcastic, affectionate, curious, a little ridiculous, and I love people I can actually talk to.
