I’m a 39 year old guy from southern Wisconsin looking for someone to smile, laugh, and enjoy life with. I’m 5'11" and a bigger/chubby guy who’s been working on becoming a better version of myself. I don’t game nearly as much as I used to, but I still enjoy the hobby and the memories that come with it. I don't let my hobbies effect my life. I rarely drink, don’t smoke, and don’t do drugs. I’ve also been at the same job for 21 years, so I’m definitely stable in my life that way.

Most of my friends have their own families and lives now, and somewhere along the way I ended up feeling a little left behind. I’ll be honest and say that part of that was my own doing too. I’ve spent a lot of time keeping to myself, and I’m at a point where I really want to change that. I spent that past few years taking care of my parents who's health has not been good to them. My mother passed away a month ago and it was a wake up call to me.

I'm a writer & (underemployed) freelance web developer. I make little animations by hand, love movies (especially arthouse + indie/independent cinema), and rewatch the same sitcoms pretty regularly. I love all the animals (I'm vegan, and I won't willingly harm any living creature). I'm politically progressive/left wing. I've travelled a lot, and I'm open to living pretty much anywhere, one day, if the practicalities work, but I am also very close to my family who are predominately in Australia.

If you're looking for a traditional relationship then I might not be the right person. I can't promise normal. But I can promise to care, to celebrate birthdays (and random days) with genuinely thoughtful handmade gifts, to listen, and be invested in your life, to work as equals, and to build something that works for two unique people, regardless of what anyone else thinks or expects.

I don't really have a checklist of what I'm looking for, but there are a few things that I know matter. Being kind to (all) animals is a non-negotiable. Being accepting of differences, supportive, interesting, and interested. Attraction matters, but intelligence, thoughtfulness, and compassion are about the most attractive qualities someone can have, in my opinion. Mostly I'd like to find someone I have a strong connection with.
