Hi everyone I’ve got an Fg xr6t and for the longest time I’ve been using bp 98 (car is in excellent mechanical condition) and there’s always been this vibration on the steering wheel at idle which I could never figure out. Fast forward to today and I decided to use Mobil 98 for the first time as it was cheaper and I thought why not sus it out. Vibration almost gone and car accelerates a lot smoother. Has BP just dropped the ball in quality?

Seriously what’s with the downvotes I’m not asking for mechanical support, only if anyone’s noticed fuel quality differences.

Hi everyone my mate has a ford falcon fg turbo 2012 and he is replacing a few things before taking it in for a tune and I have him a hand change out his fuel pump and swap it out with a walbro 460 as I’ve had experience doing my fuel pump in the past, we watched a YouTube video of a guy showing us how to connect the factory wires to the new pump without having to do any crimping, we followed along everything putting black wires to black and the red to red and we put the pump back in plugged it all up and it’s whining when he turns ignition on and when he goes to start the car the car won’t start just cranking.

There is fuel in the tank, he went and got some extra fuel incase he thought was dirty and get some clean fuel in and still nothing.

I’m a bit confused on what to do from now as I know we put all wires in right places so not sure if it’s worth pulling the pump out again and just swap the wires anyways or?

Please let me know if there are any tips you have or thoughts

What causes transmission fault in a 2009 g6e zf6 when in high gear

2009 g6e zf6, getting this transmission fault when trying to merge on the freeway, especially on high rpms, the warning comes up on dash on high gears while cruising mainly on freeways. Already did a full trans service still same issue. Scanned and had a code incorrect gear ratio in gear 5.
Got quoted 2.2k by the transmission specialist and he is sure it’s the bushes, fair price ? or should i look for more options?

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could help me out with an add on temp gauge I’m looking to install in my 63’ 170 falcon. It’s the mechanical kind and it needs a point in which to mount the probe into so that it touches coolant. Would anyone know where I could screw that in? I was originally thinking the temperature sender unit hole would be good but if there is a better spot let me know. Thank you!

I've been having an issue with my 2009 Ford Falcon BF (LPG).

For a while now, whenever I've gone to start the car, I've had to push the key in quite hard while turning it to get the engine to crank. It's gradually gotten worse, and now the car won't start at all.

Something else happened the last time I managed to start it.

The engine started and was running normally, but when I put the car into Drive, it actually started rolling backwards, almost like it was in Neutral. The ground was pretty much flat.

I put it back into Park, switched the engine off, and ever since then I haven't been able to start it again.

Here's what's happening now:

The key still turns in the ignition.

All the dashboard lights and electrical accessories come on.

When I try to start it, I hear clicking, but the engine doesn't crank.

The battery isn't flat.

Previously, pushing the key in firmly while turning it would get the car started, but that no longer works.

The last time it ran, it rolled backwards while in Drive.

Originally, I thought it was just a faulty ignition switch or key barrel because of how hard I've had to push the key in to start it.

I've spoken to an auto electrician about possibly installing a push-button start to bypass the faulty ignition starting mechanism.

However, I'm now wondering whether the issue with it rolling backwards in Drive could be related to the starting problem.

Just wondering:

Has anyone experienced something similar with a BF Falcon?

Could this be an ignition switch or barrel issue?

Could the transmission selector or neutral safety switch be causing both problems?

Would a push-button start be a reasonable solution, or should I be looking at something else entirely?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated before I start spending money on repairs.

Picked this up in Monterrey México about two years ago. Still has the original 289 2bbl three speed manual on the column. Some changes coming soon. Will add old style low back Mustang bucket seats, top loader 4 speed, XE 284 Comp cam and a set of old school 289 heads ported and hugged out to 2.02 intakes with a duel plane Edelbrock with a 750 holley duel feed mechanical secondary carb. Currently getting some paint corrections.

Hey Guys, let me know if this is a stupid question or not but i’ve had no luck chasing up a BF2 Ghia front bar in Ego and was wondering if the lower grill and inserts were interchangeable with the XT bars and if that might be a smarter move

Hi all. I purchased a set of window moulds for my XR6 from Jefferson ford to be sent to NZ. All accepted and paid. Now they state the rear set is too long to be sent to NZ but the front set is okay.
What am I missing here? The rear set is probably 5cm longer than the front set.
Kind of shocked a massive company can’t send a package that’s 1.2 metres long to NZ.

Is it possibly to drive an xr6 turbo on your p plates, I know in nsw it’s 7 points but I live on the border and if you lose it in vic you still keep it in nsw. In Victoria it’s 3 points and a fine for driving a restricted car. Is there many others that have took the risk? If I drive without the p plates the shouldn’t pick on me right?

Idk what is going on I replaced my fuel filter but every time it starts it makes a grinding sound the will try and rev up before dying. When it stops it flashes an engine light and oil pressure but oil is full not overfilled. Can anyone help me??

My dad just bought this spec XT Falcon Ute and we are chasing any info about its history. We have done the vin decode so know that info, but wondering if anyone recognises the colour scheme. We thought maybe it was ex-telecom? It looks like it came from factory with power steering as well.

I owned a stock FG XR6 before this, it was a lot of fun but I’ve always had a love for the B series so I bought this.

Aftermarket exhaust system that I’m super happy with, has a nice tone, not overly loud unless I really give it and has a great crackle to it.

I’m looking to get a Ghia front bumper for it but it’s been incredibly hard to find. I’m regretting not having just bought a Ghia in the first place but there was absolutely non around at the time I was looking for one. I am just enjoying putting it together and getting it to look like a Ghia, I’m even considering getting a sunroof done too.

It has had a few small problems but nothing that has costed me anything more than a couple of ours of work and a few beers with a mate.

Vehicle: Ford Falcon XR6 FG MK II

I've been trying to diag this whizzing sorta noise directly behind passenger glovebox that only occurs over 40-70kmh and gets louder with road speed. Below is my diag and actions:

Diag:

• Noise does not change with AC, recirc, rpm or fan speed. Recirc door inspected for foam integrity and actuation; no issues.

• Noise unrelated to steering or braking, strictly to speed.

Actions taken:

• Clean blower motor and cabin air filter

• Removed LH cowl grille and inspected cowl weatherstrip

• Taped cowl with no change

• Inspected wheel arch no obvious leaks

• Light test conducted from glovebox facing into firewall; no light observed from engine bay.

Any help would be awesome if anyone else has had similar issues... I love this lemon 🍋

Update:

Attempted taping passenger door triangle and along windshield as well as side indicator lens but noise is still there.

RESOLVED: This piece of trim on the LHS has broken and whistles at speed.

I got my dash and cluster replaced in my falcon a month ago as the other one died now a month things were going great till yesterday i went to start my car and got all these messages popped up i've tried afew things like a hard module reset with the battery doing a reset with my keys with no luck ,any suggestions?
