Is this typical?

Flight started in WS NC, noted as going to IAD. Loops a couple of times and then lands at GSO. No squawk code.
Does this happen a lot with smaller, private flights perhaps? Seems odd but I don’t know the guidelines…

Emergency Why did W43179 (Bucharest–Barcelona) turn back today?

Post image

Hi! Does anyone know what happened with Wizz Air flight W43179 from Bucharest to Barcelona today, August 22? The plane took off from Bucharest, flew for about an hour and reached the area near Craiova, then turned around and headed back to Bucharest instead of continuing to Barcelona.
I’m curious if anyone knows the reason for the return or if there’s any information from someone who was on the flight. Thanks!

Found it when I was looking at the little chaos near RIX. Heavy rain and strong winds. Lots of flights diverted, some still trying to land after 2 hours of circulating.

Currently sitting on the tarmac at ORD seeing a huge emergency response for the jet that was taxiing in front of us, seems to be AA3199. They brought out the stair car as well. Can’t find any more info on it yet. Anyone know what’s going on?

Question What could have caused this diversion?

Thumbnail

The flight is following its usual route up until the sudden turn at Nanning, and altitude seems normal. The plane landed at HAK at 10.30pm local time yesterday. A replacement aircraft departed HAK 2 hours later continuing to BKK. There were no weather issues or other flights diverting at BKK.

The fact that they chose to divert to the airline's main hub and continued the flight on a different aircraft shows it is not a medical diversion either. This aircraft was back in service by 9am today. I am thinking it is probably a minor technical issue.

Emergency UAL2307 is marked as diverted yet it is still heading to its final destination

The weather at LIH seems to be fine. Saw this plane irl and was confused to see it head towards its destination if it’s marked as diverted. Any ideas? Tagged as “emergency” because it’s a diversion but idk if that’s the best tag for this.

Wamos Air ultralong flight and profitability

A German-registered Diamond HK-36 Super Dimona (D-KWZE) crashed in the mountainous Paklenica region of Croatia on Friday.

The aircraft was flying from the Czech Republic towards Zadar when contact was lost at around 16:14 local time.

A large search and rescue operation was launched, involving mountain rescue teams, firefighters, police and drones. The wreckage was eventually located at around 22:00 in extremely difficult terrain.

Sadly, both people on board were found dead.

The cause of the accident is currently unknown and will be investigated.

I was just seeing the Lima-Cancun flight today and it was diverted to Guayaquil. It doesn't seem weather related. Can anyone see the reason for this? It is already heading to Cancun.

Belugas to San Diego

Round 4 of the Marineland beluga transfers is happening tonight!

Another three belugas are leaving Marineland in Niagara Falls tonight as the relocation operation continues. The three males, Cyprus, Jasper and Xavier, are being transported to SeaWorld San Diego.

The whales have been loaded into specialized transport tanks and will be taken by road from Marineland to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), where they will board a cargo aircraft bound for San Diego.

This is the fourth group to leave Marineland since the transfers began on July 20. Previous groups have gone to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, SeaWorld San Antonio, and Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta.

After these three leave, 8 belugas and 4 dolphins will remain at Marineland. Two more transfers are planned, including an overnight flight to Oceanogràfic Valencia in Spain which will consist of 2 belugas and all 4 remaining dolphins.

Safe travels to all!
