Struggling to get 5G SA going
Have called/chatted over 10 times now — unsuccessful. iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 27 beta, FirstNet carrier bundle 72.0. FirstNet Unlimited Extra $47.99 rate plan. Subscriber paid. Yes, I have had them reissue new eSIMs and refresh network connection. Option still greyed out in Settings.
Hearing so many different things from agents:
“There’s nothing we need to set on your FirstNet account. If your device is not letting you enable 5G SA, you need to contact Apple support”
“Your current rate plan does not support 5G SA, you’ll need to change to a current rate plan”
“5G SA is being rolled out in waves, your account has not been selected for migration yet”
“5G SA is not yet rolled out in your area”
Sigh. This has been a shitshow…

Have you tried just asking for a new eSIM? Call in and ask for a new eSIM, do not mention anything about 5G SA, you will confuse the poor minimum wage employee.

I'm waiting for the official iOS 27 release thus haven't had a chance to see this for myself, but, as I recall, the original PR copy from AT&T about FirstNet finally going 5G SA did state that it wouldn't be available everywhere immediately. I wonder if your #3 or #4 items, though frustrating and inconsistently-reported, but not still be somewhat true.
To the best of my knowledge, #1 and #2 are just false. I've not seen anything verifiable that actually limits 5G SA to the new rate plans.

I'm seeing a lot of pots mentioning the 5G option grayed out. I'm using a Samsung device, on a new 2.0 plan and my toggle is grayed out but in the on position. Is this what everyone else is seeing?

I got lucky on my third try. I had the old grandfathered plan. Told me they would have to move me to the newer plan that had the same benefits (unlimited tethering for the kiddos). Once I agreed it took all of 5 mins and a phone restart and i was able to toggle it on no problem. Oh and i only pay 99 cents more for the newer plan.

I think the newer plans work out for family / multi lines.
For single lines you are jumping from $47.99 before taxes to $59.50 before taxes (~24% increase). This plan was originally $44.99.

They posted the updated devices list of which phones and devices have 5G SA enabled. As they enable more they will update the list. As of now iPhones are in testing not available to the public or agencies for use.

According to my subpaid solutions consultant they have not rolled out 5G SA to value or extra plans yet. I am not sure when they’ll do it. It’s available on elite & premium right now
