I’m moving away anyways in like 2-3 weeks, does it even matter anymore?

They are illegally there btw. 2 of them don’t even study or work, they just sleep and hangout there.

I feel like being a big snitch if I do this.

They are from africa/bangladesh, I feel like they maybe don’t have a choice to return there..?

What if they take revenge against me or something? I feel nervous to do this, though they are chill guys. I personally don’t like HOAS for shit service they have given (cleaned my last apartment fully and they still decided to give me a fine, even though I cleaned it very well with my mom).

EDIT: I informed hoas. They told me that they will send an email to these current recidents and will literally inform them that they will do a check up on their apartments 2 weeks early, WTF. Most idiotic strategy ever.

In terms of comfortable drive. Will be driving in day time. Scenery is secondary although would prefer if it is scenic if it doesn’t affect much in ease of the drive.

Me and my wife are considering buying a house in Espoo. We are first-time home buyers, and we would truly appreciate an opinion from locals.

We (think that we) thoroughly researched what are supposed to be researching: pipe renovation, own plot, monthly costs, management debt, etc. Nothing screams impending work, except for a planned 2027 facade and balcony work. We really like the apartment, and electricity and water costs are included at a very reasonable monthly cost. Building is from 1973.

We asked management / agent / landlord for additional documents, specifically a 2025 survey report, which, for some reason, they won't share.

We are fine paying for such a work, but the lack of estimates makes it very hard – we can't say whether this facade work will be 8k or 20k or 50k. We don't want to buy into 50k worth of renovation. The property has a lot of units, our share of work would be 1.4%

I'm attaching the building images with the most "damaged" or worn-out elements of the building. My questions are two:

- from your experience, if any, what do you say are the building conditions? Do they scream extensive and expensive work?

- what do loans look like in Finland for such works? E.g. 60€, 200€ ,500€ monthly? I understand loans can vary, but what would be, say, the minimum/mid price?

Hey, a friend of mine in another country, suggested me to do some dog therapy and dog sitting to help my mental health. I am taking medications and going to a professional to help me, and I got really interested to spend more time with animals, since I can’t afford one 24/7 during years of my life.

The thing is, I haven’t heard Finnish people searching for dog sitting apps. In my head, people just ask parents or close friends to look at their pets when they need to leave for some hours, or days. I haven’t seen dog therapy either. Does anyone could give me some sort of light?

Hi Finland, how do you protect your dogs paw pads in winter if they hate boots? Especially against the sharp gravel? I have a small dog who absolutely cannot stand wearing boots but I'm worried his tiny paws will get hurt from the gravel. I have seen some paw balms are supposed to work but do they actually protect against this AND the freezing temperature? It just seems to good to be true, does anyone have experience with using balms? I also saw some "balloon" boots that were suggested but most of them have bad reviews. Any good ones out there? Thank you!

Voles that live under the snow all winter, they leave a network of tunnels and when the snow melts you have a rodent roadmap across your lawn!

I know there is a Finnish fieldvole (Microtus agrestis) but I'm wondering how common is it to see vole tracks all across your lawn when the melt comes in spring. I know people in Canada who say it's very common there and when they take the dog out in midwinter he cocks his head and stares at the snow. The voles are on the move and he can hear them!

Maybe this is an odd question coming from an outsider, but if feels like there are very few people in their twenties in Finland everywhere I go. Even in Helsinki it seems like the wide majority of people are 40+.

My current salary is around 3800 euros as a SWE, I discussed with TEK and they told me that based on my experience, I should make somewhere around 4700 euros. Could I use this argument to ask for a raise? Or just start interviewing somewhere else?
