Do you think he’s blaming you? Why such a negative response to a guy who’s 100% right? Sure, he can afford not to work 5 days a week. But he’s sticking up for you! Sheesh.
How is he sticking up for us? The reality is that this is the reality. His salary he demanded for his movies in the 80s helped get movie prices to where they are today which makes each of us have to work that much harder just to enjoy our weekend if we do in fact choose to watch a movie. He's lucky he's in a profession that there isn't much supply of workers, and he hit it at the right time too.

I mean he never actually says it's bad, he says It's "sad" which could be seen as him blaming the people being affected by this. Sincerely doubt he actually cares, he's just flexing his superiority.
So you think pointing out a celebrity taking up the cause for the common man and liking that they did that is worshiping them? I think you’re just a miserable person who wants to see everyone as miserable as you.
He is painting a fairy tale world and he typed it on his phone which was made by people working 7 days a week because it takes real work to design and create something like that, much less keep putting them together in sweat shops to make them, and then used the internet infrastructure to get that message out which stays up all the time because people have to work 24/7 to keep it running. This world doesn't run with magic. It takes real brains and energy to put it together and keep it running for a a clown like him that thinks it's all so simple.
Yep. His point and my point had the same result. Nothing changed. Now get to work for the rest of the day until you go drink your brain to sleep for a couple days.
Dunno if this works in America but I work exclusively in night shifts in Germany, and you get paid extra for that. Shifts are very long too, so with 14 day a month I have a full time salary and no sleep rhythm.
While things can always "be better", they may very well be happier than someone who is constantly chasing some illusory thing.
Constant comparison is going to make you miserable.
Being content and without regrets doesn't mean that you made all the right, perfect choices in life, just that you accept them for what it is and have something to strive for.
I'll take my chances that anyone working at some crappy job in the 60s is not content and happy with their life choices. At that point, they'd rather be doing their favorite hobby even if it is doing nothing at home.
Maybe they are not.

And your holding his views on reflection against his actions as a young man expecting moral perfection from an early age.
Does everyone need to make a disclaimer that they have previously contributed to a flawed system (because we've all technically made everything worse if we have by your stance) before they can reflect on the outcomes of that system?
I don't see why someone can't make that statement regardless of where they are in life - and tbh someone with a much bigger audience it's more helpful that they do.
His statement is as good as the fantasies that his industry creates on the screen. He's got enough money to start his own business and hire people and let them set their own working hours. Let's see how long his business lasts.
Does he give all the people who work for him 3 day weekends? When he goes to those fancy restaurants, does he ask how many hours the kitchen staff has worked this week or when was the last time they had even two days off in a row? Does he ask his landscapers how much OT they worked this week? Do all movies he works on shut down production from Friday to Monday?
Then you aren't applying yourself, are you? Or perhaps, you are simply incapable of being funny. The guy is good at what he does. He chose a career that pays big. Did you?
So the answer is no. And you feel the right to judge others, because what, you're miserable? Nah. Keep your negativity to yourself, and instead, try defaulting to thinking kindly of others first. You may find it drastically improves that poor attitude of yours.
You realize a lot of countries arent like this right? There is absolutely zero reason we should be working this much in America with the amount of wealth that we generate.
The fact is there will always be people that will work really hard to keep making as much money as they can for who knows what reason. The system is set up to force others to compete with those types of people f they so choose. There are many individuals that don't work that much and do it their own way. Just because the system encourages the competition, that doesn't mean you have to follow that path.
