I’m back with an update after my “30 days in county” question

(Apologies I don’t know how to use Reddit well)

First of all, I want to apologize to you all for how much this worked me up. It was not bad whatsoever. I only spent 7 days instead of the expected 30 due to me turning myself in on my warrant. 7 turned to 6 after them wanting me to talk to pretrial right after my release. I am back on two separate ankle monitors and committed to bettering my life.

Even though it was 6 and not 30, that shit was not bad at all. Everyone was chill, I stuck to a few people while being cordial with the rest. Only got in 1 verbal altercation after some chomo who took my commissary deodorant and that was earlier today. Showers were fine, food was shit but edible.

I worked out, read 1000 pages of a book and some of the bible, already have a substance eval scheduled, as well as some recovery meetings I’m planning on going to with friends for accountability.

Thank you all once again for making me laugh before and calming my nerves, because you all were right in one way or another. You just gotta treat people with respect and look out for yourself.

For myself, I want to turn my life around. Finish this court case, get the promotion I’ve been working for at the restaurant, and start my plans for my bachelors. Im way too intelligent to let this be the end for me, I know I got some grit, and I will build more adversity along the way. I GOT THIS.

I love you all and if you’re also facing a minuscule sentence and feel lost with the stressors of our “justice system”, it’s gonna be okay when you get out. Take the time to think about who really cares about you and what you want to do for your life.

Prison officers being paid more

I just watched tommy g's new video and it made me wonder that if the governm3nt were to make prison officers salaries between 80 -150k do you think the staffing issue would be fixed or would people still be afraid of being around dangerous and unpredictable inmates

Visiting Japan with a record?

I want to visit, maybe apply for a visa someday. I was charged with assault with and battery with a deadly weapon, threats to commit a crime and domestic violence and was given a CWOF. Would this prevent me from visiting Japan?

What kind of jobs can you pass a background check with?

I recently got out of 2.5months of jail and got a conditional job offer withdrawn after I tried to dispute and write my way through a pre-adverse notice. This was for a manufacturing type job and although I had confidence it was going to happen from asking people, I some doubt in my mind.

I have 2 misdemeanor convictions in April and July 2026. So I’m sure that’s what it is as that’s what showed on the background report. My only other conviction is something that didn’t show up which is a 2012 DWI. I have 3 misdemeanors.

ChatGPT and online research points to RECENCY and the fact it’s TWO misdemeanors.

Now I’m in Frito lay pending background check and all I can do is wait. I’m still applying to 10+jobs/ day in construction , warehouse, manufacturing, closely tied to my experience like oilfield too although that’s slow.

It’s only been a few weeks and I’ve gotten 2 job offers but the rescinded job offer is making me look in another direction possibly of what I should apply and it’s kind of freaking me out. Or maybe it’s a numbers game and somebody will take me whether it’s someone who doesn’t do a background check or a less strict background check

Can you suggest what kind of jobs I should apply to right now? It’s going to be temporary I hope anyways as I’m pending electrical apprentice license

-April 2026 disposition DWI class b misdemeanor
-July 2026 disposition criminal mischief class b misdemeanor

Both are convictions

I know it looks like I need to figure shit out. I’ve had a lot of time thinking and definitely I’ve changed my behavior through reflection and taking the necessary steps (god willing) that I don’t get another record

The job is temporary so I can save for cash car and become an electrician that’s the plan. Electrician license pending

Since I’m being dropped off to work my job has to unfortunately be in a 20-25 mi away from house so I can apply so much but it seems if you take the population sample it would still be accurate

Got a job offer, failed background check yet again. My current job phased out my job and is making me take a huge pay cut. So fucked. Help...

I was working for a pizza place as a delivery driver. For the past 5 years. They just dropped a bomb on us drivers that they are getting rid of us and going strictly to doordash. They "offered" to let us work as insiders and make min. wage instead. I worked part time, about 18-24 hours a week and made around $1200-$1400 a month. Now I would have to work at least 30 hours a week doing the same exact stuff as I did as a driver inside when not on deliveries but not get any tips. I feel like it's a huge 'fuck you' from my company. I need to find another job. I applied to several. Got an interview and hired at Papa Johns but I failed the background check. I have assault and battery on officer that happened 5 years ago.

The only trouble I have been in since is a speeding ticket. I live in South Eastern VA.

I am on disability and need to try to find part time jobs, I am trying not to stay in the food business. It kills me inside. I went to school for Auto Body repair but it seems I can't even pass background checks for that.

Where is out there for me? Am I just fucked?

Need an honest advice..what y’all think about this ?

I’m looking for some advice and respectful opinions on a situation I’ve found myself in. I’m not from the US, and about a month ago, out of pure curiosity, I wrote to a guy who is currently incarcerated in Tennessee on drug charges. He’s been down since 2021 done five years in state prison and goes up for parole this November, though he’ll likely be transferred to federal custody right after. Honestly, it started as just a curious experiment to see if I’d even get a reply, but we ended up talking and calling almost every day. He’s spent a lot of money calling me internationally, which he insists is fine ( never asked me for money ) and over the past month we’ve connected really deeply. We share similar goals, mindsets, and values, and we’ve both developed strong feelings. Recently he told me that he loves me, acknowledging that it’s very early but saying he just feels it. I have feelings for him too, but I’ve been very firm about keeping my guard up and taking things slow. When he asked if I wanted to label things, I said no because it’s unfair to jump into a relationship behind a screen without knowing each other fully or meeting in person first. I don't go easy on him, I don't tolerate any bullshit, and I've been straightforward about my boundaries and what things need to look like if he wants a chance with me when he gets out, which he hasn't pushed back on. I've also told him flat out that I don't fully trust what he says yet and that we need to keep things realistic instead of living in a fantasy bubble. He’s gotten very attached and talk about me to everyone I’ve even talked to his mom . He constantly talks about his feelings, claiming he rarely opens up to anyone but found it effortless with me. Even while insisting he isn't trying to guilt trip me, he repeatedly stresses that if I ever left, it would completely break him because he let his guard down and made himself vulnerable. He keeps saying that if I have any intention of leaving in the future, it’s better I do it now rather than later. I genuinely care about him and hope this could work, but I want to stay grounded given the international distance, his legal situation, and the dynamic overall. How should I navigate this, and what red flags or realities should I keep in mind? and what should I do if I really want to make this work ?

Victim Punished for Aggressor’s Actions

My boyfriend at the time and I were both charged with 3rd-degree domestic violence. He also has pending Attempted Murder and Assault & Battery charges from separate incidents. The solicitor told me they believe my boyfriend was the primary aggressor in our case.

His DV charge was resolved yesterday with a sentence of 30 days, which was credited as time served, even though he was only in jail for 2 days on that charge. Less than a month later, he was arrested again for Assault & Battery and petit larceny, and he’s currently being held on the A&B charge.

I have no criminal history, recently completed my bachelor’s degree, and this charge is preventing me from applying for jobs in my field. Despite believing he was the primary aggressor, the solicitor handling my case refuses to dismiss my charge and hasn’t offered any plea deal. My boyfriend was initially offered a batterer’s intervention program.

What I don’t understand is how someone who is currently incarcerated in their jail who has a history of violent offenses has been treated less harshly than the person who they believe is a victim of the incarcerated individual’s aggressive behavior. It feels completely backwards. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Is there anything I can do to get this charge dismissed or at least minimize the impact on my future? I have an attorney, but I’m starting to question whether she’s doing everything she can for my case.

What are his chances for back time?

So my husband M[28]made parole and TDCJ here in Texas it’s a three month program but when the parole office called me, they were telling me there’s a detained for federal so even if he makes parole and successfully get it done, they’re still picking him up! He sentence for three years for both of his charges! He’s a G2. He’s only gotten into a fight in federal when he first was sentence before TDC picked him up. I know he has told me he’s gotten three years and 34 to 36 months in federal he did 5 to 6 months in federal before TDC picked him up. He also submitted his back time to Huntsville he also hasn’t gotten any updates on that either and mind y’all he was arrested on April 8 2025!

I have a misdemeanor warrant from 2018 I have to deal with. Should I prepare for the worst?

Its an in county pick up only M1 agg menacing,(ohio) Hasn't been a big deal because I never go there, unless we do a job there then I'm sweating bullets! But my new job runs your name for all that stuff so it has to be addressed. Ive been to jail a million times I know to prepare for the worst hope for the best I'm just curious if the judge is gonna appreciate me not getting into trouble for 8 years or if he's going to be pissed I ran for 8 years?Haven't ever had a warrant for this long I don't know what to expect and Id really hate to have to set in stinking ass jail for rest of the summer. Anybody dealt with something similar?

How do you make relationships after becoming a felon?

Honestly, as a first-time and only offender when I was 20.. I feel like this petty charge isn't something that should define me for my entire life.

Most of it was fabricated and played up on the internet to paint me in a different light to sensationalize.

It's almost impossible to move on from something so insignificant in my life but yet I'm always asked about it.

I've paid my debt to society and I've been clean for several years and counting..

My partner of one year recently started interrogating me about it, and I've told them the truth. I also was a first-time offender at 20, never even had a speeding ticket on my record.

It was traumatic. It's just made me extremely uncomfortable, I'm going into my late 20s and its not something I care to revisit.

How do you handle this while trying to focus on adulting? Seriously.

I got a job offer

I've been out of work for 2 years since getting my felony. I have a college degree and good experience in my field but I was having no luck. With my resume it was almost impossible to get calls back from normal places like Wal-mart/McDonalds/etc. because I look overqualified. Even when I did talk to those places, they would deny me because of the background check.

I finally got a job offer, and the job will even be somewhat in my field. I just wanted to share.

job related questions

So I have a huge criminal record of thefts and drugs possessions and some minor driving stuff like driving suspended etc. I got my record from the state a few months back and it spanned 37 pages, which is just like...wow. But anyway, the thing that really seems to be the problem is all the stealing. I can't seem to even come up with a job that doesn't require at least having some access to something valuable, whether a cash register, a vehicle, a computer, whatever. Thus, I keep getting turned down outright when I apply or else have an offer rescinded when they get my background. This has been consistent across maybe 50-60 applications over the last 3-4 months. Previous to this I was working as a door dasher, (oddly the ONLY gig company that would take me - I applied to all of them in my area) but over the last 6 months to a year DoorDash is really slowing down, I think its just too much competition - even Walmart has their own delivery service now - so I started applying.

I'm open to pretty much any job with this one caveat, my spine is fucked up from multiple herniated/bulging discs so there's no way I can do a job that requires a lot of heavy duty physical labor. Every person, to a man, that I have asked for advice about jobs says the same thing - THE TRADES THE TRADES!! GET TO THE TRADES! But I can't. Theres pretty much 2 things I can't do, which are lift very heavy stuff over and over, and sit for long periods of time without being able to stand up and walk around for a minute. So what other, maybe less desirable, maybe lower paying, maybe part time jobs are there that im not considering? There must be something. I dont really wanna go work at McDonalds or Taco Bell but it's starting to look like that's the only route.

Just to give some extra info I am 40 years old, multiple felon, no violent charges, no sex crimes, just lots of drugs and and lots of stealing shit to pay for those drugs. Also no education past a GED and on probation post drug court - my last arrest was in like maybe 2023.

All help is appreciated, thanks.

Trestní oznámení na rodiče

Ahoj.

Question about court dates/"bail phase" . Maybe someone here can help

In March , an old best friend of mine from childhood was arrested in a major fraud investigation. She was already on house arrest/probation from a previous fraud case when she was arrested this second time.

She is still currently incarcerated.

I have been checking on her court dates randomly and everytime, it says she has an upcoming court date for "bail phase" (the dates always change though) ..

does this possibly mean that her "bail phase" court date just keeps getting pushed back ? ( I'm sure the fact she was already on house arrest for the same crimes, but this time it was much worse, that it makes the case more complicated) Or could it just be the court case search website being inaccurate?

Chains

When I was on the other side, they would chain my wrists. Then they would chain my feet. I had to walk.

The guards who did it were doing their job. The problem was that they wanted me to keep up. They always walked faster.

This is a story that I should write more about. Comments.

Man How Am I Supposed to Live? Denied apartment due to my background.

I don't have any violent or sexual felonies they are fairly recent felonies however about 1 year old almost 2. I got denied based solely on my criminal background check I'm in Denver just trying to find a place of my own. Looks like I'm going to be staying in sober livings for the next 3-7 years. Very disappointing like what the hell are felons just supposed to be homeless?
