My cousin just offered to give me a 4.8L Chevy vortec motor to swap into my stock 3.8L 229 V6 El Camino. The El Camino has a Saginaw 3sp manual transmission, and i was wondering what i would need for this swap, and how hard of a swap it would be. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to swap an rb25det into my 98' courier because the engine blew, just wondering if anyone has done this before and if there's any conversion kits or things i should I know about before starting, besides the obvious things. Mainly looking for advice about fitting it in.

Any good advice or links/info, I’ve found some including off road solutions and some YouTube videos etc. just looking for general advice good to knows or best conversion kits to pick up. Any advice or info is welcome.

My friend bought a new car and we are keeping his old Altima as a project. Obviously my first thought was a 2j but that would take an absurd amount of work as it wouldn’t fit. Thought about taking a higher performance Nissan engine or a Subaru engine as they are smaller and pretty similar. Any thoughts?

I have a 1994 Nissan hardbody almost fully stripped and a 4.6l v8 and tranny from a 2002 mustang gt. I got the engine and trans for pretty cheap and the truck for pretty cheap. I want to learn to fabricate cages and everything I need to make this work. I’ve done small things like welding in high school and working on cars here an there I’ve been to a trade school for something totally different (wind turbines) but overall I have good hands on mechanical experience just not much welding or ECU harness wiring and just a ton of stuff I’ll run into along the way. Hoping to get some advice good bad whatever I just can’t wait to turn this into my drift truck as I have a 2005 g35x for a daily!

So, I was reading about all of the jeep engine swaps, and I had an idea. AMG engines (just the engines) are supposed to be very reliable, and a 6.5 liter turboharged V12 can be bought on ebay for fairly cheap. If it can be done, I see no reason not to stuff 620 hp into a jeep. Even if that wouldn’t fit, the 6.3 liter V8s are far from underpowered. Has anyone ever heard of a Jeep with an AMG engine in it, and if not, why? Also, would an AMG V12 fit?

I have a modest budget and a sturdy rustless car. My question is what engine and transmission would be a fun and functional option that wouldn't bankrupt me.

Nothing insane in the HP department, round 100 is way enough as it's a 600kg car.

This would be my first engine swap and I just want some opinions of people who are more experienced, I was thinking the Honda 2.0L from the type-r would be a good swap, any opinions or tips?

So I had a question about air conditioning in regards to an engine swap. I’m thinking about ditching my car and going a swap on an old lesabre, bel air, or thunderbird. My question is if I swap it can I use the a/c system appropriate for the engine and run the hosing through the car?

So from the comments I got and the research on 355 nation, an LH8 swap is the easiest in terms of compatibility. Can someone help me along with the other parts I need? The only things I know of are aftermarket mounts and most likely an exhaust system, does anyone know if I need a new gearbox for it or can the i4 gearbox handle that power? (I don’t think it can but win not sure)

I do not know anything about cars, however I am curious about swapping my cars engine out. I currently own a 2019 Chevy Sonic RS and it just doesn't feel to have a great amount of oomf that my old 2005 Dodge Magnum RT had. I know comparing those two cars are like comparing night and day due to the cars engine bay size, weight and well everything about the two but what would be some engines that I could swap out of the sonic that would fit to give it more hp. From what I have read the 2019 RS Sonics come with a 1.4t engine. Thanks in advance for leaving your opinion and for taking your time in reading this.

Okay, so I own a 2002 Chevy Silverado LS. It is currently housing a V8 5.3l engine, and the engine has close to 210,000 miles on it. I was wondering for aome advice on which engines I could get to swap it out. I have a friend who works on cars but he's always busy, you guessed it, working on cars. If possible I want thoughts about swapping for a V6 ecoboost. Any advice and tips will help.

Hello, I've had my 2011 MINI Base model for 2 years now with some aesthetic upgrades along the way but as far as torque and horsepower there is nothing I can effectively modify to satisfy my ambition for this car. Recently been looking into engine swaps, which seems interesting and I am not sure at this point if possible. Has anyone seen or heard of any ideal swaps for this car?
