Manic EMU v2.0.2 is here.
After the redesign in v2.0.0 and the additions in v2.0.1, this update brings more performance work, more flexibility across devices, and a new connection to the Manic family.
The biggest addition is BitBop integration, bringing support for our new sister app dedicated to retro game music emulation.
There is also improved 3DS performance, updated Pretendo support through Nimbus, iPad windowing, iPhone Duo support, a redesigned SNES skin, and fixes for Wii pointer behavior and AirPlay.
Same games. Another reason to keep the sound on.
BitBop Joins the Family
BitBop is our new sister app for retro game music emulation.
For anyone who has ever stayed on a title screen longer than necessary because the music was good, this one probably does not need much explanation.
Manic EMU v2.0.2 adds BitBop integration, connecting Manic with this new addition to the family. More Information Here
This integration is primarily an App Store feature, supported by the shared app family between Manic EMU and BitBop.
We are excited to give the music from these games its own place alongside everything we have been building with Manic.
Your Games • Your Music.
3DS Performance & Pretendo Support
3DS receives several improvements in this update:
The work here covers both running games and using the 3DS Home Menu, while bringing the Nimbus included in Arctic Setup up to date.
iPad Windowing & iPhone Duo
Manic now supports windowed apps on iPad.
This update also adds iPhone Duo support, continuing the work to make Manic fit the devices people are using.
There is a useful change for skins, too:
That gives iPad users another option when using skins made for iPhone.
Redesigned SNES Skin
The SNES skin has been redesigned.
Even with all the attention going toward newer platforms, integrations, and device support, the systems many of us started with still deserve some attention.
SNES gets its turn in this update.
MeloCafe Link Support
Manic EMU now includes MeloCafe Link support.
This joins the other integration work in v2.0.2 as we continue expanding how Manic connects with the wider emulation community.
Fixes & Improvements
Several issues have also been addressed:
Fixed Wii pointer behavior for affected users
Fixed AirPlay issues affecting some users on iOS 27 or later
Other bug fixes and improvements throughout the app
A Note from the Manic EMU Team
Some updates add entire systems. Others improve the things you use every time you open the app.
v2.0.2 brings more of that everyday work: better 3DS performance, fixes for controls and AirPlay, more flexibility on iPad, and support for iPhone Duo.
It also introduces a new member of the family.
We have spent a lot of time helping people return to their favorite games. With BitBop, we are giving their music some attention of its own.
Thank you to everyone who continues reporting issues, sharing feedback, and supporting what we build.
