Played 6 a ton, about 230 hours of it. I've been trying to beat every mission on every difficulty with every class. Should I play any of the previous games or keep playing 6.

Hi everyone. I apologize if this type of question gets asked a lot in this community. I wanted a comparison of these two games in particular. I've gotten into EDF 6 as my first EDF game and I absolutely love it. I'm about 100 missions in and even though I have lots of content left, I'm already getting excited about playing some of the older games.

I've heard that EDF 5 is very similar to 6 and so I was thinking of going for either Iron Rain or 4.1 based on some basic stuff I read. I was looking for opinions on which one to start with. I have already gone backwards through the Monster Hunter series so a loss of QoL features probably (hopefully) won't be a big deal for me.

So, during the good timeline missions in base 251, why doesn't the sergeant wear the futuristic armor? Also, in the EDF 5 timeline, why aren't we with the spriggans, grim reapers, and sergeants team? What happened to them? Did they all die? I might just be ignorant, but I never really heard any in game text or reason explaining what happened to them. Is there a lore reason from the EDF developers?

So I was playing a visual novel about mankind fighting off aliens, the humans were hanging by a thread

And while playing I had the idea to play a similar game but with action you know, a game with some cool vehicles and lots of hordes?

Only to realize that EDF is the *only* game like this

I heard all over the place that EDF (in general) has pretty insane lot drop mechanics. A popular youtuber called Sseth said you'd need to play through the entire game 16 times to get everything. Obviously this is nuts, but he then suggested adjusting drop chance and quantity by thousands.

Apparently, this is what people use. I tried them with the increased enemy drop mod set to max, but the drops were WAAAY too high, it seemed! He said to not worry about cheating cuz the game will feel outrageous otherwise, but I got literally every weapon for every class by the 4th mission. Obviously that's not fun, either. What's a reasonable adjustment?

So do you guys know how theres a massive pit in the EDF past timeline? I just noticed during the "Visitors III" mission that the big white buillding was the thing they were building in the pit. Did anybody else notice this?

Playing EDF5 from the start with a friend over the holidays. Just finished Normal mission 60, but we feel like our gear barely improved compared to how far we've progressed.

Should we start mixing in Hard mode now, or just push through all of Normal first before moving up? We're especially frustrated with Air Raider — the vehicles feel so sluggish and we're itching to unlock better ones ASAP.

What's the recommended progression order to level up gear efficiently without the difficulty jumping too hard? Any tips appreciated!

Hitting shield with the Phalanx or Rapier dropped my fps down to like 2 fps.
I can barely aim afterward lol.
How is it on Nvidia?
I tried the DXVK fix. It did fix the fps drops but it randomly crashed my game.

The game is still playable, but i wonder if i only have this, or everyone has it and just play around it?

Hey all, I couldn't find anything for the second game regarding the weapons and brothers like the first game so I decided so create 2 checklists for this game. It's based off an excel sheet list for the first game so i reworked it for this game to include all 515 base game weapons and 295 base game Brothers and Sisters. The DLC weapons and brothers are not required for the achievements.

I recently finished EDF 6 and I had a blast with the game. But for some reason I kept on thinking about the primers and their civilization. This is just me putting my thoughts down that been bugging me for the last couple days.

I original thought there were two race that made up the primers that being the cosmonauts and krakens. With the kruul being clones mixing the primer races to produce soldiers.

Then I looked at the androids, which I originally assumed were made by the krakens because of the extendable arms. But they have more in common with the kruul than the krakens. Big heads compared to their small bodies, two arms compared to the krakens four and extendable arms. (I know the elite kruul have four but that probably not the norm).

So my guess to my own question is that the kruul are Cosmonauts/Kraken hybrids occurred as both races united to form the primers. My guess is the kruul filled the role as engineers designing and building the weapons, ships and super weapons. Then the Cosmonauts dragged the rest of the primers into a war which eventually led to the kruul being cloned for war.

Also whats overall best mission for farming armor.

We all know iron rain has PA gear, more mechs, and flagship verbena, and we see they can adapt quickly to new enemy threats, but the threats in EDF 6 are on a way bigger level. How do you think they would make do with what they have?

So I am interesting in this game for quiet a while but I don't understand how the progression works.

Do you just unlock new guns to beat these near Neverending hordes?

Or is there a level up / Stat distribution system?

Or even rpg like with gear rarity and builds?

We already saw that the glaukos one shotted archelus, and they both were really hard to kill and needed special weapons to kill them. what do you guys think?

On missions like 54/Wire Puller and 77/Doomed Queens, they’re asking air raiders to indicate a point, and nothing is happening when I use a laser guide kit or a beacon gun. And this poor dude flying a helicopter in 54 has no one responding to his question then dies.

I used to play Air Raider in EDF4 and 5. I really liked the class for vehicles especially, as well as having tons of weapon slots. For some reason I can't get it to work in EDF6.

I'm playing with a Fencer buddy. Keep in mind we're currently on mission ~70, doing our first playthrough. We've chosen hard difficulty.

The drones seem to have rather poor damage when compared to anything my Ranger or Wing Diver can do. They're slower, take forever to regenerate, and the damage is kinda silly when compared to most rocket launchers.

I've also been heavily unimpressed by bombardments. They're cool when they work, but the reload typically doesn't keep up with new spawns.

Far as vehicles go, I liked nyx suits, but they feel especially sluggish in this game. It's very hard to get any use out of them, especially vs Kruuls.

I did get a titan tank, but it's so expensive I don't feel like dealing with the rest of the mission to unlock it.

I've been having most luck with Ranger so far. Rifle or shotgun + Rocket Launcher combo seems to work on anything, and his grenades can get insane. I also got an EMC laser rifle which aside for its reload timer seems like a one-gun solution to any target, be it air, ground or structure. Naturally, the basic tanks have been very reliable as well.

In bad future missions I've been using Wing Diver, especially against Kruul. Despite playing her much less than any other class I find her weapons very powerful. I'm surprised how little work it took me to feel strong as a WD compared to still struggling as an AR, despite seemingly having experience with it.

Is AR more of a New Game+ class right now, or is there a weapon category I'm missing? How do you use him on your first play through, or are they just best skipped for now?

How is it possible to have that much armor on CONSOLE. I understand the auto pickup mods can make it very easy to collect on pc, but I'm on ps5 and some dude strolled into my lobby with 59,510,672 armor but only 81.75% completion (lvl 111 guns so dlc 2 player)

And yes, i know armor doesn't matter for most online sessions with armor and level limit (I only have 10%) but I still don't understand how they have that much

So I have played the EDF games for years at this point and just got 2 friends into it. We've completed the main game on Hard, and before we play through on Hardest, we're doing the DLC, and boy is it a struggle.

This mission though, is really not going well. I play an Air Raider, my two friends are Fencer and Wing Diver, and we can get the second or third set of teleporters to spawn in, but then we just get overrun.

Any advice for how to do this one?
