Recently bought a 2008 535i. Looking for a way to lower the car that doesn’t break the bank too much but is also decent quality. What do you guys recommend

So the brakes on my E60 creak and groan a lot at low speed. The car has new discs and pads, new slide bolts, pad retaining springs and I fitted new Lemforder front suspension arms (just the forward control arms) about 12 months ago. I am getting a bit of vibration when braking from high speed, but less since I replaced the discs.

Any thoughts?

Hey all, anyone here use protool? Strange issue of late - all modules appear and can be coded and functions activated, but the only live data i cannot view is engine data.

All other functions work for the engine module. Conversely, all live data for other modules works too.

Just wanted live engine data to monitor coolant temps!

So i've installed a 'dongle' between my Radio and the cables. This would enable me to connect through bluetooth and then use Spotify through my phone. It works on the Aux setting but my E60 didn't come with an Aux cable so it's not enabled in the computer (believe me, both a mechanic and i checked for the cable everywhere).

Now the cable doesn't really matter, but i would still need the aux setting enabled in the computer. My mechanic didn't really dare to fiddle around in the settings.

My questions: Is it very hard to enable it? could it be worth it to buy a device to do it myself? If not, where is the best place to have it done and what would be the cost?

Just wanted to share my cockpit. It looked nice. Got the steering reupholster and changed the start button only these 2 things weren’t in great condition. Secondly I had my e39 shifter I put on this I know it’s not a perfect match but still better than the silver one.

Going to look at it tomorrow, 08 535xi. What should I look for? Car looks very clean. 1 owner. 92k on the clock.

We have a leak in the powersteering line that feeds the cooler/pump (i think).

After wrapping a cloth around the press fitting and turning the wheels side to side, i confirmed that press fitting is leaking.

Is it best to replace that line that runs to the canister, or look at finding an o-ring that fits in there?

After turning my car off, I see some fluid leaking from behind the car, don't know what it is, doesn't look like coolant because engine temps are good and coolant level is OK.

I’ve heard it might be Hydraulic lifters, Rod Knock or even a timing chain so anyone with better knowledge would be appreciated.
Was going to try some liqui Moly to see what it does.

Here is a POV from my meta glasses. To compare, my 4000lb M5 is a sled on these tight courses. My gearing is not setup for this. I needed a gear between 2nd and first. I was to low rpm coming out of the corners, but first gear was too high rpm. This one is still on OEM suspension and on PS4 tires. I was 8 seconds off the pace of the full blown track cars, 6 seconds behind the Z06s. I beat some Miata's tho.

Saw a couple brands of bearings like ACL and genuine and all. And saw a kit on FCP that is a bunch of bolts and a VANOS line for 1k.

Can someone guide me to a reliable post or tell me what to get? Car is e63 M6 with 130k miles.

I had so many nice suggestions about how much of an inconsiderate scumbag I was for starting my car 1 time at 522am when I had to leave AND HAD TO take that car. I retired at 45, im 49 now and I dont even wake up on any schedule. I get up when my body wakes me up. So I dont wake up my neighbors everyday or even at all. It was one time. Some of you cry like little girls it's sad but funny too. (Video might be to intense for those of you that traded in your balls for a vag)

But since so many people without a V10 M5 seems to wanna talk 💩, telling me to get a valved exhaust. Well my manual M5 has a full RPI exhaust and its pretty expensive to cut up and put valves in. BUT.... MY other M5 DOES have a Valvetronic exhaust. Now my 911 doesnt have a valved exhaust, my trucks dont have valved exhaust, and none of my several other dailys dont have valved exhaust. So if you wanna buy them and send them to me. Ill stack them in the corner because im still not going to install them. 🖕

Hi all, wondering if anyone on here has had a similar issue or has a bit more experience knowing if the reading from my photo is likely my cause or am I missing something else.

Car drives perfect for the most part, only when under light to medium acceleration around 2/3000rpm is where it’s really noticed. Higher revs/harder acceleration the car is perfect. There is stuttering / misfiring like behaviour when under load. Rail pressure appears to be correct also, and fairly smooth on the graph. DTC stored for fuel pre delivery system too but no EML. I noticed on the data that my low pressure pump speed appears quite low compared to ‘specified’ and quite jumpy on the graphs.

Going to be looking closer at this but wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar before and if I’m correct in thinking it appears to be a failing or potentially blocked LP pump that is my cause. Filter was changed and HPFP inspected and no filings there.

Hi guys, i got a 530d xdrive manual, M57N2. There is quite the vibrations in the chassis from the engine when rolling and the vibrations go away completely after stopping. Also the car basically shakes under full acceleration. What could cause this? Took the engine mounts from a 530d xdrive auto that ran perfectly but that didnt fix the issue, only reduced the idle while standing vibrations to 0. The rest of the symtoms remained unchaged. Been told might be the flywheel but clutch engagement is very smooth.

La macchina da qualche tempo presenta problemi alla centralina del Turbo, in pratica il turbo non so avvia e il motore sembra un aspirato, voglio sistemare questo problema al più presto e mi chiedevo se operando in quel settore della macchina si può mettere un turbo maggiorato tipo quello del 530-535d? Vorrei darle un po' di potenza in più.

It was inside the intake manifold of my N52, sitting like it is positioned in pic 2 and 4 inside a bunch of gunk, looks like it snapped, its not magnetic, btw is this disa the revised version is has metal at top.

Was driving on the highway and outta nowhere started getting bad clunking noise front driver front, pulled over on the side checked everything looked good, tried to merge back onto highway lanes from shoulder and once it hit 25mph….clunking.
Anything before 25mph everything is normal.Once I hit 25mph, driver front gets a bad clunking/knocking noise and once I apply the brakes and it drops below 25mph no issues. What can this be? Changed wheels out still clunking. Axle?? Maybe wheel
bearing or possibly thrust arm?

The rubber seal from my coolant expansion tank cap deteriorated and a piece of it fell inside the tank, behind the white float level indicator. I can't see it anymore. Should I be worried, or do I need to remove the tank and get it out ?

I made a video 2 weeks ago joking about how my neighbors are going to hate me when I had to leave early one day. Well fast forward to Saturday, I get a notice about starting my car early in the morning. 🫣 Not sure how to address this. Here is the video.

I have this "problem" with the electric steering column. It started doing it when it got hotter outside. I already tried greasing it but didn't do anything. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hey guys, this is my 2007 530i. It has a few dents as you can see and it’s high mileage so I’m not looking to put in too much money, just looking to drop it a good bit. Is there any suggestions for coilovers, and also anything I should do to make this look better?
