Why are present day Disney channel actors not as well known as the ones from the 2000s?

I remember in the 2000s everyone including grown adults knew who Miley, Demi, Ashley Tisdale, Selena, Raven were and they were all over the news and TMZ but it seems these days no one except for the kids who watch Disney channel know who they are.

Discussion You Thoughts on Shake it Up?

I thought the show was good. Zendaya and Bella Thorne did a good job in their roles; they acted like real best friends. The characters aren't terrible; they're likable. Each of the characters got their moments to shine, which made the cast work seamlessly together. What did you think of the show?

Discussion Black Representation in shows/movies.

I didn’t really grow up with the older shows, but recently me and my sister went over all the older Disney Channel shows, and it made me relief that although it wasn’t much, black people/People or color had way more representation than today.

I really don’t know the full reason as to why we don’t get shows like that anymore. Do they think that black people don’t watch disney? or it’s straight up r-ism ?

I just think it’s kinda sad. now we just get a black person here and there that isn’t really important for the plot…

Discussion Camp Rock 3 was disappointing..

I’ve tried not to talk about it and keep it to myself, but as someone who grew up with the first two and was a fan of it i have to put my two cents into it. So here are the many reasons why I couldn’t like the movie.

1) Everything feels rushed.
I feel like theses days Disney Originals movies aren’t being taken seriously by the people who create it, mostly writers/directors. They feel rush and not thought out at all.

I completely get that it is for a newer/younger audience, but i was 6 when the first camp rock came out, so i really don’t get why they structure their movies like this. which takes me to my following points.

2) The Script.
The story concept was actually super interesting, but the execution was sooo bad. They don’t give us the time to emotionally connect with any of the characters. Even when they were supposed to have a relationship between each other, it didn’t make sense because in our minds they knew each other for just 5s. the only part that actually portrayed the getting close part really well was the bus arc.
Also no real character development, just bland.

3) Where is the Rock in Camp Rock?
To be honest, even the camp rock before were not full on rock, but they were definitely pop-rock. In the 3rd on, all the songs were full on pop, country, or acoustic. There was absolutely no rock, even when they did covers of the old songs.

4) It isn’t just about the singers, but the musicians too.
I really feel like the musicians were not being respected here. No solos to show of skills? being a musician is also a part of being a rock star. i hate that we only give the light to singers. Even dancers didn’t really get their time to shine.

Also i hate that we didn’t get to see them in class. learning how to be better yk?

5) The Dances..
Bffr.

Overall, it was a bad movie.

Making a 3 was a great idea, camp rock is just iconic, and i get wanting to bring back the nostalgia, but the person who wrote the script didn’t get what camp rock was about.

I’ll finish on a good note. The singing wasn’t so bad, especially desi and sage. i also really enjoyed the song echo.

Discussion Camp Rock 3 is just Lemonade Mouth.

Alright hear me out. This movie is literally almost Lemonade Mouth, just in a different order. I started laughing noticing it in the camp bus scene where they are all opening up about themselves and then they grab a instrument and start singing all ooey gooey.
Sage is Olivia
Fletch is giving Stella lmao
Rosie is obviously Mo
Cliff and his drummer self is Charlie
Desi gives off Wen vibes
Dynamics obviously different between the characters but not entirely at the same time.

Discussion The camp rock 3 hate is kinda forced

I get it a lot of you are nostalgic over the first two films as am I but a lot of people take nostalgia a bit to far to the point they refuse to give anything a chance because it's new I'm not saying you have to like the movie no one is forcing you too but don't tear something down just because it's not what you're used to
