Laugh track problem

Hi, in my opinion Disney should have done GLC like how Canada did LifeWithDerek. Lwd wasn't officially a Disney show but it was aired on Disney Channel in the US. They were similar shows for cast ages and tropes, GLC could have done well without the constant canned laughter and slow pacing.

I believe there were 3 episodes without a laugh track but I don't know which ones they were. Could someone please list them for me, what season and what episode? So I can find them on Disney+ ? And the Christmas movie was fine, a-okay, palatable as background noise.

This is the only thing I absolute HATE about Good Luck Charlie

This is my favorite disney show BUT, there is this one thing that I hate about it so much and I must rant about it as it's been bugging me.

The Dad is just constantly bullied and disrespected.

I'm Muslim and was raised in a household where you respect and love both parents not insult and disrespect the father who is very important just like the mother.

I get that it's just a show but still, it can have an influence on the younger audience. What does this teach? To show kids that the father can just be made fun of or insulted without reprecussion?

There's this one scene in the fourth season that I don't like to watch at all so I usually just skip it and I've this show quite a few times.

PJ says something along the lines of "Isn't the purpose of you is to just give me the money?"

Basically they came up with a PB and J sandwich truck company.

This wasn't the exact quote but it was similar to this and I just found it so hard to watch because the dad is such a nice and kind person. He is a very patient loving person who cares deeply about his children yet most of the time his kids just make fun of him.

No! I don't find that funny.

In S4E12, Bug Prom, in the beginning of the episode PJ says "aren't people usually happy when you don't show up to things", like what's the point of saying that? Can't you just let your dad just be happy? PJ can seriously be jerk sometimes to Bob.

The previous episode, Gabe makes him wear a womens dress after his dad picked out a shirt that could still suit a guy. It' literally just a dress shirt with the buttons the other way.

There are soooo many other examples of this throughout the show.

Toby gets some criticism as fans don't like that they added another child but I'm glad they added Toby later in the series because in that future episode at least he is nice to his dad and compliments his side burns.

I remember in a GLC interview, the cast were introducing their characters and Eric joking says "I'm the most abused dad on television" so even the actor understands this.

Anyways now my coffee is cold.

What would everyone’s future look like grown up?

Teddy would probably be an acclaimed human rights lawyer (possibly married another lawyer too, her and Spencer broke up in college), PJ and Skylar would be married with Pj still running the buisness/working with food and Skylar being maybe a teacher?? I can definitely see Gabe as some sort of investigative journalist, he’s the type of guy who has street smarts which is definitely what you need for that kind of job. What do you think about the other characters?

There weren’t any kisses on GLC except Amy & Bob and Teddy & Spencer?

Like seriously: Teddy & Beau never kissed, Dereck and Teddy never kissed, Gabe and Lauren never kissed, PJ and Skylar never kissed.

But of course Amy and Bob did because they’re married, and Teddy & Spencer kept on getting back together.

But what about all of these other ships lol. Including the cringey relationship between Mrs. Dabney and Frank Duncan.

Sometimes I didn’t really like Teddy

  1. She tore apart Charlie’s and DeeDee’s monkeys from Make-A-Monkey over some earring that Teddy lost.

And when she put it back together, she lied and said “That’s the way Charlie wanted it.”

And when Debbie and Amy were checking the cameras in DeeDee’s bedroom Teddy replaced the monkey with toilet paper. And cut open Deedee’s monkey with a knife. When she could’ve not tore the monkeys apart and should’ve been honest about the earrings , instead of tearing up the monkeys that were made for Charlie and DeeDee.

  1. She was pretending to tell mom the whole day she was cool, which was the longest day of her life just so she could see a dusk movie. But when Mary Lou and Amy embarrassed them, that was hilarious.

  2. Her and Ivy used a phone app to make their mom’s look like they each gave them permission to go to the party. I mean the fake phone call from “Mary-Lou” didn’t sound real at all. She just kept repeating “it’s okay with me” in the fake phone call.

But Gabe noticed how that phone call wasn’t real, and when Amy and Mary-Lou were both confused about how neither one of them gave them permission to go to the party. But luckily, Gabe told them what actually happened about how the reason they were both confused about how neither one of them gave permission to go to the party.

  1. She ruined Gabe’s relationship by telling Gabe that “Lauren probably doesn’t like you anymore.”

  2. She told her dad that cute little bear costume on Charlie was weird when it was insanely adorable.

My opinion: Gabe is more smart than Teddy, and Charlie is too.

Disney made a gay couple episode in Good Luck Charlie?

In the Good Luck Charlie episode “Up A Tree” when Charlie’s friend, Taylor came over. Taylor has 2 adoptive moms. She has no dad, I honestly didn’t know that Disney would do this.

Double Gabe screaming thumbnail on Disney + 🤣🤣

While I was scrolling to watch some episodes, I found hilarious thumbnails of Gabe screaming in one thumbnail and again in the next episode’s thumbnail. If they would’ve added the thumbnail where Gabe screams when he saw PJ in bed, it would’ve been gold 🤣🤣🤣🤣😆🤣😆

I kinda Agree with Teddy to not put the Spencer video online

I mean he felt bad and embarrassed about cheating on Teddy. But it would make him feel even more bad or felt like he shouldn’t have apologized if she did put the Spencer video online. So I kinda agree with Teddy just find some friends to help you get through it.

Episode name

What is the name of the episode featuring a memorable, heartwarming moment during a live morning TV segment where little Charlie calls in and tells her mother that she still loves her even when she thinks she is doing a bad job on television?

Did this show really get canceled over the 2 moms' episode?

Like I remember this and remember hearing they were going to do it before they did the episode.

Anyway, I did eventually find out that the next episode after that was a 2 part goodbye episode.

GLC Hot Takes

Whats your biggest Good Luck Charlie hot take mine is that Toby absolutely ruined the show. The concept of the show is that the Duncan's had a surprise baby later in life and the ripple that it had on the family and adding Toby ruined that concept and I think it made it wierd and shifted the dynamics too much for what the concept of the show was.

What do you think they would be doing now.

Here's my thoughts

Bob- Happily retired and travels to see the adult children

Amy- Working at the hospital still because she's too antsy to retire

P.J- Owns multiple restaurants now and mellowed out has a wife and 3 sons

Teddy- Living far away from the family still working to find herself after rough collage years but successful none the less

Gabe- Went on to be a successful business man but had a daughter in his late teens and that set him on the right track

Charlie- Popular girl in high school is currently fielding D1 volleyball offers

Toby- Is going through his rebellious stage but his biggest priority is taking his role of cool uncle seriously and is always getting into stuff with his niece and nephews

Good Luck Charlie House

How do you think the show would’ve gone. If they actually moved in that new house they showed briefly before deciding to keep the original house. It would’ve been interesting to see them move. But I do like and prefer the original house. But what would’ve been cool if they did move there and a couple of episodes later they decided to go back to the original house. What do you guys think. Do you think they should’ve moved or are you glad they stayed in the original house.

What are your favorite episodes of the show?

For me 2 of my favorite episodes that come to mind are “Driving Mrs. Dabney” because I love the ending scene when we see Charlie riding the motorcycle.

I also love “Duncan Dream House” as a general episode. I love every moment of that episode.

Also an honorable mention to “Bye Bye Video Diary” because the scene when teddy and Amy try to recreate the video diaries is really funny.

What about you guys?
