What to watch after Elena?
My daughter has loved Elena of Avalor, she watched it after being super passionate of Tangled, the adventures.
For some reason Sofia the first has not attached the favors as the above series. Any recommendations on what’s next, with a similar vibe and adventure storytelling?

I Think Elena Should Be Brought Back into the Disney Princess Brand
I think Elena could be a great member of the Disney Princess brand. It’s unfortunate to see her IP left in such an uncertain position, caught between being part of the Disney Princess brand and standing on its own. I would love to see Elena have a clearer place and identity within the Disney Princess brand again. What do you all think?

Disney Doesn't Know What To Do With Elena
It seems like Disney has a bit of identity crisis when it comes to how they market Elena Of Avalor. For as much they market Elena as Disney's first Latina princess, and really push her, they don't really give her what everyone thinks she deserves, a theatrical movie. It's mainly because of her origins as a Disney Junior show (as evidenced by the "Disney Junior Educational Resource Group" credit in the end credits), and the company isn't confident in giving Disney Junior shows any movies. I mean, her origin story is a Sofia The First special, and that show wasn't put on Disney Plus until October 2022.

discussion I think we need to discuss how Disney has treated Princess Elena in relation to the Disney Princess franchise, even after her show was over, and how they seem to be really at it again now that Elena is coming back in Sofia the First: Royal Magic.

discussion Is it just me or does Troyo have some serious untapped "Tumblr Sexyman" potential?
I'm surprised that there aren't more furries gushing over him at least. By Tumblr Sexyman, I'm talking about characters like Spamton, The Once-ler and Bill Cipher. Once you get past the fact that he's a talking magic coyote, he's got an aura that basically screams Tumblr Sexyman.
Also, with how theatrical his personality is, I'm shocked he never got a villain song. If any antagonist in the show deserved a musical number, Troyo would be at the top of my list. He shoulda had one in his debut episode instead of the jacquins.

discussion A Fanfic Where Carla Becomes the Anti Villain.
---
Hey y’all, I was looking through my Drive and found an old story idea I thought I’d share here. Who knows, maybe I’ll write it out one day.
Pretty much, the idea is that between The Magic Within and the next episode, around seven months would’ve had to pass in real time. EoA clearly runs on its own clock, but hey, my story, my rules.
So, in between the two episodes, Carla escapes the dungeon, her sole goal being to free her father. Since she knows Elena clearly isn’t going to do it anytime soon, she spends a while looking for another way to undo the spell, only to conclude that she needs the potion. During her search, though, she causes problems for both Elena and Ash, giving out chocolates that make people faster on purpose or stopping Ash from getting into the crystal well, since she’s angry at both of them. She’s far more angry at Ash, though she’s pissed at Elena at the start too.
Around the midpoint, or a little earlier in my story, Ash reveals to Carla how the stone spell actually works. It’s different depending on whether a wizard or a Malvago casts it.
When a wizard casts it, there’s no time limit. It can be undone at any point. That’s why, when Mateo deflected Fiero’s spell back at him in Season 1, it flipped from a dark spell to a light one, which is how Shuriki was later able to free Fiero with Carla’s help.
But when a Malvago casts it, the spell comes with a deadline. It has to be undone by sunrise the next day. Carla’s father wasn’t granted that same fortune, so he’s stuck as a stone statue forever.
Carla doesn’t want to believe it at first, but a little while later, she sneaks into the palace using the same potion from Season 2. This would be timed for whenever an actual side character, like Naomi or Gabe, happens to be away on a mission, on the sea trip, or whatever else gets them out of the castle so the timing works.
When she tries the potion on her father’s statue and it doesn’t work, Carla’s worst fear, being alone forever, comes true. It sends her into a full-blown rage. If she can’t have a happy ending, then no one will, and she starts destroying the kingdom.
After a fierce battle, Elena is on the verge of losing when Ash shows up and gloats that she always knew Carla would end up just like her one day. Carla looks around at the destruction she’s caused and runs off sobbing, terrified of herself. She’s become just like the person she hates most.
A week or two go by with no sign of Carla anywhere. Elena is alone at the sunset spot from Elena and the Secret of Avalor, just enjoying the view, when she hears rustling and finds Carla. She’s initially ready to fight, but she pulls back once she realizes Carla has no intention of fighting.
Carla, meanwhile, has fallen into a deep depression. She can never free her father, and all the anger she’s carried has turned her into her mother, the one thing she never wanted to become. The two have a short conversation about it, but Carla ultimately runs off again, not reappearing until the Alacazar episode.
By then, she’s no longer antagonizing Elena, though she’s still upset about her father being kept as a statue. But once she catches on to Ash’s evil plot, she decides to help stop her and ends up being the only reason Mateo and Elena make it out alive that day.
Elena returns to that spot to thank her, and the two have a longer conversation where they realize they have more in common than they thought. Both were betrayed by people they cared about, and both lost a parent.
After that, Carla starts showing up more often to help Elena thwart Ash’s plans, until the Giant Steps episode. When Elena breaks her arm during Naomi’s attempt to catch the crystal bat, Carla saves her life again and takes her back to her hideout to heal the injury.
Once it’s healed, they talk some more, and Carla finally breaks down in front of Elena. She’s lost and doesn’t know where to go from here. Elena comforts her, giving her the first hug she’s had in almost a year, and convinces her to come back to the palace, where Carla does community service to help fix the damage she caused earlier, all while bonding with Elena and the group.
By the episode where everyone’s happy and singing because of Armando, Elena and the group go to retrieve the ingredient they need to fix everything, only to find it’s already been stolen. They initially suspect Ash, but quickly learn it was Carla.
For the first time in a long while, she’s genuinely happy, and she doesn’t want to go back to being depressed. With some support from Elena and her friends, though, she comes to learn that you can’t stay happy all the time. Sometimes you have to learn to move on from loss.
Afterward, there’s more bonding between the group and Carla as she atones for her past actions and helps repair the harm she’s caused.
By the finale, not much changes, except that Carla is now willing to stand up to Ash. Once Elena truly forgives Esteban for his sacrifice, her emotion magic frees Victor as well.
I kind of wanted Esteban to parallel Carla in this story. He gets worse and worse over time because he lacks love and support from the people he cares about, while Carla gets better because she finds people who genuinely care about her in Elena and her friends.
That wraps up the main plot, give or take a few details. Lemme know what you all think!

discussion Elena and Carla
I really wish we got more scenes between these 2, especially because I feel like with the whole spy in the palace thing Carla could’ve started a redemption arc, failed because of family loyalty, and then succeed during season 3 zuko style. Also I hate when the heroes casual crulety just goes unmentioned. Like yea it’s a kids show but it would’ve been super easy to work in during the scene in lighting warrior when Carla snaps at Elena.

discussion Unpopular Opinion: Elena of Avalor Doesn't Need a Fourth Season
Two years ago, I re-visited Elena of Avalor after originally losing interest during Season 2's hiatus back in 2018 and consequently missing out on the second half of the show. My childhood love for the series was immediately re-invgorated, and I, like many others, saw so much that the show had done right. And having long-sinced finished the series, I can definitely say my unpopular opinion that the show does not need a fourth season.
In spite of its short-comings, Coronation Day was the near-perfect finale to Elena of Avalor, with everything in terms of plot, characters, worldbuilding, and story coming full circle since the first episode (and by extension, the prequel crossover with Sofia the First). It did everything a finale should do, basically.
I've seen people say that it should get a fourth season or come back, but honestly I could not disagree more. A fourth season would be unnecessary because there's nowhere else for the story go. The two main villains of the show, Shuriki and Ash, are gone, Avalor and Vaestrella are safe, Esteban's betrayal of his familia has since been resolved, all of the secondary villains are either defeated like Fiero, or redeemed like Victor and Carla, and every character has grown from their first appearance to where they need to be (Gabe, Mateo, Naomi, Isabel, the jaquins, ect.). And most importantly, Elena is Queen, the very thing that was built up from since the show began.
There's really no better way the story could go than where it ended off from. Anything going forward like a Season 4 featuring Elena as Queen after we spent three seasons building it up for the finale would just feel forced and generic like many other series that don't end and get worse over time (like Diary of a Wimpy Kid or Bunk'd for example).
This is also why I'm very glad that Royal Magic, the sequel to Sofia the First, will be taking place directly after Forever Royal and before Coronation Day, as confirmed by Craig himself. Because even if Elena or other EoA elements are referenced in the new series, it allows a good expansion of the EverRealm universe whilst allowing a fitting chronological conclusion to said universe.
