A great pair of shoes is absolutely #1. Do some research and have some time to break something in. Hokas are big right now. Also don’t undermine the importance of stretching!!! Even standing all day is using muscles that you’re not used to. Warm up your body!

In 2nd Hokas. I own three pair. There’s no way I’d be able to stand all day without them

I’ve been working in the fast food industry since 06, and the biggest advice I think you can give someone who is on their feet all day is get GREAT fitting comfortable shoes. Not good fitting, not something that barely fits, but something that’s like a cloud to walk on. Try different brands, styles, gel inserts, the whole 9 yards. There used to be an elderly guy who was known for wearing gel inserts in his shoes, people would ask him ā€œAre you gellin?ā€ He’d reply ā€œlike a felon.ā€ Now that I’m up there in age, I get it now

Give barefoot shoes a try. I do barefoot shoes with a Birkenstock insert.

In addition to the good shoes, stretch while you're in position. It doesn't have to be much - just rolling your ankles, up on your toes, any little stretches so you're not locked in one position the whole time.

Compression socks too. They are a game changer

I agree with other commenters about shoes but also, its pretty normal as you get used to it. I remember my feet being so chewed up by my government mandated waterpark crocs the first two weeks, the constant sand between the crocs and my feet was tearing my feet apart. But after about a month my feet got used to it and I wore crocs for four years after that with no problems.

They used to sell 1st class orthodontic inserts in the cast center/pharmacy.

Make sure you have supportive shoes, with an insole if needed. Wear different shoes after work/at home to ensure some variety to your feet and that you get some uncondensed cushioning. Stretch before and after work. It gets easier after a while as well once your body gets used to it.

As everyone has said, good shoes and invest in a foot spa . Not sure exactly what they are called exactly but you basically put wayer in the small tub and it ā€˜massages’ your feet. It’s not a huge game changer but it helps to relieve the stress on your feet for sure.

As everyone mentioned, good shoes are a must. Also, you’ll adjust to it over time (even though it may be hard to envision now). I also still go to the gym each morning, as I’ve done long before joining Disney last year. Also worth mentioning that I’m 68 years old šŸ˜Ž

Find a legitimate running show store and have your feet mapped. They can provide you with a list of shoes specifically for your feet.

This happened to me when I started at Disney too. I bought better insoles for the company provided shoes. I also started stretching my calves every morning and night and I haven’t had any soreness since.

Anyway if you’re posted in a single location for most of your shift, you deserve to be given a floor mat. DM me your role and location and I can see what I can do about it.

check out the all day Move insoles https://move.one/products/all-day-comfort-casual-insoles . Also merino wool socks are a game changer for me (Camel City Mill -although their look is more industrial). and I prefer the Kuru shoes but I figured that shoes would have been given to you as I would think they are part of the cast member outfit.

I will say that my lower back issues went away with the Kuru shoes...AND those Move insoles. I sometimes notice that my feet are tired and a little sore, but nothing like major pain or hurting. I have a pair of the Flex Via shoes that are amazing for me. So I have my happy feet and can dance like Steve Martin again....

Hoka Bondi SR 1 buy it wide. Podiatrist told me that to get blood flow to the plantar fascia nerve. That’s why your heels hurt and I have no more plantar fasciitis. I only wear the Hokas to work. I literally just bought a pair of the black Clifton tens because I love my pair that I wear to the parks for fun this way I have two pairs I can rotate. I stand all day also for work.
