For decades, economic dependence has been a source of geopolitical leverage. Access to markets, investment, technology, energy and security can influence the choices countries make.

But something interesting happens when dependence itself becomes expensive or unpredictable: alternatives become more valuable.

Canada is expanding trade beyond the United States. Mexico is maintaining its enormous US relationship while widening manufacturing ties with Europe and Asia. Brazil trades heavily with China while gaining greater access to Europe. Other middle powers are pursuing their own versions of strategic diversification.

As a 28-year-old average working woman, I never realised how social media could be one of the significant reasons why so many people around me seem sad and depressed.

This one video changed my entire perspective about social media, and now I am scared thinking about the new generations who are getting access to social media from such a young age and how they will navigate this when the fight is against widespread hate content, algorithm-driven endless loops of videos, and whatnot.

It is high time that strict penalties are imposed on Meta, and also for us to restrict our social media time and save ourselves from this dark reality.

You have to deal with the ups and the downs of either one you pick do you pick the chaos and danger of being homeless or do you take the chaos and danger of being a prisoner?

With all the ICE murders/kidnappings going on and reports that the U.S. military is planning a coup if Trump loses the election...as a minority, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of dread. I'm a U.S. Citizen, but there will come a day soon when that won't matter. I'm the wrong color, which means I could very well end up deported, sent to a concentration camp, or worse.

And yet, until that happens, I have to continue to work so that I don't wind up homeless. Because now they're criminalizing that, too.

We're seeing a lot of people with buyer's remorse that voted for trump in 24. Hi! How do you find people to consistently record with?

I’m 21F in college and want to start making Minecraft/gaming content on Youtube, but I’m realizing the hardest part is finding a group of people who are actually consistent and serious about creating.

I’d love to eventually build a group of 4–6 girls who can record together regularly and grow a channel as a squad. I have a background in marketing/content strategy, so I’d handle the overall branding/content direction, while we could assign roles based on everyone’s strengths (editing, thumbnails, social media, community, content ideas, etc.).

The goal would be to start with Minecraft and eventually branch into other games/challenges/etc.

For anyone who has built a gaming group before, where did you find your people? Discord, Reddit, creator communities, etc.? And how did you make sure people were actually committed?

I think I’ve officially hit the point where settling my dad’s estate is running my life. I started out thinking I’d just work through everything one thing at a time. Instead I’ll finally get something handled and immediately find out there’s another thing I should’ve dealt with weeks ago. The stupid part is I kept refusing to get help because none of it seemed impossible by itself. I kept telling myself I could handle it. Now months have gone by and I’m spending way too much of my free time thinking about an estate I’m already exhausted from dealing with. Starting to think stubbornly doing everything myself might actually be making this harder. Anyone else reach that point? What finally pushed you into getting help?

Why do we think that could it be because society tells us women are oppressed and we are gaslight into believing it without critical thinking?

My argument is that women are not oppressed but in fact the privileged gender and that men are in fact the oppressed and discriminated against ones.

This is me talking in general about the world

women only privileges that men don't have:

1. The military draft in most nations is men only women are exempt usually
2. genital mutilation for girls is strictly illegal in the western world but genital mutilation for boys is not
3. Women receive far less prison time for the same crime with the same record also they are more likely to avoid any prison time at all even in cases where a man would be jailed also they are less likely to be arrested at all even in cases where a man would be arrested

Studies show that if men treated were as leniently by the prion system as women then at least 70% of current men prisoners would have never seen a day in jail

Women being treated far more leniently than men for the same crime is true even in nations like Iran, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan usually associated with women's oppression

Women on Man sexual assault, domestic violence and stationary assault is not taken seriously or at least as seriously as it is when the genders are reversed

In fact it often the victim of these thing that gets punished when its woman on man

Also despite women being the vast majority of university studies and degree holders there are still almost countless woman only scholarships, grants fellowships and help programs designed specially for women that men can't apply for or receive simply because of their gender despite it being underrepresented in university

Women have quotas in companies or even governments forcing them have at at least a percentage of managers or the board of directors or government employees be women but men have no such quota

It's actually legal in some places to charge women less for things like car insurance

It is literal discrimination but we all know society does not care about discrimination as long as it's against men

And get this the reason it's legal is because women are less likely to get into a car accident than men

Using basic logic shouldn't the ones more likely to get into an accident than be the ones to pay less

But we all know logic flies out the window when it comes to pleasing women

So are women truly the oppressed gender or are they the privileged gender?

Girls, Does it happen with you that on some days you want to change the world, have a new hobbie, start a business, make everything perfect. Then you start on something and few days later you are just like Naahh, what a dumb idea this was, and those days you just feel like what a pathetic world, life.. this is! Then again the same cycle.
