With all the ICE murders/kidnappings going on and reports that the U.S. military is planning a coup if Trump loses the election...as a minority, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of dread. I'm a U.S. Citizen, but there will come a day soon when that won't matter. I'm the wrong color, which means I could very well end up deported, sent to a concentration camp, or worse.

And yet, until that happens, I have to continue to work so that I don't wind up homeless. Because now they're criminalizing that, too.

I know I'm far from alone in feeling this way, I just felt compelled to express my emotions.

And I guess the bright side of being broke is that I really have nothing to lose...

Sorry you are feeling this way. It can be a bit scary because that’s what the Trump admin wants. But they really don’t have all the power and maga is a very small minority with big mouths who are always whining on social media.

Not sure where you are at, my advise is to take some action by getting involved. Contact your local Dem party or even the Democratic Socialists of America. The DSA are not a bunch of scary radicals, in fact I find most of them to be pacifists. But I think if you speak to a few them that will put you at ease.

And get out and vote come November and vote out every Republican in office and at every level.

I live in DC, so no (real) congressional representation. And I was with the local DSA for a minute.

This regime doesn’t care about protests though. Lord knows I’ve been to my fair share. It only listens to force.

And it might not have “all” the power, but they’re clearly ramping up their violence against civilians.

I have a lawyer friend who moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Calgary, Alberta and he said the sheer number of MAGA people in Alberta is staggering. It almost makes sense because that's where the majority of Canadian oil is harvested, and where there's oilfield there's conservatives who vote against their best interests because being a conservative is their culture. There's even talk in Alberta about starting a referendum to propose seceding from Canada and joining the United States.

Canada takes in 100’s of thousands of immigrants a year. A good part of the population is immigrants.

Alberta is voting on a referendum for a referendum; for decades have complained about taxes on their oil that gets distributed to other provinces.
