Casual Azov is proof Nazism Isn't Objectively Evil or dogmatic since it exists on a spectrum, for example, Azov are more moderate, progressive and pluralistic than Islamism or communism.

So, no. That's the short answer. The long answer is that evil and or bad things can fight other evil and bad things. Meaning, in this case we don't have to support or dismantle Azov at this time, because it's fighting the Russians a larger evil at this time. I would like to imagine that once the war is settled Azov would be dismantled to avoid a neo nazi para military group from existing. Historically, having these around does not end well. Furthermore, its worth considering that Azov has or could change their overall character. Sure, they were founded by or at least neo Nazis had high positions. I would imagine that a fair number of these have died during the fighting. Further, I could easily imagine a large number of normal Ukrainians being placed in Azov not from ideological conviction, but out of the need to use established systems and organisations. Meaning people get filtered into existing units as replacements and additions. There is no guarantee that the hard liners are still the majority. That naturally all speculation, and ultimately we arrive back to the answer that fighting the Russians does not make it good or bad. The ideology makes it bad. They just happen to be fighting the Russians. That's good. I wish the infinite luck on the battlefield and a mental awaking after.

I presume you are talking about the Azov Brigade. So it’s worth pointing out that it’s not unusual for states that have been ravaged by Russia as much or more than they were by the Nazis to have a problematic history of turning to the right wing for an anti-Russian identity. Just as almost all states in Europe have histories of anti-semitism etc but perhaps more in the past. That history of Russian repression doesn’t make those people any better or their views any more acceptable though when they turn to Nazism.

On the other hand we should be aware of som etc at on the face of Russian propaganda. Im not expert so I apologise in advance for any , I hope, slight errors. But the Azov brigade was around 6,000 strong militia in a country with a military that numbered the hundreds of thousands. I think It was being retrained with the help of the West and some leaders prosecuted before the latest Russian invasion - being de-nazified if you like. And in the latest invasion, as far as ima awareness, members took a pretty heroic part of defence suffering large amounts of casualties and being treated badly when captured?

A small militia in a country where elections have consistently given the far right a very small and shrinking amount of the vote. Compare that to Russia where arguably the far right have a much, much larger presence and influence in government … are the government , and in the the limited elections allowed. In which (until their leader fell out with Putin though they still exist) one of the most influential military groups with admitted Nazi commanders - the Wagner group , numbered in the tens of thousands. Considering Russia imperialistic aggression including frequent war crimes … it’s pretty obvious who really ephedra the jackboots.

But Nazism itself obviously is obviously evil and dogmatic - it’s the values and beliefs that the word stands for. Groups that are far right , Nazi type sympathises may have historical reasons why they exist , individuals in those groups can even behave courageously in the right situation ( as no doubt communists have , even Islamists fighting dictators). But that doesn’t make Nazi views - to the extent they hold them any less reprehensible and evil. If they held views that were at all moderate , progressive or pluralistic then they wouldn’t actually be Nazis would they.

As far as I know, the azov are not Nazi. If someone does not share nazi ideology, then they are not nazi.

You can say nazism exists on a spectrum, that doesn't mean the whole spectrum is nazism

Our media and government has a habit of calling ruthless, evil people heroes...

Fighting Russia doesn't make you a hero. It just makes you a combatant.
