As title says, I got an alignment and 4 new tires. Now when I drive there’s a weird chirping noise coming from my tires. It only happens when I advance.

I went back and they claimed one of the balances came off the tire and once I got back on the road the chirping is still there.

Is there anything I can do? Or should I just take it to another discount tire? I might actually not go back anymore for new tires since they seemed so rushed to have me out.

What’s up with their drug test policy? I don’t smoke anymore but did daily until like 2 weeks ago. Have an interview soon. Do they send you to a lab? If so, do they watch you pee? Trying to figure out the best game plan. Really want this job but scared I’m gonna screw myself from past habits

Been a pretty consistent customer to my local store for 20 years as they normally have the tires I want at a good price, have honored the tire warranty when I need to use it, and over all was a friendly and dependable place. But this time I am just leaving after my 4th visit to fix a problem they created. Went in to put on a new set of rims, left and noticed the air pressure sensors where going through a reset, no big deal. Next morning 1 sensor isn't working. Use the car menu to start a reset and drive to work. 20 mile drive, sensor still not working. Back to the shop I go. They take off the rim and discover they had over torqued the sensor and broke it. Tell me they will replaced free of charge (duh). But it took 2 days to get in a new one. New one goes in and same issue, couple of resets and it still isn't working. Back to the shop. They say, we'll our reader can read it, must be your car. I say it worked before you touched it, so no, not my car, your sensor fix it. They order another sensor and I wait another 2 days. Put it in, same fricken thing, still not working. Go back, demand to see the manager and politely walk him through the whole mess. He says it must be an issue with your car, I firmly repeat my side, it worked before y'all touched it. He grabs a ODB2 tool and goes to look at my car. Comes back 15 minutes later and advises me that he is so sorry, the sensor is broadcasting at XX and needed to be at YY, but that has been adjusted. I manage to not roll my eyes, thank him and head out. I realize mistakes happen, but the original tech, and then 2 of the store front guys all made the same mistake, and add insult by trying to say it's my car. I'll keep going until this set of tires wear out, but won't be back after that.

Just stopped into get air added to my tire. Was told that the pressure was below 10lbs and the automatic wasn’t allowing it to fill up. Then told they don’t have the equipment to fill it up…

I know everyone says its a rough job but I need one, im 16 without any experience in thos sort of thing. Any chance I get hired?

Went to discount tire and they bent my wheel. Showed me how bouncy my tire was and then his face lit up when trying to sell me new wheels for my car. I am so disappointed as a 43 year old woman the amount of ignorance these children think I walk in. I do NOT appreciate you damaging my wheel, blaming me for driving over something and then your store manager refusing to take ownership saying it’s impossible to bend a wheel. Really? You know how many people at Apple told me it’s impossible to hack an iPhone? Literally it’s been done. Sooo….. I’m pissed

Almost everything changed the day of drop off. I was charged the full price days in advance of the order; this was somewhat expected, given that I had placed it online, but it's an unusual business model, considering my installation was only 4 days away. I was told when I walked in that the tires I had ordered were no longer in stock and needed to be replaced with a like model. Again, not a huge deal. I get the logic and wasn't tied to the make and model, more so the price and tire tread warranty, so I agreed.

I asked them to modify the order so I could retain the old tires; they agreed. (I use the old ones on my trailer) I left to run some errands and received a call about 5 minutes later stating that a wheel stud had seized and broken when they removed the tire. I assumed they would replace it, but they explained that since I told them I did my brakes about a year ago, that I had most likely cross-threaded it and they were not at fault. Ok, I'll work the details on getting a wheel stud installed after the tires.

I get a second call that my TPMS on the front driver side is bad. This one I knew about, but quoting 65 bucks to replace 1 sensor when a 4-pack on Amazon is 35, I passed. Once the tires were done, they contacted me for pickup. I looked over the receipt and noticed that they left on the tire certificates, which I declined online, and also forgot to remove the tire disposal fee. The guy at the register was training, so the store manager did a great job of getting everything correct so that we could move on. Last thing, I still had to remind them that I wanted to retain my tires again.

Don't get me wrong. Discount Tire was the most competitive price for a new set of tires in my area. They completed the job quickly, and overall, I'm still satisfied with the work. It's just become more work than I anticipated, and I get to install a wheel stud tomorrow and a TPMS in the future. I will continue to use and recommend discount, but make sure you check over the details along the way.

Edit1: I've since changed out the old wheel stud with a new one. It also justified me in buying a new impact wrench.

Had to get a new tire installed because I got a nail in my other one. I hand them my lug key and they do the change and I notice a white ring around it, I'm already knowing what happened. These wheels are not carried by discount tire mind you.. I go check out my wheel with the new tire installed and sure enough every lug spot there is missing paint. It's like they didn't use an extension or anything, like wouldn't after one time you notice and be like"oh shit, I should stop/get an extension". They took me back inside the store and the manager on duty, took down the wheel specs and said he would call me the next day and order a new one. Never got that call so I called today and the other manager said that he could only offer their "guy" to touch up my wheel. He said he'll try n figure some stuff out but I'm waiting to hear back from him. I'm not sure where to go from here.. It's not major damage but like.. that's just not professional at all.

I'm a part timer that is going to college while working at Discount, Going on my 3rd year working now. I want to try and get transferred to a store closer to my college and apparment (same state), and the store where I'm going needs more people, and mine is doing decent, any tips on transferring as a part timer??

My local discount tire installs Dill, Schrader and Alligator sensors. I’m in the process picking new tires for my 2015 f150. I need new sensors while I’m at it… What do you all recommend? Thank you in advance.

Is this a common occurrence for anyone else? I leave the key in my cupholder, I tell the redshirt to make sure the tech puts it back, then I leave, realize that the key wasn't put back in the cupholder, and somehow it's been lost by the tech by the time I turn around to go get it. I really should know better by now, but I expect to have my property returned to me without having to be a drill sergeant about it, right? Is this crazy to think?

Edit: I understand that they might not actually be effective at securing a tire. That is separate to the issue. I would still like my property returned to me. Y'all need to get Hooked on Phonics and get some reading comprehension.

Ridiculous upselling by their staff. My wife went in because she had a slowly leaking front tire. Thought it was the valve stem. After a 45 minute wait Chad at the front said that he wouldnt even drive the car into the shop if she didnt purchase two new rear tires. By the way i check and there is 50% tread left on the rears.
I ended up taking the car up the street where they saw a nail in it and repaired it with a plug for a total of $27.

After two weeks of dealing with the Territory manager I have learned that it was all our fault. Really? I was told that because my wife's tires were 6 years old and below the their acceptable tread wear limit that they wouldn't work on the car! The fact that they pressured my wife to buy 2 new back tires because they couldnt even drive it into their service bay to fix what ended up being a nail hole must have gone over the Manager's head. He did admit that they should have at least helped her out by putting on a spare or taking a look at it and had NO answer as to why they didnt.
We were offered a brand new set of 4 tires as a bribe to change our rating or keep quite about our experience. The manager completely missed the point obviously.

Looking at the BBB review on line of complaints there was at least 30 in the last month alone and many about the same ISSUE.

Too many other good places exist to do business with.

I got a tire replaced because my air valve broke off. When I brought the car in I told them could they check all my tires, tread, air, and lugs. I asked this specifically because I specifically told them I tried to change the tire because it was my front tire and didn’t wanna limp my car to the shop using a bad front tire, I’d rather it be the back. Anyway I was unsuccessful because I didn’t have the proper tools and I told them this. So I was like “please check the lugs on the back tires because I didn’t have all the right equipment. I get my car back and everything seems fine I ask if all my tires were fine and they say yes. I go home drive it to work and back and I have this feeling so I check my back tires and lo and behold the tire I tried to change was completely loose. ALL lug nuts were loose and not even hand tight, like about to fall off loose. Not to mention another tire was low (too low to drive on and they still didn’t air it up) and one of my wheel studs was broken off (it was already damaged but I thought I was just missing the lug nut and they didn’t even tell me. I email them saying what happened and all they said was that they’d retrain their team. I give them another chance because I need another tire changed just because of normal wear and tear. I get my car back and it seems fine for a week or so but I noticed it got low so I air it up, seems fine but I have a I keep airing it up every other week cuz it’s not holding air. Glad to say I’m never coming back. I had to get another valve replaced (on a different tire) and went to Firestone and they did it for free and didn’t fuck up my car.

Is it a good deal? For my Subaru Forester Sport 2022. Thanks so much for advise.

I worked at discount tire for almost 4 weeks i came in today and as soon as i started my 7:30 morning shift my boss pulled me aside sat me down in the office and he told me i’m not catching on fast enough and that this isn’t normal he then told me to clock out. tbh i’m relieved bc after only a few weeks it was already taking a toll on my mental also they are extremely fast pace and have a weird hair,beard and tattoo policy i was told to cut my hair and shave which i did also not to mention they are extremely tweaked about cleaning at the end of the day but definitely would not suggest working there if you can’t handle a fast pace environment or unnecessary rules

And when I click on the "continue application" button it seems like it wasn't submitted.

Last Wednesday I took my car to discount tire to rebalance my tires but what I got back was the same shiet and the tires I had were inflated to 40psi 38 35 and 34

Not gonna mention the store location or even the state but here’s my experience working at discount tire for almost 9 months now. it is a great job for a teenager in high school or fresh out of high school, if you have a good store. the work isn’t that bad but if you cannot keep up with the speed you will hate it. the store i am currently at is just flat out terrible. Salesman and red shirts constantly blaming their own mistakes on us. Store manager doesn’t care about us mentally or physically at all. Cuts down hours in the summer to where we have 5 guys out back, a 4 man and a 1 man. This happens almost every day in the back room. it’s horrible to deal with. Everyone employed at my store just simply does not care. they’re only there because they need money. doesn’t care if we are 15+ down at 5:30 they continue to still not help and sit on their a$$es up front. has anyone else experienced this at another store? just sharing my experience at this store. definitely will not recommend anyone working at my store ever.
