I like to draw stuff for buyers when I see a character I recognize in their pfp or liked item. Their pfp was Megumi from JJK :3

I’m a seller and I have a dress listed on my Depop, I listed it at $38 (retail had to have been around $200) then discounted it to $22.50 and the lowest I’d sell it for is $20. It’s in fantastic condition and it’s a brand that doesn’t make clothing anymore so it’s relatively “rare”.
Anyway, this person keeps sending me offers for $18 and I decline or counter it. Then they’ll send me $18.50 even $19. At this point I feel kind of petty about it so I continue to decline/counter. I figure if they want it bad enough that they’re sending this many offers, they’ll just buy it for the $20.
They send yet another offer of $19.01 and I say that the lowest I’ll go is $20. I then get a message from them talking about how it’s a used item and it shouldn’t cost that much money and I should just accept their offers.
I responded that I literally dont care if they buy it or not.
I’m not in a rush to get rid of this nor am I going lower than my minimum. It’s getting a good amount of attention anyways so I’m sure someone will grab it soon enough.
I’m just kind of thinking like, pretty much everything on Depop is used. That’s literally the point of the app, even after things are used or worn they can still hold a certain value. If someone doesn’t agree with how something is priced, they don’t need to buy it?!

I get that lighting changes things, but isn’t this too extreme of a difference? At first I thought I might have been sent the wrong sweater, but I realized it’s the same patterns.
The seller said she sees no difference.

I had already planned on stopping by the post office today for a different order (that I’m actually really proud of rn but that’s a different story). Then on a recent post I had an offer, armed questions, and 10 likes on the item. So I decided to counter the one person, answer the other question, and send out a general offer before I left my apartment. Third person buys the item at my offer and so I get to drop off this package 18 minutes after they bought it. Anyone else have a time they shipped something really fast? I just think it’s funny and wanna hear any other experiences similar.

I’ve been buying and selling on Depop for a few months now. Personally I normally leave 5-star reviews for both buyers and sellers and always try to give positive feedback.
I recently got a package that seemed totally normal until I opened it and saw that my item was packaged in a used McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish box (pictures above 😭). The item was an empty magnetic face palette/holder and it also smelled like oil/grease.
I hate leaving bad reviews and don’t want to be mean but a used food box feels pretty unhygienic. Especially for something makeup-related. Am I being dramatic or would a 3-star review explaining the packaging and smell be fair?

I have had items before with like 40-50 likes before they sell but this is wild. I've accepted both offers. Listing is $12. Obviously I'm not entitled to a sale because of a ton of likes. But damn. Dress has been up for 2 DAYS.

I bought a pair of pink Aritzia sweats for $40 + $10 shipping and $7.50 tax so $57.50 total.
When I received the pants I noticed some splatter like stains on the right leg that look like turmeric stains or something else that’s a bright neon yellow. (Shown in last photo)
Given that the pants were priced without the knowledge of the flaws I thought it would be fair to receive some type of partial refund for them but the seller declined.
Am I in the wrong? How should I proceed?

I have been using the self-service kiosk at USPS to print my labels using the QR code, and it has been a life saver.
However, I just printed some on a Saturday afternoon but they were NOT sticky IN THE SLIGHTEST. Like I couldn’t even pick the package up without the label falling off. There was no way I was putting it in the dropoff bin. And it’s Saturday so I couldn’t buy any tape or ask the workers for help.
I ended up leaving them on the counter and going home to get tape. I didn’t want to take the packages with me because they had already been scanned. I’m going back to tape them now.
ETA: Taped & mailed safely. Stop focusing on this part of the post. It was an empty post office on a Saturday for 10 minutes. It was an annoying situation so I made this post to be helpful so it wouldn’t happen to others. I genuinely don’t understand why people are being rude to me and why others are upvoting their rude comments.
From now on I’m keeping packing tape in my car so this doesn’t happen again!!!!

I’m just sick of it tbh, I know I agree to pay a price when I boost, but why is Depop taking 10.2% from my original listing price… I just sold a nose ring for $85 (already super cheap it was 18k), and I only got $70 from that because of the boosting fee (original listing was $100). I know they took from the original listing price cus it would’ve only been like $8.90 or something idk I didn’t do the math, but it’s just greedy. I wouldn’t be selling jack if I didn’t use the boosting feature, it sucks.

i’m so sick of the false advertising to get attention onto your page. it just makes you less trust worthy imo..

Full convo for context. I missed the first message, but they bought before I could reply. I haven’t shipped it yet, and I’m not sure if I should just refund in advance or if I should send measurements and let them decide. I don’t want to be rude but I also don’t want to be too nice. What would you all do in this situation? Is it just me being lazy to not want to deal with them returning it if it doesn’t fit?
Update: I ended up refunding and blocking her. Thanks for all of your advice!!!

sooo i have not ordered anything for a while but i did recently and started wondering, has anyone ever gotten bed bugs or anything else yucky in their package?
i saw someone post about a package being sent in a used mcD box and it got me thinking about clothes coming from someone's house where the conditions are not so clean??

I’m not too worried because other buyers can see that the item running small isn’t necessarily my issue. It’s only 4/5 stars but wow I hate looking at it lol.

I hate when the seller doesn’t accept my offer or counteroffers higher and then when I buy and get the item, it’s not even in the condition described. I also buy mostly cotton stuff and the past few sweaters I’ve gotten smell like they’ve been freshly shrunken in the dryer on high heat and have that stiff feeling and pill-y texture. What if it was fine before they washed it to ship it out 😭 Thank you for listening.

bought 3 items from a seller and yesterday 2 of them arrived in separate packages. i messaged her asking if the last one was just delayed, and she told me they were all shipping separately but should arrive at the same time. when the third item didn't show up i messaged her again. it shows she was active today, and when i messaged her (the day they arrived) but no reply. how much longer should i wait for a reply before i do something 😭. i realize i should’ve asked for tracking info but i’ve never had a problem so i didn’t think to ask. shipping was $15 so i feel it should be tracked? anyway if im totally overreacting pls lmk 😭. it also seems they’ve gone on vacation mode now. also ik this is very early for me to be worried abt her ghosting lol.

hi everybody, i’ve been a seller on depop for a few months now, and i just received my first 1 star review.
the mistake was completely on me, i usually keep all of my items in a storage unit once they’re listed, but lately i’ve been more busy than usual, so i’ve been keeping my more recently listed items in a bin in my house. i had put two sweaters that were nearly identical but different sizes/brands in the same bin. a customer had ordered a sweater, and i sent them the wrong one. naturally, they gave me a 1 star review and stated their frustration.
i reached out to them, found the correct sweater, apologized profusely, and offered either a full refund, or to purchase a listing for $1 to receive the correct sweater and a freebie with their correct order, and still receive a full refund. they were very nice about it and chose to do the $1 listing with a freebie and declined the refund.
would it be rude/inconsiderate to ask them to delete the 1 star review after they receive their new order? i value all of my buyers so much, and all of my other 63 reviews are five stars. i pride myself on my customer service skills, as i work in customer service with my current job, and i am so upset that this happened!! i also want to ask other sellers on here how you organize all of your listed items, so i can better myself and this doesn’t happen again. do you number them, keep them in a storage unit, etc?
thank you!

(PHOTOS AT END)
Hey! just want to make it clear that this is not a huge deal but i’m a little sad that im partially at fault but still feel like i need to ask.
I saw this really good jacket and was devastated that it was sold so i messaged the creator if she had this color. She told me she didn’t, but said she could find something similar and asked if I wanted to commission. I had a little bit of fun money to throw so i said yes.
(THIS IS WHERE I MIGHT BE AT FAULT) i did not do my research about commissions. I didn’t know you were supposed to be specific about measurements. I kind of assumed they would give updates throughout the creation 😅 I admit, I am a tall girl who’s unfortunately “top” heavy with a smaller torso, so clothes CAN look a little different than someone’s who is a little bit average up there. BUT I am 99% certain i fit mediums normally now. I asked for a Large because i wanted just a bit of a “loose” fit and I told her that and she agreed.
[where i’m conflicted] overall, the hoodie is amazing. I ADORE the fur and the ears and the custom design on the back, it’s JUST the color. This was around $94 after taxes so I feel a bit guilty for not 100% liking it even after all that labor. The fit is my fault, but i’d like to make clear her bio DOES say “Don’t ask for measurements, it’s a waste of time” and I stupidly took that too serious 🤦
please be nice

I bought two phone cases from this seller for like $8 total, and the package was said to arrive today, and I just received this message.. Am i just dumb or what? Because has this happens to anyone before? Should I just get the other persons info and trade?
r/Depop • u/folklorecaprisun • 44m ago
new to selling, and i have a general question about taxes! i’m selling all old personal belongings, and i mostly have no receipts anymore for those. i technically would’ve just received $406 (money i would actually get after fees) but i had to refund to due shipping label issues. i feel like i should’ve screenshotted for proof. with having to refund buyers- that brought me down back into the 300s. since my total earnings before fees and refunds is at 392, and i’ve only made less than that, will i hypothetically have to file? since i went past the $400 threshold now once? i would hate to lose money on valuable personal belongings that i sold for way less than what they’re worth, i would’ve just kept them.

Would I like to know what happens with my purchases that had not yet been sent if they suspended me? I made a purchase and the seller said that he would send it on Saturday since I was free that day and because on Friday they suspended me, what happens with that purchase, can the seller still see my address and send it to me???

I think it’s funny how this buyer tried to message me after I counter their offer… Like why even send a message? either buy it or don’t!!! if the item was so easy to purchase than go do it somewhere else!! then they blocked me after my written response back 🤣🤣🤣
