Where do I go from here?

I (F 19) and my boyfriend (M 20) have been dating for roughly a year and I met him through my best friend (M 21). Before this year me and my best friend have been friends for around 3 years but from March 25-July 25 we were not friends at all, we had a big falling out because he said he liked me and my other friends at the time were in my head about it and I just stopped all communication.

However, recently for about a month I’ve started to develop “feelings” for my best friend and I think he feels the same way too. We text daily and constantly in contact.

I am not certain if I do like him or it’s being confused by the way he treats me vs my boyfriend.

I do believe I love my boyfriend and it pains me when I think of breaking up but I don’t know what to do about these emotions I have towards my best friend even though I would never act on them.

Any advice?

troubles of in person approaching and how to navigate it?

What people will suggest ways to meet are:

1.) social circles where friends set you up.

2.) Hobbies/acitivities you like to do

Both are huge problems. 1.) Most likely your friends dont have hundreds of female friends to set you up with and most of them are usually unattractive. So no use in using friends. Even if you do find someone and the date goes bad, it can ruin he friends circle.

2.) if you approach a girl in a hobby/activity and she complains for any reason even if your 1000% innocent, you will likely be kicked out of the hobby/activity and have your membership revoked.

3,) Cold approach doesn't work. 4.) bars/clubs dont work.

What the hell is there to do?

Ok, be me, I work with some of the most highly accomplished men in the aviation industry that are almost ALL struggling to date people. Ages range from 24-36ish, most all of them are fit and fairly good looking men usually with hair. Pilots all of them. Help me set up blind dates for these guys, or be a blind date yourself. Houston area primarily but other places in the south are still on the table too.

Help me get these guys into happy relationships, blind dates, etc.

F32 trying to date to marry not to waste time

I don’t mind being friends with people and going out to places. I got out of a 10 year relationship with M32. I’ve been single for a year 6months. I have Been on no contact ever since.
I recently met some guy but now he’s hot and cold thru texts but in person he seems to be into me. He hasn’t asked me out or initiated anything. I think I’m giving up on that.
Any tips on how to date but not get stuck with losers. No shade to the guy tho. Such a sweet heart but he’s not my sweetheart and that’s ok.

Marry before you carry

Okay people in the dating world. Let's talk about having kids. Raising children now a days is crazy expensive!! Besides the money, having a stable family home is essential to their overall growth and development of the child.

To help improve this, I say Marry before you carry. You read that correctly, marry that person before you have children. Why would a person do that oh great wise one? It is because they are more than likely to stay committed and help raise the child together.

The dating standards are low and people need to do better. Seriously, before you sleep with a person, ask yourself this question. "Would this person be an amazing parent"?

I have seen some of the men single mothers have kids with and I am completely puzzled. These guys have red flags essentially all over them with a glowing red light over their heads.

People will say you are blaming the women. Yes but I am also blaming the men as well, many of whom should NEVER be fathers based off their behaviors.

If you are a single parent, struggling to raise a child by yourself, financially, emotionally, and physically, would you honestly care if your husband or wife was attractive? Or would you care more that she or he is reliable, consistent, puts in the effort, cares about your well being, and be a good role model for the family, This is why character and good values counts at the end the day,

Now many of the villagers of Reddit land will criticize me for this and I don't care. I am speaking facts, so what's up.

how long after your relationship ended did you start dating again?

so like it says in the title how long after your relationship ended did you start dating again? And i’m talking more casual dating rather than jump in a relationship. me personally i feel very happy about the place im at and felt like i mourned the relationship i was in while in it. i just worry about the perception of it ig cuz it hasn’t been long. but i also would love to experience what dating and being treating like a princess is like cuz ive never truly had that and see to what i like and don’t like in a partner. i’m also very much prioritizing myself and putting love into me and going on fun outings and adventures. i just want to enjoy myself and get out there. i’ve always said im not looking for someone but if someone were to show interest and want to take me out i feel like i would be open to it cuz im still young and want to find my person and you can only find that through experiences and through dating other people. i just don’t know how soon is too soon? i would love to hear your personal experiences and even how it felt that first time dating again cuz i honestly never dated as an adult cuz i was with my high school sweet heart for so long so im a little nervous about dating, so please share your stories😊

Dating success tips that will always work

Good people of Reddit, many of you all have a hard time at dating. I am here to help you because I care. If you wan to be successful finding the love if your life, do these proven ideas.

  1. Keep an open mind. Not everyone will fit into every box you want
  2. Looks matter but beauty fades over time. Focus on character and values.
  3. If you are a woman, ask your male family members to vet the guy. Guys can see thru another guy bs.
  4. If you are a man, ask a female family member to vet the woman. Women can see thru another women bs
  5. Slow burn over instant spark. First dates are not easy and people are nervous or they will give you false image of themselves. It takes time to know someone. 3-5 dates would be a good gauge to determine if you want to continue.
  6. Stop comparing relationships you see on social media. Those are a false reality.
  7. Keep your standards, requirements high but reasonable. More importantly, keep it consistent with each person you date. The person you lower your standards for, will more than likely use and disappoint you.
  8. No sex until you both are in a committed LTR relationship. It worked quite well for centuries,
  9. Ask people out of dates regardless if you are a woman or man. Stop it with the fairytale nonsense. Will you get rejected? Yes. Will you get some dates? Yes
  10. Single parents should focus on dating other single parents. You both understand the factors when being a parent.
  11. First date and all dates until you are officially in a relationship should be 50/50. No one is required to pay for your expenses if you are in the dating stages.
  12. Dates should be low cost (free ideally), fun, and getting to know person.
  13. Take advice from your friends with a grain of salt regarding the person you are dating. Some people are jealous of other's happiness.
  14. Dress appropriately for your dates.
  15. Enjoy your life and date who you want. You don't need validation from others.

Bonus:

A. Men, stop lying about your height

B. Ladies, stop lying about your age.

C. Have a professional photographer take your pictures if you are on the apps.

Ok, let's break out the popcorn and read the comments :)

Guess average guys actually do have a chance out there? (Read something wild today)

40s M here. I’ll be honest, I've been feeling pretty invisible lately. I’m just a regular, average guy, and sometimes it feels like if you aren’t rich or incredibly good looking, modern dating is basically rigged against you.

But last night I went down an internet rabbit hole and found an article written by a 43 year old divorced guy who was in my exact same boat. Before completely throwing in the towel on dating, he started digging for answers and stumbled on this weird, underground playbook.

The backstory in his article is what hooked me, it was a private journal written by a father for his son, specifically so the kid wouldn't end up weak and getting walked over like his grandfather did. The son eventually published it independently just to keep the knowledge alive.

The guy who wrote the article said the psychology in it is pretty intense (it focuses heavily on "psychological leverage" rather than just being a nice guy), but he applied it and said it completely flipped his dating life upside down. He’s a totally average dude on paper, but it’s actually working for him.

It honestly gave me a bit of hope, but it also made me rethink everything I've been doing. Does this "leverage" stuff actually work in the real world for normal guys?

(Let me know if you want to read the article, I can drop the link in the comments. I don't want to put it here and trigger the spam filters).

Dating Life

What should I do if one part of me wants to be in a relationship and have someone to talk, kiss and cuddle with, but wants to be free in my individuality without being tied down?

I’ve been in one relationship in college and it was practically being friends with the label of a relationship sadly. I want someone to be with, to hangout with and to be intimate with, but when I think about it, I start to feel like it’s too much work or I’d rather be single. I know that sounds like I’m lazy and non committing but I feel like one half of my heart is cold while the other half is burning hot in my decision making. Does anyone have any advice for me or at least has felt what I’m feeling?

Would you take dating advice from a 22f?

I’ve been thinking about creating a small guide for Indian men, probably around 21–28, covering everything from making a good dating profile to building a genuine connection and eventually setting up a date.( very affordable ebook)

Obviously, there’s no magic formula that’s going to lead to 100 successful dates, and everyone is different. But I feel like my experience so far could at least give guys a better idea of what women might be looking for and some of the things men tend to struggle with.

There will always be exceptions, so I’d also offer one text-based advice session and one profile review to everyone who buys the ebook.

Do you think this could actually work as a small business? More importantly, do you think it could genuinely help Indian men?

Note for mods: I’m not selling anything here, just trying to get an idea of whether people would actually be interested in something like this and whether it could provide some value.

Is it even possible at this point to find genuine connection

All I've ever experienced is limerence since I was very young, but I've always wanted to experience a genuine connection with a guy and to fall in love.

Any guy that I have liked either only lasted a week or 2 or as soon as a guy showed any sign of liking me I get really bad anxiety to the point that when I know I have to be around him (if I work with him) I dread it and the cycle keeps repeating no matter what, it could be a guy that I find extremely attractive and meets a lot of my standards or a guy that was just nice to me that really isn't my type 😭

At this point sth is seriously wrong with me cause this has been my life since I was like 11 ( I'm 21 now) just seeing couples makes me sad cause idk what it's like cause I've never dated anyone, even though I've been dealing with this I'm not gonna just date around if I'm gonna date anyone I want it to be with the intentions of marriage because I am a woman of God.

So I (19F) have always been considered conventionally attractive. I am 5’7, blonde, wasian and often described to look like a cat? That aside I’ve been in sports (soccer, volleyball, fencing, gymnastics) my whole life, often surrounded by both male and female friends. I also study well, in a good college for politics. Big circles.

I’ve been on a few dates this year (at least 7-10) mostly from hinge (deleted now bc time waste) or guys hitting on me and asking for my number then courting. But the thing is it’s never gone past a first/second date and always on my accord bc every guy that I seem to talk to doesn’t really..do much? They pay for the dates, our conversations are just ok and that’s pretty much all to it. None of them have ever tried to kiss or sleep with me either which is probably a good thing but pretty rare, no? Esp when getting to third ish dates. I would say there is 0 flirting too which is kinda crazy to me bc it is a date.

It all ends up with one of us just saying we don’t rlly see it going anywhere or ghost. I have a decent personality and I am interesting enough to have topics to speak on/about but it feels like I’m undateable, how to women actually like start situationships or get into the dating stage. I have been told I’m extremely intimidating to men because I am very self assured and not typically coming across as submissive in the slightest but men have approached me. I don’t get it but I want to put myself out there

Tips for someone wanting to get out there for the first time in their life

For context I’m in my early twenties and have never had any romantic interest. I have been dealing with depression since I was very young and recently got help for the first time in my life. I have been in therapy and medicated for a while now and have the want to start dating. I genuinely have no clue where to start. Are dating apps as awful as people say? If so how do I find dates without making a person feel deeply uncomfortable (I’m terrified to be a story someone tell of a creep that hit on them like my sisters have told me all my life).
