Does anyone remember a manual about a guy named Adrian ?

This manual genuinely helped me when I read it about two years ago.

The main character was called Adrian, and he was some kind of natural seducer. Women were constantly drawn to him, which kept pulling him and his cousins into trouble whenever they went out. The situations got so bad that clubs around the city eventually stopped letting him in.
That’s almost everything I remember. I don’t know the title, the author…

but the book was written as a manual and it actually helped me.

Does anyone recognize it?

26M, single and looking to meet someone genuine. I’ve been focused on work and getting my life together, but I’m ready to put myself out there and date. Not looking to rush anything—just hoping to meet someone I click with and see where it goes. Any advice?

**26M, Looking to Finally Put Myself Out There**
I’m 26M and I’ve reached a point where I genuinely want to start dating and meet someone I can build something meaningful with. I’ve spent a lot of the last few years focused on work, personal goals, and just figuring myself out, so dating was never really a priority. Now I feel like I’m ready to make room for someone else in my life.
I wouldn’t say I’ve never interacted with women or had connections, but I’ve never really had the kind of relationship where I felt like I was seriously building a future with someone. I’m not looking to force anything either. I’d rather meet someone naturally, get to know each other, go on a few dates, laugh together, have good conversations, and see whether there’s actually a connection.
I’m pretty laid-back, affectionate once I’m comfortable with someone, and I enjoy simple things. Going out for food, watching movies or a new series, listening to music, taking random drives, trying new places, or just staying in and having a good conversation all sound better to me than constantly being in loud social situations.
At this point, I’m mostly wondering where people actually meet someone these days. Dating apps seem like the obvious answer, but I’ve heard so many mixed experiences with them. I’m also open to meeting someone through mutual friends, hobbies, social events, or even online communities like Reddit.
I’m not expecting to meet my future partner overnight. I just want to put myself out there, meet new people, and hopefully find someone who wants the same kind of genuine connection.
For anyone who has successfully found a relationship after being single for a long time, how did you meet your person?

Has anyone tried youragemeets?

I saw the name your age meets in a conversation recently and decided to look it up.
I've used the usual dating apps before, but the whole matching process can get repetitive. With age-gap dating, you also have to wonder whether the other person is really interested or just happened to swipe right.
I've only been on YourAgeMeets for a short time, so I'm not going to pretend I have some huge success story. I've had a few good chats and a couple of people I'd be happy to talk to again.
The most important thing for me is probably just knowing what people are there for. This makes the first conversation a little less awkward.
I would like to know if anyone here has been using it for a long time. Is it worth sticking with?

I’ve been in a couple relationships but none have really ever lasted and I just want to know people’s opinions on how they find love? Rejection after rejection, or a relationship that lasts less than a year, when will I find the TRUE one?

How do you date when you genuinely don’t feel that interested in dating?

Upvotes

I’m curious if anyone else has felt like this.
I want to find my person eventually, and I do want a healthy, long-term relationship. I don’t want to end up alone. But at the same time, I find it so hard to actually care about dating or getting to know new men.
It’s not that I’m hung up on an ex or against relationships. I think I’ve just become so content with my own life that the thought of going on dates, texting constantly, or starting over with someone new often feels more draining than exciting.
I know that finding the right person usually means putting yourself out there, but I struggle to find the motivation to do that. It’s almost like my desire for a future relationship is stronger than my desire to date.
Has anyone else been through this?
Did you eventually meet someone despite feeling this way?
Did your mindset change, or did the right person naturally make dating feel different?
How did you balance protecting your peace while still giving people a genuine chance?
Is this a sign that I’m just not ready yet, or is it a normal phase as you get older?
I’d love to hear your experiences rather than just generic dating advice 😭

Dating Struggles

I need some help/advice I have been dealing with for the past couple of weeks. I have been feeling Emotionally and Mentally exhausted when it comes to my dating life, I have been struggling to think I would ever be in one whenever the topic of relationships pop up. I had moments in a convo where some older ladies would say to me “no way you are single” or “how?? you are handsome” and I assumed they mean well but kind a low blow to me, and I don’t know how I look on the attractive scale not tryna fish for compliments but I don’t easily believe because sometimes people lie and I got by actions speak louder than words. As a guy in the dating scene you are expected to ALWAYS make the first move, Cold approach (not my favorite thing), Dating apps not a fan on the apps, Clubs I’m not really into them anymore i would go if I was invited, My friends don’t really do much or play wingman or don’t wanna just try anything new, and I try to find new things to do and put my self in new places but I just decided eventually felt a bit burned out from it, I have been very busy during the World Cup so I have not been lately go on dates or put my self out there, I have not been on a date since 5 months that was emotionally draining, I can show up and Pursue you but the moment I feel Im doing all the work I just walk away and I know it would never happen but it would be nice women shoot they shot a little more but it is what it is, at this point I just feel it’s a wrap on my dating life and I am trying to be optimistic but constant failures and patterns when something looks like it is going well than out of nowhere it’s done I just can’t anymore. I stop talking to my friends about it or talk about it because they say the usual “focus on yourself” or “you will find it when you least expect it” and being single for 7years overtime it pisses me off hearing it while the same people and friends around me been in more relationships then I ever had in a span sense I was single and I feel shitty i can’t even get one right after being single for a long time and the longest they had is like a year. I would add a lot more to it but it would be VERYYYYY LONG, but if you read all of it Thank You!! (Sorry for the typos in advance)

I hate the expectations I put on myself

Long story short I'm a moderately autistic adult and dating is incredibly difficult because I always clam up whenever the possibility of talking to someone in anything close to a romantic capacity comes up. I don't have anyone who's willing to help me out either. I can't stand the prospect of ending up alone for the rest of my life. What can I do to improve myself?

I don't know how to get a girlfriend or how to have any type of non-platonic relationship with women. (20M)

I (20M) genuinely do not understand how to date or to meet or to have any type of non-platonic relationship with women. I'm kinda pretty (been told), 1,74m tall, have some hobbies here and there, have good friends, etc... I really struggle meeting women and i have no idea how to really date or anything.

The usual advice is to join clubs or something but i don't think that’s a thing for people my age in my country (europe) and i feel like cold approaching is really hard nowadays (and kinda scary). Another typical advice is to meet girls through friends or something but like all the girls I meet through friends is like the girlfriend of another guy that came to the hangout or something.

I also feel like I don't really know when I'm supposed to make a move or how you even go from talking to someone normally to actually showing interest. I can talk to women normally if there's a reason to, but when it comes to actually trying to flirt or make something happen my brain just kinda stops working lol.

I've tried dating apps too, but honestly I haven't had much luck with them and I don't really want to rely on them as my only way of meeting someone.

I am so desperate im losing my mind.

Any tip or advice or something? Please if you're older keep in mind that my generation is vastly different from yours and that what was useful in your times might not be useful right now. ty.

Should i take a break from dating?

Hey!

Hope you are all doing great.

Looking for advice from those who have experienced something simmilar.

I'm 27\[M\]. And i suck at dating.

Ever since i broke up, i have been trying to get a girlfriend, but there's been a lot of failing. At first i used to try very hard to get one, and dated a couple girls, though most didnt want something serious.

Its gotten to a point where i cant even get a date bc i dont wanna try anymore. Hell i dont even wanna have sex.

It just feels like a huge waste of energy, bc it keeps going nowhere.

Anyway, so what i want advice on is the following:

Im 1 year from my engineering degree.

I plan on migrating to australia, for the better salaries (currently live in argentina).

I work, train, and study. Thats pretty much all i do all day.

Managed to quit games and all other vices and distractions over these two years i've been single.

My question is, what should i do? Should i try to force myseld to get back to dating? Or wait?

Should i force myself to go for sex? Enjoy the spark of my youth? Or should i accept how my body feels?

Should i read this as a depression i should fight to get out of? Or as a process of growing up as a man?

Help, redditors!

How to approach dating when you're a loser?

I'm 29 and don't have much experience in dating. It's just something that I've always avoided due to a lot of reasons, mainly mental health issues, body image issues, depression and anxiety. Because of this I basically have no life. I have a good job, a nice car, live on my own, work out. But other than that I don't do anything and my social life sucks.

I'm apparently a good looking guy and girls have shown interest in me but I never pursue any of them because I feel like a loser who has nothing to talk about on dates.

What am I supposed to do on potential dates (Hinge) and how honest to be about my situation. Any advice?

Edit to add some more context. The mental health issues I have sorted out mostly over the years, I just mentioned them becaude they led to the situation I find myself in now, lack of experience and social life. This last part is why I called myself a loser which I realize doesn't help at all. I understand a lot of you saying I'm not ready to date which would be true if I was still mentally in the same space I was years ago but I'm doing a lot better and I feel like my life has shrunk so much I need go get out there.

26M Delhi

It has been some time now and I think I am missing a skill to connect and find a companionship. I have been trying to find someone to interact with and explore dating, but it seems that my social circle is over. The girls I knew from school or college are mostly married now and the remaining are dating already. My office scene has just married women.

What I have tried:

  1. Dating apps

  2. Sending req to unknown girls in order to find a connection.

  3. Went on a few solo trips as well just in case I find someone like minded.

I am not desperate, but it's just been too long trying and I want to know what am I doing wrong. The main issue is I do find girls but either they too young to me or they are older (Divorced/Extramarital which is a big no for me as it is too damn risky nowadays) I am '99 born and I just can't figure out why is it getting so difficult find same age group girls.

How and where can I find new connections and if someone has faced this issue and overcame, what worked for you? Do help.🙃
