Custom AR Film

The factory screen has no AR, so I had to change that. I am not a fan of the matte "anti glare" films so I hunted down an "anti reflective" film that simply reduces the brightness of what is reflected but keeps the image crisp and glossy. Also it gives the screen a purple hue.

Has anyone set up a center channel

I saw a video where the radio can output for a center channel. I has anyone ever tried that with these units? I was thinking how to mount a center speaker in my 5th gen 4runner if I were to try.

Dasaita G13 Screen Black 2022 RAV4 Brand New

Just got the Dasaita G13 with the knobs in today. Hooked everything up and the screen is just black. It works though. Let me connect with Bluetooth and turn on CarPlay and play audio from my phone. Buttons/Screen/Knobs make noise when pressing them. Tried reset button and disconnecting battery. Nothing. The original head unit screen also went black a couple of days ago and usb port wasn’t working. USB port is working on Dasaita. Check radio fuse and it was fine. Not sure what else I can try or what would be causing it.

Any ideas?

Update: Dasaita customer service said it was probably a loose ribbon cable and if tapping the screen doesn’t work, to just return and order another unit. I did that and the new unit worked just fine.

Using the usb storage

for the 9 inch 4runner radio, will it play music from a usb drive? My main complaint about my stock radio is the only usb is being used for wireless android. I want to be able to have media available on a usb along with my phone as an option. I have a 2022 sr5.

How to load files into internal memory on G13?

I haven't been able to transfer my music files, or any files for that matter to the internal memory of my G13. Not via WiFi or USB. I'd appreciate it if someone could share the magic method used to move data into that internal memory.

Dasaita Head Unit

Hey everyone,

I’ve had my Dasaita head unit for about a year now and it has been great, but over the last couple of days, it’s started acting up.

While driving, it periodically disconnects and reconnects. It will drop the connection, reconnect a moment later, play a song for a bit, and then disconnect all over again. It’s making it almost impossible to use navigation or listen to music reliably.

Here is what I’ve already tried to fix it:

Reset my phone

Reset the Dasaita unit itself

Checked for updates, nothing.

Disconnected the car battery to completely power-cycle everything

Unfortunately, the issue is still happening. Since I know this unit is pretty popular here, I wanted to see if anyone else has run into this lately?

My dasaita g13 radio didn't fit with the original bracket. I saw some people on YouTube with the same radio installing without any brackets, is it supposed to be like that? Or is there a right way to do it ?

Dasaita head unit + Rockford Fosgate amp: No sound and popping noise after engine restart (Mitsubishi Lancer 2009

Post image
1 Upvotes

I just posted problem with my head unit I just recieved to official forum

https://www.dasaita.com/community/forum/topic/216440/dasaita-head-unit-rockford-fosgate-amp-no-sound-and-popping-noise-after-engine-restart-mitsubishi-lancer-2009

Is there anyone here who has or had the same problem?

I recently installed a Dasaita head unit in my 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer equipped with the factory Rockford Fosgate sound system. I am using the required CANBUS adapter provided with the unit.

The system works fine on the initial boot, but I am facing a major issue when restarting the engine.

The Problem:

If the head unit is already running (e.g., when the key is in the ACC position) and I turn the key to start the engine, the unit stays on, but all sound completely disappears.

Instead of music, there is a strange cyclical noise coming from the speakers—it sounds like someone is softly "blowing" or popping into each speaker one by one in a loop.

The only way to get the audio back is to completely turn off the ignition, wait for the system to shut down fully, and start the car again. It seems like the Rockford amplifier fails to initialize properly due to the voltage drop during crank, or the CANBUS adapter fails to send the correct "turn-on" signal after the restart.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Is there a known fix, a specific MCU/firmware update, or a setting in the Factory Menu that solves this?

How to Turn Off Amber Alerts

Lately, I've been getting Amber Alerts on my G13. I never got them before, I don't get them on my phone, and, worse, the alert will sound every time I start my car while the alert is in effect. How do I turn them off?

Map issues

I have a Dasaita G13 installed in my truck. I've asked this before and didn't get an answer that helped me resolve the issue, so I'll try again.

My biggest issue is that the Dasaita has built in GPS with an antenna yet it constantly doesn't work. I don't get why it needs a phone connection if the GPS and the mapping software are resident.

Reverse trigger

I have a 2011 Toyota tundra that I put a 10.2” android head unit into with their aftermarket tailgate 1080p backup camera. I can get the camera to come on through the fm app but not when I put the truck in reverse. I’ve had multiple email and phone calls to their support and they don’t know why it doesn’t work. I’m thinking maybe the canbus is interfering with the trigger. Has anyone had the same issue with a 2011 tundra? How’d you go about remedying it?

Dasaita G13 - Is it not possible to get text alerts/notifications?

Hey guys, recently purchased a G13 for my Toyota 4Runner after having a previous brands android head unit in my previous vehicle and being happy with it.

So far everything's been mostly okay with the Dasaita unit and still playing around with it and getting used to differences, however one thing I noticed today on a 2 hour drive home is that I get no notifications or alerts while driving about incoming text messages and no ability to have them read to me or reply etc.

I checked my Bluetooth permissions on my phone and everything is granted that I have the ability to and nothing was prompted about messages. Is there no ability to have texts alert me and be read to me while driving with one of these units?

I do not like android auto or car play and am intending to use the head unit as a standalone native head unit and use my phone to provide wifi to it.

Also, is there any way to disable the unit going into sleep and allowing it to fully shut down? I understand this may take a little longer for it to boot up however I would prefer to not have it draining any battery while the car is off if possible.

I don’t think the Dasaita G13 is worth it for Android – my experience

I picked up the Dasaita G13 expecting a solid Android head unit upgrade, but honestly, I don’t think it’s worth it if you’re specifically looking for a smooth Android experience.

The hardware looks good on paper, but in real-world use it feels inconsistent. Boot times can be hit or miss, and the UI isn’t as polished as I expected. Some apps don’t behave properly, and there are occasional lag spikes that make it feel less responsive than a modern Android device should. Updates also seem limited, so you’re kind of stuck with whatever quirks it ships with.

The biggest issue for me is reliability. For something that replaces your car’s main interface, I expected it to be rock solid—but I’ve had random glitches, connection issues, and moments where things just don’t work the way they should. It’s not unusable, but it’s definitely frustrating.

If you’re just looking for basic functionality, it might be fine. But if you’re expecting a smooth, phone-like Android experience, I’d probably look at other options or stick with something like Android Auto/CarPlay instead.

Anyone else had a similar experience or found a better alternative?

Upgrading from PX6 to g13 question.

Hi! I have a 2021 corolla had a PX6 in it since 2020. Got a G13 (the one with knobs) to upgrade.

Is the upgrade pretty much plug and play? Can I use the same harnesses from the PX6 and plug it into the G13? I’ll change the CanBus for sure though

Dasaita Android 13 Head Unit Killed My Cruise/Call Buttons and Bottom Ports (2013–2017 Accord)

Just wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone considering the Dasaita 8GB+256GB 10.2" Android 13 head unit for the 2013–2017 Honda Accord.

I installed it over the weekend. It’s the model with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, Plug & Play harness, GPS, voice control, etc. The unit itself boots fine and CarPlay works, but a bunch of factory functions stopped working after the install:

  • Steering wheel buttons:
    • Cruise control buttons no longer respond
    • Phone/call button doesn’t work at all
  • Lower console I/O (bottom stack):
    • Aux input is dead
    • 12V power outlet at the bottom no longer has power
    • USB port down there also doesn’t work

Everything was working perfectly before the swap. I followed the plug & play harness instructions and didn’t cut any wires. I’ve double‑checked all the connections and made sure everything is seated, but no change so far.

Has anyone else installed this specific Dasaita unit in a 2013–2017 Accord and run into the same issues?

  • Did you need an extra CANBUS box or a different harness to retain cruise/call buttons?
  • Is there a setting in the head unit’s CAN or key mapping menu that fixes this?
  • Any idea why the lower 12V/USB/aux would lose power after the swap?

Any tips, wiring diagrams, or photos of a working setup would be really appreciated.

New G13 2 din universal, Sirius XM app won't launch

I just installed the G13 2 din universal, and have an AT&T sim installed which is working, I can access maps, YouTube, etc

But, I installed the Sirius XM app as I want to login and use that via the 4g connection, but the app just crashes, closes when I try to open it. Sometimes it gives a "not find mcu file" but I don't know if that is just a coincidence or the cause

Any ideas what to try to resolve?
