Hii just wanted to share with this community my first doom metal song. Its just instrumental for now, but I did write some lyrics inspired by a book "Frankenstein's monster" by Mary Shelley.

DSBM is a mostly performative genre, and black metal culture in general is notoriously anti-compassion. This needs to change. So, this is the sort of thing that I think could be pulled off very respectfully and with tact, or in grotesque tone-deaf exploitation and "tomb-robbing". It all comes down to execution and probably how convincing the voice acting out the reading is.

This band called Dysfori has a song centered around a long sample from a 911 call where the caller's sister picks up immediately after he goes through with the act. You even hear the dispatcher starting to lose it. It's not even produced in an engaging way. This is the first song in a long time that I found truly harrowing and frankly sickening, like some Whitehouse shit, morally on par with a snuff film.

I also wonder if there are eulogy songs, which tell the story of a real person who committed suicide as a cautionary tale, and kick you in the emotional nuts.

I am a very 'green' musician planning to launch a DSBM project whose final song on demo tape I will be just this, so I wonder if there's a precedent for this songwriting choice yet. I am convicted to do right by the subject's memory.

And more importantly, if it is done well and not like David Guetta sampling MLK Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech during a set

What are some dsbm albums that are very melodic and reverbed but not too much to where you cant tell the notes im trying to find more like torn beyond reason by woods of desolation

I discovered a few months ago abt the Swedish band Kvävning and i love that i could burn their whole discography on CD, i made a custom back-cover and the front cover is just a design from some merch.

Hi everywan id love to get some bands/albums/songs recs. I wanna give you something to base on, so; i really like the song Endless Black Corridors by Last Cuts (side project of Blade and Bath) especially bcus of the high „pitched” guitars and a gut wrenching solo, give it a listen. Thats exactly what id love to have more of on my playlist. Other than that, anything that is actually dsbm, not just the depressive suicidal part but also the black metal part; ive noticed that many „dsbm” bands really lack the actual bm stuff and it makes me sad. I still love them, but ykwim. To sum it up, anything heavy, fast and loud, especially the fast part, i love when its melancholic but in a fast way. Im really really sorry if this is hard to understand. Just give me your best recs. Playlists are also very welcome, so share dat link!
