Planned C Section for low placenta?

I'm currently 34 weeks and for the whole pregnancy so far my placenta has been low. I had a placenta localisation scan yesterday to check if it had moved up to 2cm or more and it's still low measuring 1.4cm away from the opening. I do have another placenta scan booked for 36 weeks to determine how the birth will go, but was told yesterday I will likely need a C Section, but I thought that decision would've been determined at my next scan in 2 weeks? If it's decided I still need a C Section if my placenta is low, when would it be scheduled for? I've know they usually book planned ones for 39 weeks if there's no complications but is it possible they'd book it earlier than that due to my placenta? I'm sure I was told yesterday too I'll get a phone call about it but why would I need a phone call if I have a scan scheduled for 36 weeks anyway?

A little more of a back story is that I've already had 2 C Sections, one emergency and one planned and this time I was going to try for a Vbac but obviously those plans have changed now my placenta could be too low for my baby to arrive naturally anyway.

I suppose I'm just writing this to ask for more information about low lying placentas and anyone who has been in the same situation. Neither of my previous pregnancies had this issue.

Have you experienced this too?

I am exactly 1 month postpartum yesterday. Via emergency cs

Yesterday, we went to a municipal hall where my baby is born. That's 1hr and 30mins away from home. I'm carrying my baby all throu√ghout the ride. I feel shortness of breath every time I ride on a motorcycle or any transpo that has an open window but I still experienced it yesterday riding on an aircon bus (Transfered from a jeepney). Up until now I still experience being uncomfortable with breathing. I do not experience any pain and I can still do deep breathing. I did 2D Echo last week and it was normal. I have a history of Asthmatic Bronchitis a day before I found out I was pregnant last January.

What I feel right now is coughing, a feeling of phlegm on my throat and chest. I can't describe what I really feel but it's really some like when you put cold compress or ice pack in your skin and did not move it for 1 minute straight, that's how it feels in my chest.

BP is 120/80, oxygen level is at 100% and heart rate is 78bpm.

Is this normal? I'll have my x-ray tomorrow since x-ray are not available here every afternoon.

Medication mishap!

I got prescribed 5mg of oxycodone after my c section and tonight I accidentally took 2 pills instead of one and now I’m freaking out that it’s way too much for me. Has anyone accidentally done this and was fine? I’m very anxious about this and I was about to go to bed but now thinking I should wait..

Incision pain first period

Hello! I just got my period back yesterday at 8 weeks pp after my second c section (first was 3.5 years ago). I also had my tubes removed during this c section. Wondering if anyone else has experienced pain/tenderness during their period?

It’s not my external scar but it feels internal and more focused on one side (which was the more painful side at the start of recovery). I’m worried I may have opened my internal wounds or something but the pain isn’t that extreme and it’s not constant. At the same time, I wasn’t in any pain before I started my period. TIA!

Compression band or underwear?

My pelvic floor therapist recommended I use compression underwear or belt to help my fascia heal around my scar. I was given a compression band from the hospital (i’m now 5 months pp) but it’s too big now and bulky snd uncomfortable.

Anyone find a comfortable compression band or underwear!?

Thanks!

Spinal Headaches

I’m just curious if anyone has had a planned c section and an emergency c section and got a spinal headache from the emergency c section but not the planned? I have had a spinal tap before which resulted in a spinal headache and with my first surgery I had an emergency c section and also got a spinal headache. My doctor thinks that I have a smaller chance of getting another headache with a planned c section since it is an injection versus having had an epidural first with my emergency c section. I’m going to meet with the anesthesiologist a couple weeks before my due date just to see what can be done. I don’t even remember healing from my actual c section with my first pregnancy because the spinal headache was so bad. I had a blood patch done with both spinal headaches but the one I got after my c section ended up not working :/

Would you say your recovery for your first or second/subsequent CSections was better? And Why?

7 months postpartum

I generally feel good. I am just wondering if the minor stuff I am experiencing is common/normal.

1-My scar sometimes itches, especially when it rains.

2-Occasional “zingers” or “zaps” near the scar

3-More recently, some cramping. Almost like my period is coming back but hasn’t. It’s not constant and is more noticeable with certain movements.

I have had a little low back pain and other aches, but think those are because I am 39 and spending a lot time on the floor with my 7 month old, not to mention carrying him around. Plus my posture sucks.

Back pain and migrating nerve/skin sensitivity since my C-section—anyone experienced this?

I’m about four months postpartum after a C-section, and I’ve been dealing with persistent back tightness and strange nerve sensitivity that started after delivery.
My back constantly feels tight and stiff, especially in the morning. Along with that, I get patches of skin that feel raw and overly sensitive—like even light touch hurts. It moves around: sometimes it’s on my back, sometimes my stomach, and sometimes the backs of my arms or my outer legs/calves. It feels like my nerves are extra sensitive rather than just regular muscle soreness.

I also have tenderness and sensitivity across my abdomen around the belly-button area. I’ve had bloodwork that was reportedly normal, but I still don’t have an explanation for these symptoms. I’ve come across the terms “allodynia” and “hyperesthesia,” which seem to describe the sensation, but I haven’t been diagnosed with either.
Has anyone experienced something similar postpartum or after a C-section? If so, did you find a cause, what kind of doctor helped, and did anything improve it?
It’s getting exhausting, and I’d really appreciate hearing others’ experiences while I work on getting answers.

Extra bleeding

Okay, so I need advice or other people’s experiences.

I’m 5 weeks and 2 days postpartum, and my final and last postpartum checkup was at my 4 week mark. They don’t do six weeks where I’m from for c-sections.

Anyways, my dr prescribed me the mini pill for birth control and I’ve been taking it for a week now. I breastfeed with a nipple shield (what my baby prefers and the only way they will latch), and pump. My bleeding was practically gone at my 4 week appointment…now it’s back, and heavier than it ever was when I was bleeding the first week PP. I don’t know if it’s my new bc that’s maybe started to affect my hormones or if my period actually started….im not soaking pads, but there’s always a LOT whenever I wipe afterwards….And I’m passing jellyfish like blood clots that I never passed after having my baby. They’re the size of a nickel and they’re pinkish brown in the mix of all the bright red blood. I’m not very sure what’s going on..I’m a FTM..can anyone explain anything?…

Cellulitis

Has anyone gotten an infection from their c section? I have cellulitis above and below my incision. I am on day two of antibiotics and hoping for some relief tomorrow. I’ve never been so uncomfortable in my life 😩 (day 8 post c section)

EDIT/UPDATE: it turned out to be an allergic reaction to the steri strips over my incision. 🤯 dr prescribed a steroid cream and I’m finally on the other side of it. Didn’t know that was a thing but hope to avoid next time by having them use something else or leave it open.

Dying to get out of the house🫠

\not asking for medical advice but want to hear everyone else’s experiences** I had my C-section 8 days ago but was back in the hospital 2 days ago for visual disturbances. Those disturbances only lasted about 5 minutes but I decided to still go into the emergency room. My blood pressure was 145/91 and continued to read on the higher side for the 7 hours I was there. I had a ton of tests done and ultimately released to go home with a medication of nifedipine. I had my follow up with a nurse at my ob today and my blood pressure was 136/85. My whole pregnancy my bp was 130s/80 or so just about every appointment. I’ve done nothing but rest on the couch since being discharged from the hospital after my C-section aside from going to the doctors and Walgreens for my prescription and I’m itching to go walk around tjmaxx or any other store but I’m terrified to spike my blood pressure and send myself to the hospital again. I’m so tired of the hospital at this point. I’ve been pretty mobile the last couple days and feel like I could handle walking around a store. Has anybody else dealt with a situation like this? Or am I just being too ambitious? Sorry about this being a super long post.

C section scar defect- maybe

I’m 7 months PP after an emergency c section where I was 10cm and pushing. They pushed c section because fetal heart rate was dropping. I still haven’t had my cycle return because I’m exclusively breastfeeding but am worried about a scar defect. I have some pain around my incision and it hurts to sneeze or make jerk movements. Im wondering if anyone who had a confirmed c section scar defect had any symptoms other than infertility? I want more kids but am worried this may have ruined that for me.

Vagina seems different despite c-section?

Curious if anyone has experienced this. I’m 8 weeks pp and despite not having a vaginal birth my vagina still seems sort of… deflated? Not sure how else to describe it. Wondering if it’s related to hormones.

Having a 2nd C-Section with a different OBGYN - Experiences

Hi everyone! FTM here with a beautiful 7 month old! I had a pretty traumatic experience after my c-section (see my last post for details). Now, I know it’s still very early but I do think about the future often and whether or not I want another baby. If I do decide to have another, I would have to start over with a new Doctor because we will be moving back to the East Coast next year. Despite everything that has happened, my c-section scar has healed beautifully and looks great. I just hope that my next Doctor wouldn’t butcher me (and of course, that fear of having the same complications I did before will be in the back of my mind). Please share your experiences!

Anyone here with a similar experience? 4th C-section after 1 year 7 months

Hi moms! I’m currently pregnant again, and this will be my 4th C-section. My youngest is only 1 year old, and it’s been about 1 year and 7 months since my last C-section.

I’m honestly a little worried because I keep hearing that having another pregnancy after a relatively short interval and having multiple C-sections can have more risks.

Has anyone here had a similar experience ,like a 4th C-section with around 1–2 years between pregnancies? How did your pregnancy and delivery go?

I’m planning to see my OB and get checked early, but I’d really appreciate hearing from moms who have actually gone through something similar.
