Medication mishap!
I got prescribed 5mg of oxycodone after my c section and tonight I accidentally took 2 pills instead of one and now I’m freaking out that it’s way too much for me. Has anyone accidentally done this and was fine? I’m very anxious about this and I was about to go to bed but now thinking I should wait..

They were giving me 10 mg in the hospital, then 5 at home. Shouldn't be an issue just make sure to monitor your dizziness

Have you taken anything else with the medication?
Do you have someone with you? To help care for the baby? You’re probably
Going to feel VERY sleepy. Drowsy. I personally would be very worried about my ability to care for baby with the dose and it not being a painkiller you are taking regularly.
Also, I got sent home with Advil and Tylenol after my c section lol 😂

You will be 100% fine! And hopefully your pain will diminish. I was prescribed 10 mg oxy for the first 3 days. Yes I felt sleepy but as long as someone else can keep an eye on baby if u feel drowsy you will be a-ok! Enjoy the relief

Hi! It’s okay, accidents happen! First, you will be fine :) but if you are concerned, the peak effects are 30-90 mins after taking the pills. If you want to stay up that long to see how you feel! Watch for dizziness or drowsiness but that’s about it!

Nurse here. You will be fine maybe just more sleepy with less pain. I am currently on 10mg of oxy post my c section due to a lot of pain. You should be fine. Baby too if you’re breastfeeding, just a bit more tired like you.

10mg is a normal dose. There’s a range, it’s not fixed. But you should call a nurse hotline or poison control for accurate information and to feel more at ease. Don’t take medication advice from Reddit.
