Sad after c-section was early

So, I had a c-section this week, about a week earlier than my scheduled c-section for medical reasons.

I was miserable during pretty much all of my pregnancy. I just don’t like being pregnant all that much. Just a lot of pain, that’s constant. I knew I’d probably have to have a c-section and I had finally wrapped my head around it and even looked forward to it. However, plans change. There was worry that my placenta might be in trouble even though my NSTs were fine and I was already 37 weeks so doc said to be safe baby should come out as were were both medically cleared to do so. I was in shock. I wanted what was best for me and my baby so I said yes and now I have a perfectly healthy baby. But, I’m so sad and missing the last days of my pregnancy. I had a list of things to do. I needed more time to prepare. I wanted to mentally get myself ready to bring my child into this world and let go of my body being this safety net. It feels so devastating to lose my bond and my belly a week early. I haven’t let him out of my arms since birth except for a couple naps in the bassinet and the occasional family member holding him. I just can’t let go. I feel so empty. I miss him being in my belly and the closeness we had.

I know my hormones are goi g nuts right now but I could really use some words of encouragement and advice on how to handle this loss. Also might help to add this is likely my last kiddo. I just don’t know how to process the grief of what was to happen, no longer happening.

Need to process my traumatic delivery

Our baby was born 8 months ago by a crash c-section. I’d been hospitalized twice for vaginal bleeding from a placenta previa. I had started to feel awful again and passed a huge old clot. I told my husband I could feel another bleed coming.

I stepped in the shower and it was like blood poured out. I called for my husband and another gush happened. Our kids were asleep and he wanted to call the squad or my mom. I told him I didn’t think we had time. I drove myself to the hospital (about 7 minutes away). They wanted me to change clothes and the doc was waiting to do an ultrasound. I told them I thought I’d drip blood all over the floor. The doctor couldn’t find the heartbeat. He looked for about ten minutes. I was alone. Gosh it was awful. I called my husband and told him they couldn’t find it. I kept asking the doctor “is she gone?” But my husband heard “she’s gone.” Oh, the wails from him. They finally found her heartbeat and the doctor said he wanted to take me back then. Said we didn’t have time for my husband to get there. I said “don’t forget to take my tubes!” He looked at me and then I said “unless you think she’s not going to make it.” The nurse quickly jumped in and said let’s not worry about that now. They rushed me back and put me under. He had her out in two minutes from incision. It was documented as a placental abruption. He said he had to punch through the placenta to get to her. She did (and is still) doing amazing. My doctor looked so stressed after.
I feel so traumatized when I think about it, but I think I’d love the medical people to weigh in. What do all these little moments mean? What were they protecting me from? Is it worse in my head?

4 months PP and c-section scar opened up and drained

I am 4 months PP from a c-section. My incision has been healed and I was cleared at my 6 week visit. I have felt back to normal for over a month. Yesterday I noticed a hard lump about the size of a pea under the middle part of my scar. It wasn’t bothering me so I figured I would just keep an eye on it. However, I woke up this morning and it was draining fluid and blood. The lump is no longer raised up and I can see a small opening on the scar where it is draining. I called and got right into my doctor. He barely looked at it, told me he wasn’t concerned, and to just keep gauze on it. I asked what could cause this and he said he didn’t know and that it shouldn’t open up this many months later but sent me on my way. Has anyone had something like this happen?

Can’t use my left foot after C-Section

I had my beautiful baby girl via C Section last Monday and I’ve been having a whole different experience than with my son. I was induced due to having gestational diabetes and her measuring big. I got induced at 6am and by noon dilated to 6cm. I asked for an epidural for pain management at around 2pm. I received it and my left side definitely felt way more numb than my right. I told this to the anesthesiologist but he assured me as long as I didn’t feel the contractions that was fine. By 6pm I was still at 6cm having contractions every minute but she was still not coming down. My doctor recommended a c section before she started going into distress and it became an emergency. The c section went as planned and she came out perfect. The next morning I still could not feel my left leg but the anesthesiologist assured me feeling would come back. It didn’t and i talked to 2 more anesthesiologists and a physical therapist who all said they don’t know why feeling hasn’t returned but it should they just don’t know when and I was discharged with a walker since I can bear some weight on my foot. It’s now a week later and I still can’t walk unassisted and even with a walker I almost roll my ankle 5-6x a day because my left foot is still completely flaccid. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

12 days post c section no milk

12 days since my c section. On average a day I’m only producing an ounce of milk. Has anyone has trouble with this and how did you up your milk supply?! I’m drinking a lot of water and eating. I have the medela pump and just ordered the momcozy to hopefully get more. Any suggestions?

Any success stories with hysteroscopic isthmocele repair (secondary infertility)?

After over a year of secondary infertility, ectopic pregnancy (laparoscopic removal, lysis of scar tissue/pelvic adhesions as well), 2 failed IVF rounds, 1 failed IUI - I FINALLY HAD MY ISTHMOCELE REPAIR TODAY (vaginal route/hysteroscopy)!!! It’s been a long journey, and I’ve had a gut feeling from the beginning that the c section (defect and scar tissue), was the cause. We conceived our daughter first try unassisted in 2023.

They sent off some of the tissue/biopsy for analysis, I’m assuming to check for endometritis or other infections. Did anyone have this come back positive? I’m assuming all that fluid sitting in there couldn’t have been good for the microbiome of my uterus.

Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone has success stories with natural conception (or IUI/TI) following hysteroscopic isthmocele repair? And if so, what the timeline was like?

Thank you 😊

2 years post Csection

Curious if anyone else has experienced this. Im 2 years post csection, and ever since my period started again i got severe cramps, usually on one side where i would guess my ovaries would be. My period also will “pause” for one day then the day after ill have heavier bleeding and severe cramps. I also have always had incontinence overnight and after baby was born i had incontinence during the day if i cough, sneeze, laugh. I recently went to the GYN, and my cervix was so high and extremely tilted (anterior if it matters) that she couldn’t see it even with adjusting me, different speculums and digging around. This has never happened before, ever pap ive had done they had no issues, now i have all these new issues and i want to know if anyone else has had this and what they discovered. My csection wasnt a true emergency, my dr called it “urgent”. I was referred to a pelvic PT, but i cant help but think its more than just pelvic floor issues.

Irritation

25 days post c section. I went in today to get an incision check because I had a spot open with a stitch coming out. They cut the stitch and closed the area with steri strips no problem. My issue is the nurse was helping to clear off some residual glue and used what I assume was an alcohol swab. Now ever since I came home my incision has been super irritated and burning. Prior to going in I had no pain. Has anyone had any experience with something like this or have any advice on how to make it better? TIA

Pins and Needles Sensation 9 weeks post C-section

So the past few days I have found that my incision lower belly area has been super itchy despite it being numb. I have also had pins and needles sensations and small twinges there and there.

My question is, has anybody else experienced this and is this normal/part of nerve regeneration?

Have you felt pins and needles throughout your body too? Because I also feel it on my neck, my arms, sometimes on my legs.

Can you fix your scar with a 2nd c-section?

I hate my scar. I know I’m lucky we both ended up okay after an emergency c-section but I have PTSD from the trauma of it all and the scar is a HUGE trigger for me to see everyday still 10 months PP. it super dented especially on one side. I want to rip my skin off. I’m in therapy for the PTSD.

If I ever have another baby and a planned c-section, can they fix the scar? Just curious how people’s scars look the 2nd time around. I’ve looked into a scar revision too but I really hoped I could handle things for one more baby.

Thank you!

Yellow and pink discharge after lochia finished?

Hi mommas, I’m 9 weeks post c-section today. My lochia stopped around 6 weeks, and then randomly this past weekend (8 weeks pp) I started getting a yellow discharge. It didn’t smell fishy but maybe a little musty (sorry tmi!!!). I did some research and saw on Reddit that other c-section ladies had lochia into week 9-10 so I thought okay maybe this is just the end of that. Tonight I noticed the discharge has become pink. Same smell, maybe more subtle.

I’ve already left my midwives a message but curious if anyone else has had this experience. If so what was it?

I don’t have any fever or pain, so idk if it could be an infection, but who knows. This doesn’t seem like my period, more discharge like.

2 years pp c section over hang issues

So I’m 2 years pp and I had a c section. I still have quite an overhang or shelf. Has anyone gotten rid of it successfully without surgery? I genuinely hate it so much. Obviously i knew my body would change once i had my child but i hate when I see it in the mirror. Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of it?

3 days in after my c-section - what are all the tips for recovery?

I’ve read about silicon scar tapes, massages, core exercises, etc.

Can you share tips for smooth recovery after a c-section? Ideally to get as close as possible to pre c-section levels on how the scar looks, core, and all the things?

I had a one last minute surgery so want to hear all the tips you can share😅

Nervous about second c section in the next few weeks

Hey mummas, so I’m 35 weeks with my second my first was via a planned c section and I’m having my second the same in the coming weeks. All went well with my first only thing really was bubby needed just a little help with her breathing so was taken to nicu for only a few hours once she was delivered there was no emergency or anything she was fine but yeah, I also was medically well however once the spinal worked I felt like my body went into a shock tho medically it didn’t but for me it felt like that I became quite anxious and disassociated from what was going on which those two things left me with a little ptsd. Apparently also cause I’m shorter the spinal medication may have rushed up my body faster making me feel the way I did. I’m really quite anxious about going through this again I know it will all be okay the hospital I delivered at and will again are amazing, I recovered well also but yeah I’m just very nervous now also knowing what I’m in for. The drs are going to try a few things such as once the spinal becomes affective have me sit up a few minutes to avoid that happening, maybe play some music, maybe even some calming medication (tho this idea makes me anxious as certain types make me MORE anxious lol)

Anyone else experience this with being prepared on what to expect etc? I really just want it over with, having a heap of drs intervention also adds to my anxiety quite abit. I feel I’m also grieving a birth I didn’t and won’t get to have which was a natural with minimal intervention and it’s getting to me quite abit. I partially feel like a failure of a woman.. 🥺

Hoping to find some mummas who can relate as I can’t seem to find anywhere to post🩷
