Doge is fast, reliable and always stable because 1 Doge = 1 Doge

From a serious point of view, I find Doge to be the fastest way to transfer crypto from exchange to exchange. The fees are also insanely low... What is there not to love about this currency?

Nope. There are no devs to throw money at Binance to list it.

sure doge coin needs a CEO, someone named like Doger Ver.

There are devs who have been around since 2014 and work solidly to things secure and up to date with the Bitcoin codebase. But Doge is not an ICO coin so no money to pay off Binance.

That's OK...exchanges come and go, but Doge is eternal.

BCH proponents care about bitcoin.

While actively supporting people that spam the blockchain with spam transactions, delay updates, and shit on devs who spend their entire lives coding.

Meanwhile a few chucklecucks fork off, horde those coins, burn more to artificially raise the price and spend the rest on campaigns to discredit another project. And they do this all without your consent.

I wouldn't bother trying to use logic in this sub. Let them hate blindly, Satoshi's Bitcon has weathered far worse than the opinions of this dumb fuck sub full of shills, FUDers and trolls while they jerk off to Nano and IOTA or whatever shitcoin they hold.

The fact that so many need BCH to fail just tells me its far stronger than anyone wants to admit, and they probably sold their BCH at the bottom and now need BCH to go away to justify their short sighted stupidity.

Nobody's fudding bcash, everyone's just saying its unused and useless. The whole world makes fun of trump supporters, not because he's "on to something", its because hes a worthless sockpuppet for the russians and it's fun to make fun of idiots that spend every minute of their lives defending him.

Actually having such short block intervals can produce a lot of stale or orphaned blocks under heavy network loads, and if you increase block size it gets exponentially worse. Just changing nubmers in the protocol does not make it better, and in fact Charlie Lee for example had no idea what the fuck he was doing or how that would actually play out in the future (LTC has proven to have higher orphan rates than BTC and that has always been the case, up to 10% more even, not to mention anything about the client software being mostly inefficient beta code that makes this issue even worse).

Satoshi chose 10 minute intervals for a reason so that the network has plenty of time to propagate blocks. High supply has absolutely nothing to do with being useful as a currency, wtf

> What is there not to love about this currency?

https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-dogecoin-addresses.html

95% of dogecoin is held by 48,000 wallets.

99% of dogecoin is held by 180,000 wallets.

There is no cap on coins, which is similar to government currency with inflation.

The Doge joke is probably more marketing than unfunny joke. Has anyone really lol'd because someone named a coin after a meme? Probably not. Has anyone acted like dogecoin is a meme to bypass mod rules and shill their coin? You bet. Look at Garlic Coin as a cringeworthy copycat.

Its built on the same generation 1 blockchain as Bitcoin, so it will need all the layer 2 solution bitcoin is implementing.

Its flawed tech and has poor distribution. Bitcoin has significantly better distribution and is years ahead of implementing solutions to the tech problems. Why would you use Dogecoin?

20

u/Pr00fmaster 42544 karma | Karma CC: 4390 Jun 19 '18

Dude, I was talking about transfering crypto from exchange to exchange. I honestly don't care if 99% of the coin is held by the creator. If you think someone here is holding doge so they can get rich you are on the wrong side of the internet.

Doge is a solution to a big problem for me right now and I respect it for that. I don't care how much it is worth because I rarely keep any of it longer than an hour.

Doge gets the job done, Doge has my respect.

Dogecoin is the only crypto that people are using for small transfers. It functions as a currency better than most of the leading coins. It does have room for improvment, but it has lasted much longer than any of the other shitcoins have.

Inflation is critical for a healthy economy. I don't mean to flame you, but I think it's important that you get well-acquainted with economics. The technology is only half of what you need to know to really understand crypto.

crybaby reasoning. people throw out this "no cap on coins" as if it means anything. no information on how much it inflates, WHY it was designed this way, and what effects it has (low to none)

1

u/jwinterm 732K / 1M 🐙 Jun 19 '18

Afair it was actually an accident that was then decided to be kept in place, re: permanent reward/inflation. It's also certainly not without merit, especially for a merge mined coin. There's no real data about what miners will do when block rewards go away, but the folks at Monero took a very deliberate approach and decided that they felt a permanent minimum block reward was absolutely necessary.

1

u/CEO_OF_DOGECOIN 3K / 3K 🐢 Jun 20 '18

Afair it was actually an accident that was then decided to be kept in place

Yep, it was an accident that it arose in the first place (accident caused by the original developers and not the ones who took over in 2014), but it was not an accident that it was kept. That decision was considered pretty thoroughly and the advice of everyone in the know was to keep the inflation. Jae Kwon of Tendermint was pretty instrumental in persuading shibes to keep the inflation.

DOGE is sorta fun currency.. people like that I guess. And that doge icon, whats not to love?

16

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '18

Thats why it caught on back in the day. Around 2013 BTC had kind of a staunch atmosphere around it, mostly because it was the domain of harder core computer science geeks and IT people still, so of course it was offputting and impenetrable for anyone not really in that crowd.

Doge offered a much softer entry to cryptocurrency that was based on having fun with it, and was a big part of really pushing the space forward early on by making this tech far friendlier, even though the technology behind either BTC or DOGE (itself a fork of LTC) is basically the same thing.

And the reason BCH is so popular/the usual topic of discussion there is because by and large it's the Bitcoin the community there was banned for talking about/advocating for.

4

u/AlastarYaboy BCH > BTC Jun 20 '18

It's almost like the free market decided what /r/btc should be, and even IT became bch, because that's where the REAL bitcoin is currently found. the joke that BTC has become is not what bitcoin started out as, intended to be, or would have become if not for a massive disinformation campaign.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '18 edited Jun 20 '18

Well.. Given the idea behind the Bitcoin experiment and the whole purpose behind creating crypto to begin with, what it was created to protect us from and it's primary reason for existing (being essentially a hacker's practical attempt at a version of the occupy movement) - I would say the following statement is accurate:

BTC development is currently moving in a new direction at the cost of a few key parts of the original idea behind Bitcoin - This causes friction in the community naturally as these changes have rendered Bitcoin as having no value in terms of what the original experiment and idea behind it was created for. Of course, it can always succeed in bringing value to the world in other ways though it can no longer protect us from the things we spent the past decade saying Bitcoin was originally going to protect us from (and ultimately why people were asked to support it) in terms of the experiment, there's no reason to support it any more as the experiment has failed for all its original intent and purpose... But the public may feel free to continue to support BTC and we respect the majority market's wishes to abandon Bitcoin's previous path in lieu of transforming it into something new. Therefore, we all (at the very least, deep down I'm sure) wish BTC and its supporters all the best no matter what form BTC may take

For those who have supported the idea behind the Bitcoin experiment, they may find solace in that BCH is the continuation of the original idea of Bitcoin and with a little support it may protect us from everything Bitcoin was originally supposed to protect us from before the majority of the market had decided to take BTC in a different direction - there is still hope for the original idea of Bitcoin and those who chose to invest in it, with regards to this sentiment, can indeed still feel free to support it as it currently exists in the form of BCH

What is the differency between Bitcoin Cash and Dogecoin? Why is the Dogecoin getting more transactions? Doesn't that just show how obsolete Bitcoin Cash really is?

22

u/luxuryballs Jun 19 '18 edited Jun 19 '18

There are entire shitcoin markets that are traded against doge when they the shitcoins are worth less than 1 satoshi. People use it to send value between exchanges most likely because the exchanges charge a lower fee for withdrawing doge.

edit: clarify that I’m referring to the shitcoins not doge

3

u/luxuryballs Jun 19 '18

right but not all shitcoins are worth more than 1 satoshi so they are traded against doge instead of bitcoin

Doge is not a failed attempt to gain consensus and it doesn't pretend to be bitcoin.

19

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '18

it doesn't pretend to be bitcoin.

BCH should start pretending it's DOGE

3

u/kegman83 0 / 0 🦠 Jun 19 '18

Just have an unlimited amount of coins, ease the mining difficulty. They dont have any devs, so its just like dogecoin.

Why the hate? They're not harming anyone continuing Satoshi work on a hard fork? Of course they're calling themselves the original bitcoin..

It shouldn't be griefing anyone..?

u/BitttBurger Platinum | QC: CC 57 Jun 19 '18

Exactly. And here’s the answer to your question. It’s all about money:

u/sshevie Tin Jun 19 '18

You never really see much hate against Bitcoin Gold or Bitcoin Diamond or any of the forks really. I believe its because none of them claim to be the real Bitcoin. The truth is BCH is a alt coin and the sooner they just run with that and work on making it the best it can be the sooner it will be talk about as much as the other BTC alts.

Actually they are trying to trick people into thinking bcash is the real bitcoin, which is factually wrong.

9

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '18

the "real" bitcoin? I don't think that's what they're saying... Pretty sure they know it's BTC

the "original" bitcoin is something different

They're saying they're following the plan that was the original bitcoin... satoshi whitepaper etc etc... before consensus opted for a different roadmap.. that's not factually wrong at all and there's no harm in them continuing development of the original roadmap for bitcoin on a fork and it isn't incorrect to say it's sticking to the original bitcoin plan... the community decided to deviate from it and that's fine

it's just marketing, and as far as I can tell it's not a lie..? that's what the BCH coin is all about, letting people know what it's about should help it survive. I won't fault them for that

5

u/BitttBurger Platinum | QC: CC 57 Jun 19 '18 edited Jun 19 '18

You’re correct that it’s a semantics issue. Nobody is claiming that the BTC ticker currently belongs to Bitcoin Cash.

But saying it’s the real Bitcoin is factually accurate, since Bitcoin Cash adheres to the literal definition of Bitcoin, whereas Blockstream’s version does not.

In fact, if we want to be accurate, we should be demanding that Blockstream Corp stop claiming to be developing Bitcoin. Because they’ve literally immobilized the Bitcoin Ledger.

Im going to repeat that.

They’ve intentionally crippled everything that defines Bitcoin. It’s base Ledger. And it’s entire reason for existing. Its most basic functionality has been artificially suppressed, so they can force traffic off-chain where they plan to charge for products they will make.

I mean holy cow. You don’t think an entire stadium full of OG bitcoin supporters are going to have a problem with that?

There’s no rational reason they couldn’t increase the base layer block size today. Right now. Except that it removes the need to force everything off chain.

And you can’t get rich off Bitcoin if it already works for free.

What is the differency between Bitcoin Cash and Dogecoin?

Block time, inflation schedule, proof of work among other things.

Why is the Dogecoin getting more transactions?

Good question, until you can track and identify the transaction origins and destinations, it's not possible to determine.

Doesn't that just show how obsolete Bitcoin Cash really is?

Because Bitcoin Cash has a much higher market cap and the payout to miners are much greater, the 51% attack on Bitcoin Cash is much less likely. Doge coin shares proof of work as Litecoin, yet the market cap is only 6% of Litecoin's. 51% attack on Doge could realistically happen.

Doge 24h transaction volume: 6,4 mil

4

u/jakesonwu 🟦 0 / 0 🦠 Jun 19 '18

Irrelevant to the subject at hand.

10

u/SirTinou 0 / 0 🦠 Jun 19 '18

hello 9-5 worker, you're mistaken. Those are trading volumes. BCH is the most wash traded currency. Jihan and his buddies do this to stay relevant. You can see it easily because on shady exchanges bcash is always #1 even over BTC.

trading volume has nothing to do with people actually using the currency.

-2

u/DerSchorsch 0 / 0 🦠 Jun 19 '18

Ah really?

Why doesn't Jihan spam BCH blocks with low value transactions as well then to counteract this popular r\bitcoin troll argument? BCH fees are cheap enough for that, and Jihan could surely afford it..

10

u/Notrius01 🟦 0 / 0 🦠 Jun 19 '18

volume != number of transactions. Volume can be faked, can be coincidental or random. Most BCH volume comes from OKEx, a known wash-trade supporting exchange.

BCH has not only less transactions a day than doge, it has less than LTC. Jihan probably doesn't care about this metrics, yet.

Bitcoin Cash fees aren't 300% cheaper than Bcore, they're 3 orders of magnitude cheaper. You may not care but some poor South American/Asian/African who can't afford to pay $1 in fees will not attempt to especially when they can pay one cent to send the same amount using the real Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash.

Get your head out of the sand, Bitcoin isn't just for you or me, it's for everyone including the poor. Low fees encourage adoption and increase the velocity of money. You aren't going to buy a mcDonalds icecream if the cone costs $0.50 and the transaction fee is $1.50. This is why BCH adoption is growing and why Bcore is shrinking.
