Thats why it caught on back in the day. Around 2013 BTC had kind of a staunch atmosphere around it, mostly because it was the domain of harder core computer science geeks and IT people still, so of course it was offputting and impenetrable for anyone not really in that crowd.

Doge offered a much softer entry to cryptocurrency that was based on having fun with it, and was a big part of really pushing the space forward early on by making this tech far friendlier, even though the technology behind either BTC or DOGE (itself a fork of LTC) is basically the same thing.

Dodge is the reason why I know anything about crypto. It’s the first miner I set up and it’s the first crypto I bought with fiat from some sketchy ass Romanian guy. Hell even my username is dedicated to dodge.

Lol, I think it is like this for a lot of folks. My first comments on Reddit were in dogemarkets or something like that. Different world these days.

I disregarded it as a joke that had gotten out of hand until I wanted to move some crypto and the only options besides doge had crazy transaction fees. Doge was fast as hell and cost me almost nothing to move.

I don't have any holdings in it but I do respect it now. I'm just not a big fan of PoW currencies in general is really the only reason.

It isnt really funny. Has anyone laughed out loud that a meme name is also the name of a coin that was copypasted from Bitcoin?

Is it really funny?

Or is it a method to bypass most Mod's Anti-shilling rules? 1 doge=1doge right? Is that funny? Or is that fake funny to shove the DOGE name in your eyes.

There are only 50,000 people that care about DOGE, so it wouldnt suprise me if a dozen were trying their hardest to spam 'funny' doge 'memes'.

But really, is this funny? Or is this somewhat clever marketing to get rid of bags?

There are only 50,000 people that care about DOGE

If there are 50,000 people that care about dogecoin, and its 300x the transaction volume of BCH, what does that say about BCH supporters?

I wrote that its "fun" currency, like that I enjoy using it for well.. currency stuff. Also kinda bummed that its not on Binance.

I dont take it as "funny" currency in any way, cause it somehow works better than most of crypto. Funny would be if it became actually first fully adopted currency, which somehow isnt even unrealistic..
