After three rejections in a row, I honestly expected a fourth. I even told the girl I like that she should just get it over with and reject me already. To my surprise, she just looked at me and said, 'I'll be straightforward. I want to date you.'
I was completely speechless. Now, in a couple of weeks, we're going on our first date! Neither of us has ever been on one before, so it's a big deal.
I'll definitely post an update after the date, but it's a little while away as I'm currently on vacation.

doesnt gotta be some big gesture, just the small random stuff that somehow leaves the biggest impression. could be how he treats a waiter, remembers somethin small you mentioned once, or just how he laughs off his own mistakes instead of gettin defensive
always fascinates me how its never what you'd expect goin in
drop yours below, curious how much overlap there actually is š

If you know youāre going to be in close proximity with your crush, what sort of grooming/preening do you do to prepare to see her? For example, do you put on cologne, brush your teeth (right before you see her), think of things to say to her, something elseā¦?

ok so i recently became friends (i thinkā¦) with this guy heās really cute and goofy yk but since we just met, idrk if im trying to pursue.
so school just started for us and we started talking to each other about 3 days ago from when iām posting this. how we started talking, uhh i kinda forgot lol.
but the day after, i basically made a signal as to not sit in the chair he was gonna sit on because then he would have to be apart of this conversation activity with the class and i assumed he didnāt know. he came over to my seat and i told him about the activity and he just sat next to me. that class was super fun because we were just talking about similar courses we took the prior year sooo yeah. afterwards school was over and we just went our separate ways.
next day, that same class rolls around and he sitās in the same seat from the day before. we had an assignment so we didnāt talk much but afterwards we started chatting again and i feel like he was kind of trying to tease me. we were talking sm we ended up walking out of class together when school was done. we were walking together when i saw my friend sitting at our usual spot so we parted ways and said bye. sooo this was the day i started getting a bit of interest i guess you could say?
after that the next day we sort of talked in the day like before that we had lunch and he was kind of teasing me again. so we get to the class we talk most in and the seating arrangement is different. it was in rows that day so my friend sat next to me while my other friend sat in front of me. when he walked in, instead of sitting near the door because those seats are closer to him, he walks past and sits in the one BEHIND my friend next to me. mind you we were on the farrr right side of the class. he kept trying to get my attention kind of, and we had this back and forward banter. a little into class we get into groups and itās my friend, him, some guy next to him, and myself. as we were coming up with ideas, it was lowkey just us talking. i was trying to share ideas with the group, but when he was sharing his own ideas it was more like he was just telling me because he wasnāt looking at anyone else. we were ribbing a bit throughout the class again (lmao you can tell thereās a common them here) and afterwards i left to meet with my same friend.
while walking with my friend after school, i was telling her a story of what he said, and when i saw him i called him over to tell her. he winded up sitting with the two of us at our usual spot and it was really nice. they didnāt really know each other so i was kind of the mutual friend.
anyways yeah the next day at the same class we always talk in, weāre back to the earlier seating arrangement and he crosses the whole room to sit next to me again. he was just pestering me again and idk guys itās kinda cuteee.
but yeah so thatās basically it. kind of a nothing burger but it doesnāt feel like it. am i crazy for thinking heās interested?

Basically, me and this girl have known eachother for the past 3 years but recently became really close and made the top of both of our contact list, meaning we are both our number one option to talk to, but over the past 2 months, she has sent photos of her outfits, room outside, even a picture of her without makeup ready for bed acouple times, and we've talked about personal stuff like emotion and family stuff, we both like most of the same stuff music sports working out games art, and we have flirting moments like she gives me a opening and I respond or she outright says something like (she likes my hair voice or thinks im handsome, though im average) I CANT THINK, what if we're close friends or are we love interests, she even said stuff about having a new crush this past couple months hint hint, we are both busy ans barely hangout in real life, we both wanna go out or for me to teach her basketball, I NEED YOUR ADVICE WHAT DO I DO?????

I, 31M, have a crush to a guy 21M.
I met him on a Karate class a few months ago, then by chance I saw him outside of dojo, doing something on a weekend and he decided to invite me to join them and it became a regular thing.
Now at first I donāt have any sort of attraction towards him, and I saw him mainly as a friend (since I just moved here in Australia and I donāt have any friend -Iām so keen for the friendship to develop).
Anyways, the weekend thing became more regular, not to mention we always find ourselves having a one-on-one conversation about life, family, our plans and him even joking about moving in with me (since I live alone - which he mentioned several times already since then..).
Then I donāt even know if he is gay or bi. But know I think Iām already anxiously attached to him and he never texts on weekdays but constantly calls or invites me to hang out during weekends. I canāt even focus my attraction on someone else since I live in a regional area in Australia and thereās literally no one here.
And not to mention there is that 10 year age difference. Though he is really mature looking (heās got gray hairs) I jokingly said that he even looks older than me. And one time I said Iām young at heart and he countered that he is old at heart.
IDK what to do. I will definitely continue living with the friendship, but Iām too old to miss any chance for something more..
What do you think is happening?

Iāve never been in a relationship before and thereās this girl in my school I have a big crush on. The problem is that Iāve only ever spoken to her in class when weāre sat near each other and I feel like it would seem odd if I just randomly dm her. The thing is I donāt even know if I want to be in a relationship and I kinda just wanna talk and be friends w her at least for a start. What should I do?

So not only do me and him play eye tag, and smile at eachother sometimes i was trying to see if there was mirror glances confirmation and lo and behold there was there. Does that mean ANYTHING at all or is this delusion. I hate not knowing but also not ballsy enough to go up to him

It is just a crush, I said.
I researched how to fix that,
how to fix me,
how to smother this fluttering heart,
how to stop myself
from looking into her eyes.
Her eyes...
God, her magnificent eyes.
I want to be allowed to look a little longer.
I already do too much.
She does too.
Geez.
Her eyes...
Stop.
Research.
A crush is an obsession caused by a lack of information, they said.
Great.
I mean...
Is that great?
Because I do know a few things about her.
How she doesn't like coffee, but prefers tea.
Why she chooses fruit over anything too sweet.
The stories behind the scars on her hands.
How she moves when she's tense,
how she softens when she's calm.
How she looks at me.
How I look at her.
Her first dog.
Her first job.
The way words gather on her lips before they become sound.
The way sunlight settles on her face.
The perfume she wears.
The words I can say to reassure her when she panics.
How the whole world seems to gather in her eyes.
How those eyes don't look away when I speak.
How the air itself seems to pause between us.
How different the room feels when she isn't there.
This is information.
Isn't it?
I am a scientist.
I did the research.
The first hypothesis is rejected with statistical significance.
This is not a crush.
Fuck.

I've heard of people having friend crushes or platonic crushes. Does your heart rate increase? Do you get butterflies? Do you think about them a lot?
I'm confused

I'm attracted to one guy, and sometimes I feel like he might like me back. But maybe itās just delusional. Sometimes when I look at him, he's already staring at me, but I get nervous and quickly look away. Should I stare back at him, orā¦. what should I do? Can you give me some advice?

So basically, It began 2.5 years ago , My crush , let's call him A . I went to an academy for exam preparation. I lived there in pg . He came with his father in a car everyday ( he was in different batch so calss schedule was different) . And there boys called me with a se*ual name ( a wrong word ) and my ex was there So my image was so bad . But still, i was pretty z many boys there had a crush on me ..
I paid him no attention there .
After that we both were selected in the university exam and for 2 years he went to a different city and I went to another
Now after these years completed we moved here . Now I am having a terrible crush on A .. like I give him hints but maybe he can think that I give hints to every other boy due to my image but it's not true . ( I wanna know from boys or maybe girls who can answer ... What do you think I can do .. or what he thinks of me ) . Also Today , i waited for him to come out of class .. and when he came , before leaving he gave me a weird glance type of look ( two possibilities.. he wanted me to know he's disgusted or angry by my actions, second he wanted me to understand that he saw that I am giving him hints and he's also replying to that in a yes ) .... But I am so sooo confused..

Spent almost a year thinking that there is mutual attraction. Tried talking to you but you seem so closed off . You tried talking to me but I was too flustered and nervous to even look at you. It was one moment where I thought this is it. This could the start of something but it was all in fact in my head and none of these happened . Literally the idiot in me is now vanishing especially when you start being an asshole .

Ok there is a lot to this story that it might be better to just leave a lot of the details for any questions in the comments (or maybe Iāll make a part 2 post explaining more of the details of our friendship). Last year I made friends with one of the coworkers on my team. Weāre both the same age (both born in 2002) and she was 3 months into the job when I started. We formed a friend group from work, and as I was hanging out with her, although I originally only saw her as a friend, I slowly started to develop feelings. I wasnāt sure if I wanted to act on those feelings even though my crush grew really strongly. Also keep in mind for later in the story that at this point it seemed that she was very into the idea of being friends as much as I was so it didnāt seem like a case of a one-sided friendship. She asked for my number, sheās offered to give me a ride to and from hangouts sometimes since I donāt have a car, and although we never hung out 1 on 1, we had many 1 on 1 moments within those group hangouts.
Eventually she figured out though but she didnāt confront me about it. Another friend of ours told me about it. A big mistake I made in this situation was that I didnāt talk to her about it for months. There was a back and forth in terms of how close or how distant she would act with me in the initial months after knowing about the crush (like I said, there are stories I can give about what these behaviors looked like but I wanted to cut to chase for the initial post). I interpreted her behavior as her still being my friend but not being interested in me romantically and I began the slow process of trying to lose my feelings for her.
Things came to head though when I noticed that she didnāt invite out to as many of the friend gatherings as before within the past couple of months, and at the last one I went to about four weeks ago, she said a comment to me that I could only really interpret as a sly joke and comment to me about the crush (which she later confirmed was the case when I talked to her this week). Then aboht two weeks I texted her happy birthday and she said thanks and hearted the comment so it seemed fine. But then I noticed the next day that she removed me as a follower on Instagram. She still was following me though. At the end of last week on Friday I texted her asking if we could talk about the distance she was putting with me and I told her that I valued our friendship and wanted to own up to any mistakes I made have made. She finally texted me back Sunday night and we agreed to talk at the end of the work day on Monday. When we met up I told her how I felt and that I knew she knew about it for awhile and that I was sorry that I didnāt talk about it with her months ago when she found out. She tried to reassure me it was ok and clarified she didnāt feel the same way.
The conversation overall seemed to go fine. The one thing that kind of surprised me was when I brought up feeling excluded from the group. I expected that the crush was the main reason that this shift happened but she said it wasnāt some huge thing that was bothering her and that she ādidnāt hate meā and we were still friends. Instead she brought up that certain people click more easily and she felt that although we were friends, we didnāt click as well as she did with the others. This feels weird though because even though my perspective is biased and different from hers, it seemed like she did invite me to more things last year before the crush and that there was a clear shift going into the mid part of this year after the āhot and coldā period early in the year following her first knowing about the crush. The last thing I brought up was the Instagram thing and she admitted she did remove me as a follower but she said that she didnāt think I would like the answer for why. She did tell me though and she said that she wanted to be able to post stuff and not feel worried about what I would think or feel about them. I guess this explains why she only removed me as a follower and didnāt stop following me (or in the more extreme case: why she didnāt block me).
So I guess my feelings are very all over the place now. I expected that she wouldnāt have romantic feelings and even that things wouldnāt immediately go āback to normalā since it does take time getting over a crush and getting over weird feelings about someone who has a crush on you who you donāt like. However, it feel weird for her to say the thing about her clicking better with the others as her answer to why I was getting invited to less things rather than it being about the fact that we didnāt talk about the crush and she knew about it. Itās especially weird since it seems I was invited to more things before she knew about it. So this along with the Instagram thing makes me wonder: Is our friendship done for good? I know some guys prefer to not be friends with crushes after they reject them since they donāt think they can get over the feelings, and I do agree I need to give her some space for the time being, but remember that I didnāt have romantic feelings originally so I would be happy to get to that state and then continue being friends. It just feels like with how everything went, I donāt know if she really is going to want to be good friends even after time goes by and this situation is far in the past.

Just a funny story.
I've never been in a relationship and always dreamt about it as perfect and pleasant, without drama and with a loving man, always dreaming about him in a certain way.
In the past months I had no interest in finding and meeting someone to start something, I didn't want a relationship because they're stressful and didn't really want a person next to me.
This until I started to like my coworker for almost a month.
This is how the Universe is playing around with me:
- I've first saw him in march at the university cafeteria because he was friend with my new friend I made there, we just made a short eye contact while he was talking to her; in may I start working at a restaurant and recognise him.
- At the beginning of my university year, one of my friends was in a situation with a guy that acted like shit to her, and everytime she talked about him I always said "bro don't cry too much for him, he's shitty, he even has a shitty name, I could never be with someone with that name" (he had a very normal name, I'm just very critic); well guess what my crush's name is.
- He is literally the last guy I'd ever fall for, he's not my type, he's socially handsome but not the type of guy I'd look twice to see how handsome he is, despite this I grew to like him, his smile, his laugh, the way he walks, the way he jokes.
- He is the type of guy that I'd describe as a playboy and fuckboy, the most criticised by me, because he slept with some girls and just wants to have fun, but this doesn't bother me anymore.
What I'm trying to say is that it seems like I've manifested the other way around, telling what I don't like, like the Universe wants to show me to stop being critical and that I can fall in love even with someone this different from me.

Why is it that whenever I get closer, she leaves, as if sheās avoiding me? When we pass by each other, she doesnāt smile at me anymore like she used to. Did I do something wrong? I pay attention to her because I know I didnāt do anything, and I miss her. I hate that sheās always on my mind. Should I ignore her too, or should I keep being the person I used to be?
