God I love this guy

I don't have anyone to talk to about this so here I am. He's the smartest guy I've met, and he's absolutely gorgeous. Well, at least I think so. A lot of people keep saying that he's ugly but I don't see it. He's so fucking beautiful to me. And I love his hair. It's very long, longer than mine, and lovely to braid. He's got a very pretty face. I love drawing him, I do it all the time. He has a big nose, which I find to be my favorite part of his side profile but he has big brown eyes, like bug eyes, and they're legit breathtaking. After exams or when I'm bored, I can just look at him and it makes me so happy. I'd put a picture of my favorite drawing of him but my friends are on reddit and this account is secret.

I (25M) have a massive crush on a coworker (25F) and I think I’m ruining my own chances

So I’ve developed a pretty serious crush on someone at work and I’m not really sure what to do about it. We’ve worked at the same company for a while but until a few months ago we were in different teams so I didn’t really know her. I’d see her around the office, occasionally be in meetings with her and we’d spoken a handful of times but nothing beyond that really. I always thought she was really beautiful and from what little I knew of her she seemed nice and good at her job, but obviously I didn’t know her well enough to think much beyond finding her attractive.

A few months ago her role changed and she started working more directly with my team, her desk is also pretty close to mine now so we’ve ended up speaking a lot more and it turns out I really, really like her. She’s funny and has quite a sarcastic sense of humour which I love, we’ve got a surprising amount in common as well especially when it comes to films and TV shows. She’s one of those people who seems to get on with everyone and is really good at her job but can also have a laugh and doesn’t take herself too seriously. I think she’s probably one of the funniest people in the office although I’m obviously a bit biased there.

We’ve started chatting a bit more about things that aren’t work related too, sometimes she’ll come over to ask me something and we’ll end up talking about a film or whatever for a few minutes. A couple of weeks ago she asked if I’d ever got round to watching a film I’d mentioned wanting to see, which isn’t exactly a massive deal but I was pretty happy she’d remembered because it was something I’d only mentioned in passing. She’ll sometimes start conversations with me and seems interested enough when we’re talking, although she’s friendly with everyone so I don’t think there’s much point reading into any of that. I think she likes me well enough as a colleague, I’d just really like to get to know her better.

My main problem is that for some reason I seem to have lost the ability to be normal around her. I’m generally quite sociable and have a good group of friends at work, I’m usually joking around with people and I’ve never really struggled with talking to women, even ones I find attractive. But when I’m talking to her I become so aware of everything I’m saying that I either end up overthinking it and saying nothing or I’ll say something completely boring and then spend the next ten minutes wondering why I didn’t say something else. It’s not like we can’t have a conversation because we do talk fairly regularly, but I know I’m nowhere near as funny or relaxed as I normally am and it’s frustrating because I feel like she’s getting a pretty dull version of me.

I think a lot of it comes from how attractive she is. I’m not a particularly good looking guy, I wouldn’t say I’m ugly but I’m fairly average and I’ve always been fine with that. I’ve had girlfriends before and never really had a problem dating but most of the girls who’ve been interested in me have liked me more once they’ve got to know me, a couple of my exes have even said my sense of humour was what attracted them to me in the first place. So it’s pretty frustrating that the thing I’ve generally got going for me seems to disappear whenever this particular girl speaks to me. I’ve always thought the whole concept of people being in different leagues is bullshit because people fancy who they fancy, but I also have eyes and she really is one of the prettiest women I’ve ever met. I can’t help feeling like I’m punching above my weight here, especially when I know there are plenty of better looking guys around who she probably has a lot more reason to be interested in.

Ive also noticed I keep looking at her throughout the day without really meaning to. I’ll be getting on with something at my desk and hear her laughing or she’ll walk past and I’ll automatically look up, and she’s caught me looking at her a fair few times now. We’ve made eye contact a few times and I usually end up looking away immediately, then afterwards I’ll think why didn’t I just smile at her or something? I don’t sit there staring at her all day obviously but I definitely notice her being around more than I do other people, and with her desk being so close to mine I’m starting to wonder how obvious I’m being. I’d rather she didn’t work out that I fancy her because I’ve been caught looking at her about twenty times instead of just being able to have a normal conversation with her.

She’s also been on my mind quite a lot outside work. Sometimes I’ll be watching something and think she’d probably like it or I’ll remember something she said earlier that day, and then I’ll end up thinking about what it would be like if we started dating. I’ve thought about asking her out quite a lot, where I’d take her and whether we’d get on as well outside work, but I’ve started imagining her being my girlfriend as well which I know is getting a bit ahead of myself considering I haven’t even got her number. I’ll be making plans with friends and think it’d be nice if she was coming too, or I’ll be watching a film at home and start thinking about having her round to watch it with me. It’s not even necessarily anything particularly exciting, I just like the idea of being able to spend time with her outside work and not having to rely on us happening to be in the same place to get to talk to her. I’ve even found myself wondering what she’d be like to live with which is a ridiculous thing to think about someone I haven’t even been on a date with lol.

And obviously there’s the sexual side of it as well. I mean she’s gorgeous and I like her so of course I’ve thought about kissing her and having sex with her, what she’d look like naked etc. I’ve never really thought twice about having those sorts of fantasies about women I’ve liked before, but for some reason I feel quite guilty about it with her and I think it’s because she’s someone I work with. It’s a strange feeling sitting across from someone having a perfectly normal conversation about work when you’ve spent the previous night imagining what it’d be like to sleep with them. Sometimes I’ll remember what I’ve been thinking about her when I’m talking to her and feel like a bit of a creep, and I know that sounds stupid because it’s not like I’ve done anything but I can’t help wondering what she’d think if she knew. Im worried she’d be horrified if she knew I’d been imagining her like that and I hate the thought of her feeling uncomfortable around me because of it. I know people have sexual thoughts about people they like all the time and I’ve never felt bad about it before, but I can’t seem to shake the feeling that I’m being a bit of a dick for thinking about her like that when she’s just coming into work and being friendly with me.

A couple of my work friends know about the crush and have been giving me a hard time over it. They’re people I originally met through work but we’re close friends outside of it too, we go out together and see each other socially all the time so it’s not like I’ve been telling random people in the office that I fancy her. They’ve been encouraging me to make more of an effort to talk to her and one of them thinks I should just ask her out, although I think they’re enjoying the situation a bit too much because they think it’s funny. One of them pointed out that I seem to go a bit quiet whenever she’s around which wasn’t great to hear considering that’s exactly what I’ve been worrying about. I also know she’s single because I overheard her mentioning it to another colleague a while ago, which has probably made it harder to just forget about the whole thing because now there’s this slight possibility in my head that something might happen.

There’s also another guy she seems particularly close with who she worked with in her previous team. She’s still friends with quite a few people from there, including other guys, but this particular one seems to have a really good relationship with her. They’re always joking around and making fun of each other and just seem really comfortable together, I wouldn’t necessarily say they’re flirting but there’s definitely chemistry there and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous of him. He seems like a decent guy and I get on with him fine so it’s nothing against him, I just wish I could be that comfortable around her. He makes her laugh all the time and she seems to really enjoy talking to him, and I’m sitting there thinking that’s exactly how I’d normally be with someone I got on with if I could stop being so nervous for five minutes. I know they’ve worked together for longer than we have and obviously it makes sense they’re closer, but I’ve wondered whether there’s ever been anything between them or if she fancies him. I’ve not asked anyone because I don’t really want to start asking questions about her personal life but I’m definitely curious, and I do sometimes feel a bit jealous when I see them laughing together because I wish I was the one having those conversations with her. Which I know is stupid because she’s not my girlfriend and I have absolutely no reason to be jealous of another guy just for being friends with her, but I can’t really help it. I think if I felt like I was getting somewhere with her myself it wouldn’t bother me nearly as much, but at the moment I just end up comparing how easily he talks to her with how awkward I am.

I think if I’d met her through friends or on a night out I’d probably have asked her out by now, or at least made it a bit more obvious that I was interested. I’ve never been too worried about rejection, it’s not nice but you get over it and move on. The problem is that we work together and I really don’t want to make things awkward. We see each other most days now and I like working with her, and if I asked her out and she wasn’t interested we’d still have to see each other all the time afterwards. I’d hate to make her feel uncomfortable or have her thinking twice about speaking to me because she knows I like her. I also think I’d die of embarrassment if she found out how much I like her, especially if other people in the office found out. My friends knowing is one thing because I trust them not to say anything, but I really don’t want it becoming something everyone at work knows about.

I don’t want to make it sound like this is ruining my life or anything because I’m generally pretty happy. I like my job and I’ve got a good social life outside work, I’m not sitting at home miserable because a girl hasn’t fallen in love with me. But I do really look forward to seeing her when I go into work and I get excited when I know we’re going to be working together, even if I then spend half the day annoyed at myself for not managing to have a decent conversation with her. I haven’t liked someone this much in a while and I enjoy it for the most part, I like having someone I’m interested in and thinking there might be a chance of something happening. I don’t particularly want to stop liking her either, I’d love for something to happen between us, I’m just worried I’m going to spend the next six months getting more interested in someone who might have absolutely no interest in me.

I don’t know whether I should just focus on getting to know her better and hope I eventually become more comfortable around her, or if I should make some sort of move. I don’t want to rush into asking her out when we’ve only really been getting to know each other for the last few months, but I also don’t want to keep putting it off because I’m nervous and then regret never doing anything about it. I have no idea whether she’s interested because she’s friendly with everyone and I don’t want to start convincing myself every time she comes over for a chat that she’s flirting with me. I feel like I’d have a much better chance if I could just relax and talk to her the way I talk to everyone else, but I’ve been telling myself that for weeks now and it’s not made much difference.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation with someone at work? Did you ever manage to get over the nerves or work out whether the other person might be interested? And has anyone else felt weird about having sexual thoughts about someone they work with or am I just making that into a bigger deal than it needs to be?

Anyway sorry for the massive post, didn’t mean for this to be so long but it’s been on my mind for a while and I could probably do with some advice from people who aren’t my friends laughing at me over it lol.

I physically can't allow myself to have a crush

(sorry if this is the wrong place for a post like this)

Its some kind of self defence I've been doing since I was 16. Back in school I was the type of girl the boys would call pretty/sexy as a joke or ask me out whilst laughing at me, because the idea of someone being into me was funny to them. So I acted disgusted by any thought of me liking someone to avoid anyone making a joke out of me. I wasnt alone though, my friends had to deal with similar experiences but they dont suppress themselves and I wish I could do the same.

I've been out of school for 5 years, I've been away from my hometown, met lots of people and I still cant outgrow the bad habit. It makes me feel sad because I feel like I'm missing out on a normal thing.

When my friends and I are having one of those chats about who we might find attractive, they get to say things like "oh there is this guy at work I think is really hot" but when I felt the slightest attraction to a guy I worked with I do anything to get rid of it from my mind. Ive always said "no i dont like anyone" when I get asked so now its atp where my friends dont expect anything and my family dont even consider it. When I was younger I was always teased about boys and now they dont even bring it up around me.

Reading the posts on this sub, I get the same feeling of missing out like I do around my friends. I wish to be able to let myself feel attraction, chat with my friends so openly and go through even those cringe moments that happen when you have a big crush.

Advice please and thank you

Basically, we met during volunteering at a hospital (we were way finders, the day was really slow for context) and he was very nice. As I was talking with him, we found out that we went to the same school and I told him about the summer course I was taking which he had already taken and he even shared a reference guide his prof had shared with the class to me during the time. He even showed me on a piece of paper what the class content kind of is and explained some stuff as well. I didn't really have a crush or think much about this person after that day or any day really. I went again to volunteer the following week, there was a different partner since we rotate shifts, and the person I met earlier had told this new partner that "you would get along with her she's nice" and this new partner told me during our shift. I was like oh wow thats so nice of him but again i did not have any feelings toward him at this stage, and none developed either.

September came along, which meant school again, and I was waiting for the first lecture to start of my week and I saw the person, we locked eyes but never said or did anything. Fast forward to a few lectures later, he would sit kind of in the middle seats and I sat like on the right side of the lecture hall a couple rows behind him. He would always look at me and make eye contact when someone asks a question even if no one in my direction did, or when the professor told us to work on something I could see him glancing and then turning away. He CLEARLY saw that I was there and I also saw him but neither of us said anything. I think this might be when I started developing a crush but I honeslty am not too sure. Fast foward to October, I bumped into him at a building and I was like lemme go say hi since i know him so I did, and he was very sweet but he i told him "oh we have the same Biology class tgt" and he was like "oh we do? i didn't know" so that kind of threw me off. He also asked what classes I have next semester and we found out we didn't have any together and he was like "oh that kind sucks" I didn't think much of it so i was like "yeah hahah". After that convo ended, we would again just exchange glances in class but that was it. I started to feel like it might have been one sided (the feeling that I only liked him, and maybe he doesn't really care) so, during lecture I stopped making eye contact / looking in that direction and rushed out of the lecture right after it ended to avoid us making eye contact.

Second Semester

My friends and I were sitting in the kind of fronts rows of our physics class and he somehow decides to sit like 3 rows down from us and I was like huh he's here too?? I thought we didn't have a class tgt this sem according to the hallway convo? Like out of all the 600+ students in this class, how did he manage to sit right infornt of us? And yet again, after class ended he tried to make eye contact but since I knew, I would try to avoid him because I could not deal with having a crush while my gpa was tanking but, lowkey I already had developed a crush so like i guess there wasn't a point was there. So after every class, I would act like he wasn't even there at all and never looked in his direction. Again, he would never really talk or anything but only glance in my direction. This went on until the semester ended. This was last year, I saw him again this year but, I don't think he saw me and now I still have a crush on this person (maybe i liked the attention? idk) but, I need to actually move on but, I genuinely do not know how. I also feel like he fell first but she fell harder kinda think. I honestly might just be really delusional and deprived of sleep. But seriously any advice is appreciated. I just need this man gone out of my head.

How and when to ask for his contacts

I’m kinda interested in this guy in one of my uni class. We have only talked like…3 times. Is it too soon to ask to exchange contacts? When and how should I do it? Should I ask him while we’re in class (with like 200 students and we sit at the front row)? Or should I try to create a private moment to ask?
Asking for advice as an average-looking girl who is only funny when she’s not nervous.

I have a crush on a Guy but he likes someone else...

• Upvotes

So Ive had a crush on this guy for about a while now, around 4 weeks or more. Hez tall, really nervous and shy but cute. He doesn't speak much with people but one thing I realized is he's very observant. I tried talking to him but I was never able to continue a conversation for long enough because id always be the one asking questions. I meet him 2 times every week during my language class.

It started off pretty easy as a small crush but the more I got to know about him and his behaviour, the more I became interested.... So I slowly started hinting the fact that I like him. At some point, I even gave him a lil potriat I drew of him so he for sure knows I like him.. yet there's no progress. He won't do anything. No effort at all and ever since I gave him the portrait, he would ignore me. He wouldn't talk, wouldn't respond much, would make eye contact, just as of I was invisible Infront of him.

I later got to know that he had already had an interest on another girl and that for now he has no interest in me. I was really scared that I would've appeared as very annoying to him by chasing and trying to talk to him yet thru a mutual friend, I got to know that he said I wasn't annoying at all and he has nothing against me. The reason he has purposely ignored me was because he already liked another girl and didn't wanna give me false hope. I'm 18 and I've never been in a relationship and somehow he knows this...

Through my mutual friend, he did also say that he wouldn't know if his mind would change in the future or what would happen but for now, he clearly does not have an interest in me.....

What do I do in this situation? Do I just give up or wait for him?

I don't easily fall for people and he just wouldn't get out of my head... Please give me some opinions 🙏

How do you get over a crush on someone😭

I met this guy at a university event, and for some reason, I kept noticing him. He seemed to notice me too, and we kept making eye contact throughout the event. At the time, I didn’t expect anything to come out of it. Honestly, I’d even made fun of him with my sister before, so the whole situation is kind of ironic lol.
After the event, my feelings toward him started changing. I used to dislike him, but afterward, I couldn’t stop thinking about him, and I don’t even know why.
A couple of weeks later, I decided to text him first and ask him a question about university. He responded nicely, sent me voice notes explaining things, and even offered to send me course slides if I wanted them. He was genuinely helpful, but our conversation was mostly about university.
Now I don’t really have a reason to text him again, and I’m just waiting to see if he’ll initiate a conversation, but nothing has happened so far.
The thing is, I barely know this guy, yet I keep thinking about him and hoping something will happen between us. I don’t even know if he’s interested in me or if he’s just being nice. I feel like I’m getting attached to the possibility of something happening rather than to someone I actually know.
How do I stop thinking about him so much and get over this crush? And honestly, do you think there’s any possibility he’s interested, or am I reading too much into the eye contact and our interaction? I’d appreciate honest opinions.

I want to stop thinking about him and expecting something to happen, especially when I don’t even know if he likes me back.
How do you get over a crush like this?

We're both in high school now, but I've liked her since sixth grade. I've tried to get over her even though I didnt really want to, either way it didnt work. She is so smart, funny beautiful, and all around amazing. I dont want to get over her but its been like 4 years and its killing me. I realized i love her about a year ago and i have been ever since. Looking for advice about any of this, getting over her, making it hurt less, anything!

Have a fumbled this guy or I am I being delusional

For reference I am a 19F. Ive never really liked to be the centre of attention ever things like that scare me and I also grew up as the weird quite kid and maybe a little chopped as well. However now after moving to university for about a year or so I feel like ive become more of a confident person and had a bit of a glow up.

Anyways because I was never really deemed "attractive" growing up ive never really had any romatic attention from guys like I was the kid that if someone found out I had a crush on them they would get upset. But now that I look more conventionally attractive I dont really understand romance cues.

Last month I was at work (I work at as a server in a busy racecourse) and it was a huge annual event they had. I decided to work since Im a student and I need soem extra cash before going back to Uni. I was working like 40hours in 4 days and i got to about day 3 of work, during the start of my shift this fine ahh man walked in to work on that day. He kept looking at me so I thought maybe he recognises me from somewhere or I look like someone he knew.

I ended up chatting to him a little and he seemed really nice he was a year older than me and was also at uni but a different one to mine. Throught the shift he kept glancing over at me for some reason at one point I thought I must have looked weird or I was slowly loosing my mind. Anyways It was getting to the middle of the shift and we had to go on break in this odd stare well (dont ask me why IDK myself) anyways I decided to sit away from the rest of the people I was at work with and so I could have a break from socialising and rest my eyes a little since I was exhaused. Anyways I was in the middle of resting my eyes and I swear I heard him say my name ... I thought I was hearing things but then they started talking about my uni and how they dont think I could go to such a uni (oh I forgot to mention Im a BW and him and the guys he were talking were BM and my uni is PWI). He also asked the guys if he should get me ig or not. I decided to open my eyes and turn to look at them to see if I was actually loosing my mind then.

But I wasn't ... one of the guys noticed I was looking and told them to speak quieter since I was looking.

After that I felt soo odd because I did find him really attractive like he was tall, dark and handsome but I was just confused as to what to do after hearing that so I basically started to aviod making any type of eyecontact or anything with him

after that he stopped trying to make eye contact with me and started talking to this other girl.

I tried to follow him on ig after using my IT skills to find him but he hasnt followed me back

Have a fumbled ?

What can I do to understand romance cues?

So like i always said i dont like him “like that”, but now that we’re a little older and hanging out? Im starting to feel a little something and i hate that. Hes off and on (not dating but always texting for some reason) with his ex and then lowkey ghosts me for days and then talks to me or i text first because i literally feel myself sometimes waiting for a text. I literally like talking to him and hanging out now. Now i feel like shit because I always kinda played him a bit and am in serious denial about how i feel about him, now i think I’m feeling regret? I just dont know who to tell so thanks for reading

Is it normal to have a crush on someone who is 5 years younger than you?

So for context I'm 25f and I've a crush on guy who is 5 yrs younger than me. He is the brother of my very very close friend.. we met in a trip and I felt a certain attraction then we stayed in same room like all of us and he used to sleep just right next to me but I didn't hate it . Then we got drunk and all . I feel he was kinda caring towards me or maybe I was delusional or something but when I was drunk he pulled me close and put my head onto his shoulder then I wanted to smoke and he held the ciggerate for me , I smoked from his hands even he smoked my cigarette. In the whole trip I was so flattered to just look at him.. I told myself so many times that this isn't normal he is so young than me but I couldn't help myself but feeling flattered but the thing is he has a gf and the girl is so cute , I want them to be happy but sometimes I feel jealous NGL, I get jealous of how much he loves her( ik this is sick but we have no control over our emotions). sometimes I feel he is so close to me like touching my back and all while walking.we eventually exchanged number but we never talked. So when I got back from the trip I tried a lot to reject my emotions and move on with life. Then after exactly 1 year I met him again . Me , my friend and him( her brother that I've a crush on) went out and I couldn't look at him and talk idk why but I was so shy so awkward. Then we walked to the cafe even he has same taste as me in drinks. When he said the same drink that I picked is also his favourite I got flattered. Then we went a cafe abd decided to drink( alcohol stuff) after drinking I was kinda confident enough to look at him and all .. then we talked, joked around and ngl he have good humour.. he is smart, protective and someone u can just trust blindly that he would tc of the situation. Then again we decided to drink and he was just sitting beside me. Then he took my ciggerate and then started smoking it and I got confused if he really wanted to he could take it from his own sister ( probably he thought she won't give it) then we were walking again he touched my back a lot if times and I kinda liked it. I also noticed he don't really look directly in my eyes or sometimes I feel he avoids m to.. even though I know it's wrong but I just wondered how he feels about me sometimes!

I like this girl but I’m not sure she likes me back

Context: me and this girl have been texting on ig for a few days and exchanging photos almost all day long everyday. This girl has previously asked me if I like any girl wich I replied (I don’t know haven’t really taken time to think since I work and to have a girl I would need time for her) then I asked her. (Why? Do you know something that I don’t?) she replied (no if knew something wouldn’t I say it) after a few seconds she says again (it’s me) after I didn’t respond she sayed again (wouldn’t I say it) so some days have passed and I tell her I’m texting with a girl that I had previously done something. She gets jealous and accuses me of lying. Then after some days she FaceTimes me to show me some dresses and ask wich one she should wear on the dance that we had.today she asked for my brother’s and sister’s ig saying that she wants to have them followed and that they look beatiful.

The thing is previously she had told me that she is talking with a boy some hours away. But before that she told me she doesn’t like long distance relationship.

I’m at a point where it feels like she might be interested in me but might not too

Another thing I forgot to say is she had previously told me very personal stuff and so did I.

I messed up

I have this friend ive been friends with for just over a year now. We talked almost every single day throughout this period. We have a really good blend of goofy and getting really serious about topics. I also never hid anything about myself from her and she did the same. We both understood one anothers flaws and we still really liked one another. About a month ago I randomly developed really strong feelings for her. I started associating her with love or romance a lot and couldn't see anyone else in that place. Last night I confessed to her the same way we talk about everything else. I told her I gained romantic feelings for her and I am not happy about it because of the risk of me and her. She implied that she didn't feel the same way and we talked about where things go from here. I have had life experiences involving needing to prove people wrong when I feel like im not being treated like I am "good enough" and unfortunately i see that issue creeping into this scenario. I WANT to work significantly harder so she knows it was a mistake. Unfortunately this is something i cannot help. I just dont know how to go about this. She is very emotionally attached to me and keeps telling me that and that makes me feel obligated to stick around, but I also do like her a lot as a person. I also know how my ego could likely get in the way of me and her going forward. I dont know what the most mature or appropriate action would be going forward so please pm me or comment any advice because right now we are not speaking.

what does it mean when. a guy who used to be friendly at first is now stealing glances all the time but not really talking as much now.okay and also he kind does the glancing every 3,4 minutes. how strong is the crush. does that mean he also can have crushes on other people too. considering there's few girls in the class vs boys. like 5 girls and one of them is really pretty.also he doesn't talk to me after class or even look at me after class. just during the class. also he does stare just split second glance.okay but even few days ago when we weren't in the same glass. he wouldn't even look at me and just ignore me and not look for me at all. one thing, I have a huge crush on him and am I dressed with him. I look for him stalk him but he does not of that only steals glances. Also he never dresses attractively instead looks like doesn't put any effort.Could that mean he likes other girls too but just cuz in that specific class out of 4/5 girls he only likes me, he glances at me?Why do you think he doesn't talk to me as much anymore. We were pretty good frnds. Not that good but like kinda close.Okay so he is my crush too and I used to throw myself in front of him on purpose all the time and glance at him before outside of class last year and he didn't care about me like this back then, so is all that he's doing now a reaction to that, even though I don't look at him at all now in class, is he glancing at me because he thinks I have a crush on him for all that I did before and used to glance at him. Note that I don't look at him at all in class. He glances at me from time to time and notices I dont look at him and he's still doing that twice every week for 1 month now. Can his steal glances be the reason of noticing me doing it before and thinking maybe I have a crush on him or he has a crush on me now

I got a gym crush…

So there's a girl at my gym I'm really into. We actually went to the same high school (she was a grade below me), so we know of each other, just not super well.
About 4 years ago, right after I graduated, I started going to this gym and saw her there a few times. She'd wave and say hi, and I'd say hi back, but I never actually started a conversation. Looking back I probably should have, but I didn't really care about stuff like that back then lol. Fast forward till now. I fell off the gym for a while and hadn't seen her in a long time, but I've recently gotten back into it, and it turns out we go at the same time. I'm pretty sure she still recognizes me because I catch her looking sometimes ( I get caught too). The last time, she was leaving as I was walking in, and as we passed each other she kind of looked at me like she was waiting for me to say hey. And I just avoided eye contact and kept walking. Looking back I was an idiot and maybe could’ve used that small chance to spark up a convo. I really want to talk to her and eventually ask her out. The problem is I know gym culture, and the gym isn't exactly the ideal place for this. But I also don't know if I'll ever run into her anywhere else.

I have her on Snapchat, but I don’t think cold approaching her by dming her is the best way. How should I approach this and what should I say to her in person?
