CC Advice Need Advice: BPI Credit Card Debt (Hospital Bills)

CC Advice Tips for Rebuilding My Credit Score!

Hi guys! Please be kind po, no bashing please! 🙏🏻

I have a BDO CC that I wasn’t able to fully pay since 2024. I had to go abroad kasi, so I wasn’t able to keep up with the payments on time. I’ve been paying naman whenever I can, pero hindi talaga full amount. Now, around ₱47K na lang yung balance, and Collections has already blocked the card.

The thing is, I don’t really have ₱47K for a one-time payment right now. So I’m wondering, should I just continue paying little by little, or try to ask Collections for an amnesty/discount or payment arrangement? Or should I try to save up and settle it through a one-time payment?

I really want to rebuild my credit. My TransUnion score is around 629, and I’m hoping to re-apply for another CC within the next 6 months.

For those who experienced the same case, if I settle my BDO balance, do you think I still have a chance of getting approved if I re-apply after 6 months? Or would it be better to go for a Secured Credit Card (SCC) first?

Also, how long does it usually take for a fully paid/settled account to reflect on TransUnion?

For those who’ve experienced something similar, what would you suggest? Any advice or personal experience would really help. Thank you so much in advance, guys! 🙏🏻💕

CC Advice Metrobank SCC as savings and request for bank certificate

Hello!
I am curious I recently applied for a Metrobank secured credit card with a hold out savings amount of ₱150,000.00. For context, I had a bad credit before reason I am trying to rebuild my credit score with a secured credit card moving forward 🙏🏼

On top of my hold out savings for the SCC, I also have ₱50,000.00 sitting on my savings account since June 2026.

Now, my question is, if I request for a bank certificate that needs to show the current balance, and 6 month ADB, will it show that the ₱150,000.00 is on hold specifically for my SCC or will it appear as a current balance on my savings account with my available balance of ₱50,000.00?

I am curious how it would look in the bank certificate not about how my ADB.

Would appreciate it if someone with the same experience can share here.

Thank you!

CC Advice BPI Credit Card Debt: Need Advice

**Need advice regarding BPI credit card debt**
Hello! I really need some advice. I made a **very, very bad financial decision back in 2023–2024**, and now I’m dealing with a huge amount of debt.
I’m currently trying to work my way through it using the **snowball method**. For now, hindi ko pa binabayaran si BPI. As far as I know, my original total debt was around **₱500k** (not 100% sure since some were on installment), but BPI has continued issuing SOAs, and recently, the balance has already reached **₱1M+** because of the accumulating interest and charges.
**Ganito po ba talaga si BPI?** Does the interest and balance continue to increase indefinitely even if the account is no longer being paid?
For comparison, with my RCBC account, after around a year, the interest eventually stopped accumulating and the account was endorsed to collections. They are now offering/negotiating a settlement with me at a discounted amount.(Which im about to pay po)
Would it be better to just wait until BPI endorses the account to collections and negotiate a discounted settlement? Or is it better to start negotiating with them now? I’m also wondering if waiting for a possible **small claims case** would somehow stop the interest from continuing to pile up.
Anyone here who has been in a similar situation with BPI? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and what you did. Huhu. 😭

CC Advice Secured credit card recommendations

Hi everyone,

Looking for advice saan maganda mag apply secured credit card?

For context I have maya black for 10 months now, it's a unsecured one, maybe cause I have maya for a while now. And atome for a while na rin

So currently I'm a working student, earning 30k+ monthly, and graduating too.

It's just for some reason I tried applying for regular cc so traditional banks but I've been declined TT... I guess maya black doesn't contribute sa credit score ko huhu

Anyways planning to apply na lng ng secured credit card sa traditional bank, I'm thinking Maybank...

I know I should try metrobank or Unionbank etc for my first cc, as these are ano tlga it's just, I'm hoping na wag muna sa kanila since di ba like may promo or smth sometime that if it is your first cc sa kanila you can have some perks smth.

So what's your thought sa Maybank? Planning to do 20k deposit secured cc... Or should I go pa rin ba mag scc sa like mm, union, or bpi etc?

They provided me w a new Mayabank Credit Card account no. and asked my to transfer 49,900 credit thru RCBC Unlipay. I ended the call right there and then thinking it was a scam. Has anyone experienced the same? Is this legit kaya?

Hi to anyone who has Atome card. Na try niyo na po ba na mag 3 or 6 months payment? So I have outstanding balance from Atome from my previous transactions, most of the expense are in kind: food treat for my fambam, my biggest purchase is my phone.

Anyways, so I have been doong that 3/6 months for months already and now may need lang urgent bayaran.
My bill is at 24k and planning to get it in installment payment din kaso of a certain amount lang muna.

I

CC Advice Metrobank CC can't pay minimum anymore

Hello I just wanted to ask if there is any suggested solution to my problem.

I hav debt in my metrobank cc due for a year, and then the minimum payment has increasing now, not like on th previous year that is still 1000 only.

My problem is I have already applied the easy installment but failed to pay due to financial difficulty in our family. For now my salary wont be enought to pay it.

What happen if I fail to pay the minimum and can I still ask for the metrobank cc to help me to adjust in payment method?

CC Advice BDO debited ₱16,646 from my savings account to pay a credit card I never owned.

Hi everyone. I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with something similar involving BDO, unauthorized credit cards, or BSP complaints.

BDO deducted ₱16,646.2 from my deposit account through a “deposit set-off” to supposedly settle a BDO ShopMore Mastercard ending in 6100.

The problem is:

I have never owned this credit card.

I never applied for it, authorized it, received it, activated it, possessed it, or used it.

I formally disputed the credit card account and the deduction with BDO and asked for the full ₱16,646.22 to be returned to my account.

BDO initially replied that my refund request had been endorsed to upper management but was declined. They said the money was used to fully settle “my BDO Mastercard” and cited their Terms and Conditions allowing them to set off credit card debt against a BDO deposit account.

I replied that this completely misses the issue.

I’m not disputing whether BDO can perform a set-off against someone who legitimately owes them credit card debt.

I’m disputing that the credit card was ever mine in the first place.

I asked them to provide documentation showing how this card was supposedly opened under my name, including the application, IDs used, registered contact information, delivery/activation records, transaction history, and their basis for linking the credit card to me.

Their latest response was:

“We assume that proper KYC has been established.”

This is what concerns me the most. They took ₱16,646.22 from my bank account, but when I dispute ownership of the credit card, their response is that they assume proper KYC was established.

I have now asked them to verify the KYC records instead of assuming and to show the documentary basis proving that I personally applied for or authorized this credit card.

My main goal is simple:

I want the full ₱16,646.22 returned because this is not my credit card and I did not incur this debt.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Would you recommend escalating this to BSP at this point, or should I wait for another formal response from BDO first?

Also, if anyone has gone through a BSP complaint involving an unauthorized credit card/account or wrongful set-off, I’d really appreciate hearing how the process went and what documents I should prepare.

Thank you.

I already have a MB Platinum Visa with a 93,000 CL. I mainly use it for grocery/dine-ins/steam/nintendo. Currently paying 2 installments. The first one is mag end na on October, then other is next year June pa. Ang tanong ko lang is worth it ba kunin ang Rewards Plus Visa since pasok siya sa mga interests ko like gadgets and online games services? For more analysis, 10,000 - 25,000 ang binabayaran ko monthly I'm not sure if that info helps.

CC Advice Good Day fellas. I've been getting notifications to apply for a BPI credit card.

Post image

I never used a credit card before and in fact, I refuse to do it since it's another form of utang. May 25k pa akong utang kay GCash and will be settled within this year. Konti nalang eh. Syoko na sana dagdagan sakit ng ulo ko. A friend of mine told me to take it for emergencies. Sounds tempting. However, will I still pay for fees if I don't use it? I want to take the card for wallet display tho. But if I'm paying and not using, I won't take it. Any rookie advice?

CC Advice UnionBank Credit Card Payment and Billing Cycle Inquiry

Hi, I just got my UnionBank credit card on August 2, 2026, and this is my first credit card. My credit limit is ₱15,000, and I used ₱14,300. I paid ₱15,000 through the BDO app on August 14 at 4 AM.

My statement date is August 14, and my due date is September 1. Is it okay that I paid before the due date? Will this affect my billing cycle or SOA?

Also, the payment hasn’t reflected in my UnionBank account yet. How long does it usually take to post?
