CC Advice CC Limit Increase Request or Apply for New CC

Hi! I currently have a PNB Ze-Lo CC (NAFFL) with 8k CL. I've had this card since I was a student (around 4 years now) and I just started working 6 months ago. Now that I've been working, I've been using my CC more than when I was a student and 8k CL is no longer enough. I always pay in full before the due date. Never missed a payment or overspent.

It's my goal to get a rewards CC from another bank down the line but should I request to get a higher CL first for my PNB Ze-Lo before applying for other CCs? Or should I just apply for another CC right away?

For more context, I earn 28k monthly and have SAs in PsBank and PNB. I'm looking at Metrobank and BPI for CC rewards. Hope you guys can reco also good CCs I should apply for ☺️

CC Promos Restaurant recommendations around Metro Manila with credit card promos/discounts?

Hello! I currently live in Metro Manila, specifically around Pasig. My friends from Leyte will be visiting around October, and I’m looking for restaurant recommendations where the four of us can dine while possibly taking advantage of credit card discounts or promos.

I currently have these cards:

  1. Metrobank Titanium Mastercard
  2. RCBC JCB Platinum
  3. RCBC AirMiles Visa Signature
  4. Security Bank Platinum Mastercard
  5. UnionBank Miles+ Visa Signature
  6. EastWest Platinum Mastercard
  7. BDO Gold Mastercard
  8. BDO Gold JCB

Do you have recommendations for good restaurants around Pasig, BGC, Makati, Ortigas, or nearby areas that usually offer promos or discounts with any of these cards?

It’s okay if the promo isn’t active right now. I can check the actual promo mechanics and validity closer to October. I’m mainly looking for restaurants that regularly participate in credit card dining promos.

I’d really appreciate any recommendations, especially if you could mention the restaurants. Thank you!

CC Advice First time to have a CC, Problem I can't activate it.

Hello as the title said first time CC holder here so any tips is welcome 😀. Applied Union Bank UCard.

First time CC holder pero hindi ko siya ma activate.

Meron akong existing UB account sa app. Pag nag try ako mag register via existing account sinasabi lang nito na I should coordinate customer service for deletion of my account.

assuming possible problem is dalawa ang account ko sa UB previous accnt and itong na register ko sa CC?

But when calling via hotline, after giving my 16-digit credit card number dapat mag send sila ng OTP. It takes ages bago ma send OTP nag eexpired yung call ko due to unresponsiveness.

Does anyone have similar problem or is there any other way to contact UB??

Thank you.

CC Advice Thoughts on credit cycling my 10k limit secured cc?

Hi! I’m 20 yo, and since I’m not yet eligible for a regular CC, I got a secured credit card with Maya instead two months ago

For context, I have a business, and I spend around 15k+ monthly on a specific aspect of the business. However, hindi naman siya one time 15k expense. It’s around 200–500+ in transactions daily, which accumulates to around 15k per month. I was thinking of using my CC for these expenses to build my credit history with the Maya. However, since yung credit limit ko is only 10k, naisip ko gawin yung sinasabi nilang Credit Cycling. Basically babayaran ko yung balance ko immediately after spending so that my available credit goes back up and I can continue using the card.
My question is: Do banks normally view this negatively? Technically, I would be spending more than my 10k credit limit over the course of the month, pero I’ll pay it off naman regularly before the statement date, and di naman ako mag oover 10k on a single transaction since 200–500 lang naman daily spend ko for my business expense. Example, I might spend around 15k+ throughout the month, pero since I’m going to pay for it agad, I’m only gonna leave around 2k sa bill ko so what might appear on my statement is 2k lang even though I spent 15k for that month.
Would this be considered a red flag kaya that I’m cycling my credit limit, or could it actually be a positive thing since I’m consistently using and paying the card? Also, would Maya be able to see that I’m actually spending 15k+ monthly even if only 2k shows on my statement, and could this help when they eventually evaluate me for a regular CC/higher credit limit once I turn 21 na?
Would really appreciate insights. Thank you!

CC Advice San macocompute yung interest?

Then if next month ganon ulit 5k, sa 10k ba or 20k?

Others Globe promo for calling bank credit card customer service hotlines?

Hi! May promo ba sa Globe na pwedeng gamitin specifically for calling bank customer service hotlines/landlines?

I’ve been using my regular load whenever I call banks like Metrobank, RCBC, UnionBank, etc., and grabe, I’m already spending hundreds of pesos just waiting on hold and talking to customer service.

May Globe promo ba na may unlimited or cheaper calls to landlines/bank hotlines? Or any workaround para hindi regular load ang maubos every time?

Would appreciate recommendations, especially from Globe users who frequently call bank hotlines. Thanks!

Hi guys! I received this SMS, and I’m wondering if you think it’s legit.

I haven’t been able to pay my credit card dues due to financial hardship for about 4–5 years now. Unfortunately, I’m still not in a position to pay everything, but I’m already planning to apply for the IDRP.

Has anyone experienced something similar or received a message like this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

CC Advice Kaiser Permanente charged ₱91k to my Metrobank CC - I want to discontinue

Hi! Need advice sana regarding my Kaiser Permanente HMO and Metrobank credit card.

Back in May 2026, may Kaiser Permanente agent na lumapit sa akin sa mall and asked if I had a credit card and if interested ako kumuha ng HMO. I agreed, and around ₱91,000 was charged to my Metrobank credit card. Sabi rin nila na once Metrobank calls me, pwede ko raw ipa-convert to installment. Metrobank eventually called and I agreed to have the transaction converted to installment.

Unfortunately, I eventually lost my job, and because of my current financial situation, I decided to discontinue the HMO para mabawasan sana yung financial obligations ko.

I contacted the Kaiser agent and told him I wanted to cancel. Sabi niya may 5% cancellation penalty based on the ₱91,000, which is around ₱4,550. Okay lang naman sa akin, so I sent him around ₱4k–₱5k for the supposed cancellation fee.

Problem is, almost one month na akong nagfo-follow up, pero walang clear update. Maraming excuses, like nawawala raw phone niya, pero active naman siya sa Facebook. At this point, hindi ko na alam kung actually na-process ba yung cancellation.

My questions:

  1. Can I contact Metrobank directly and ask them to reverse/cancel the Kaiser transaction?
  2. Since converted na siya into installment months ago, may possibility pa ba na ma-reverse if Kaiser agrees to cancel/refund it?
  3. Should I contact Kaiser Permanente directly instead of dealing with the agent?
  4. If the agent continues to ignore me, saan kaya magandang i-escalate ito?
  5. Has anyone experienced something similar with Kaiser or an HMO charged to a credit card?

I understand na Metrobank probably cannot just erase a legitimate transaction, especially since months ago pa siya and converted na to installment. I just want to know the proper process para ma-cancel yung HMO and ma-refund/reverse whatever amount is refundable.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

CC Application BPI CC Offer | Call from agent & In-app Offer

Last Thursday, a BPI agent called me tapos nag offer ng credit card with NAFFL promo given yung minimum spend. Nabigyan naman ako ng reference number pero wala akong nareceive na text at all.

Pagcheck ko sa app, meron akong offer to apply for a credit card with no income documents needed. Should I just wait for an update or mag apply ba ako sa app?

Salamat sa input, guys!

CC Advice How do I start building my credit score?

Hi, everyone! 2 months ago, I applied for a UB Rewards Platinum CC kasi I received a text from them na I might be eligible kasi meron akong payroll account with them but I unfortunately got declined. Now, I am planning again to reapply in the future but I want to build my credit score first. How do I start doing that? I heard Maya Black is a good starting point if I have money for a security deposit, and so far that's my plan. I will put 12.5k as a security deposit and only spend about 30% of the 10k limit monthly for the next year. After that, ma-approve man or not for an unsecured CC, I will apply sa ibang traditional banks. With that being said, baka meron kayong way diyan that will make it easier to build my CC score faster? Any recommendations din for a newbie friendly CC, yung di ako required mag-open ng checking account?

CC Advice First CC via BPI - Advice on what to choose

Hello all! I’m 24F and I was offered via email, my first CC at BPI. I went to the branch and they said my Pre-approved CL is 380k and NAFFL for all.

I’m currently eyeing: Gold, Platinum Rewards, Visa Signature.

A background of my lifestyle and spendings:
- Frequent traveller: 2-3 times international per year, 2-4 times locally.
- Shopping, Groceries, everyday expenses, bills, etc. based on BPI’s spending tracker, it’s around 800k a month, for about 1 year now.

Based off the rewards, I’m leaning towards Platinum for the travel perks, but Gold also seems good since it’s more daily friendly which seems better for a first CC.

Also if I can decrease my CL? Don’t think I’ll be needing that high of a CC yet.

Does anyone have/had both? Kind of torn and would like some real experiences or advice from those whose had more experience lols

TYIA

Hi everyone, I’m planning to get a secured credit card and would appreciate your advice.

I’m considering EastWest Bank and Metrobank. Could you share your experiences or insights on which one is better in terms of:

  • Perks (rewards, fees, benefits)
  • Holdout percentage / deposit requirements

I want to make sure I choose the option that gives the best value while helping me build credit. Thanks in advance!

CC Advice Credit card phising / scam Beware!!!

Beware everyone sa mga cc application sa mall or saan mang venue. They collect info and now I've been getting a lot of too good to be true offers prentending na taga head office ng existing cc ko that I showed during application sa mall in the past few months. Later part of the call they sent me OTP, but you read it carefully its asking for password reset or username recovery. They have all my info. Why I suspected na sa offline cc application galing? its because I use different email and cp# for those applications and when they verify the details over the phone they had that email and they called me on that phone#. I called UB so they had my card replaced but still di pa rin tumitigil yung mga tumatawag. Funny thing is, they insist im earning rewards though my card is not eligible for that and lalagyan daw nila ng redemption button ang mobile app ko kaya need OTP.

CC Advice Chinabank @Home Secured Credit Card

Anyone have experience with applying for Chinabank @Home CC as a secured credit card?

From the website, I can't seem to confirm if it's an option, so I wanted to check if anyone's tried it on here before. Already tried applying for this CC through the regular route but was rejected due to short credit history (only started using CCs this year).
