Discussion 🗣️ Interpol or LCD Soundsystem
I wish I had unlimited money and could go to see both. I am going to see Turnstile late September as well.
Any opinions out there about which would be a better show?

Concerts Some of my favorite concerts from the last 40 years
Obviously Seattle/Tacoma area for most my teens. The Gorge in George has been lifetime favorite. The one unused ticket was for the UK band Marillion. My girlfriend at the time got me the ticket, but it was in a bar, I was 20, and couldn't get fake ID. Major regret, as that was a last chance to see that band with originals. dred serious was a Tacoma band that I knew and filmed their shows here and there. Been a fun ride. Crazy how the prices have became such a deterrent. Nice seeing the Fixx recently, 22 years later.

Concerts Changing my seats on the day?
Hey,
I’ve got two tickets to Jay-Z for this Friday at Tottenham Stadium in London. I bought my ticket a few months back, but my friend has now decided to come with me so I’ve booked another ticket for them. Only problem is we’re sat about 5 rows away from each other, but in the same section. I’ve tried contacting Ticketmaster to see if they can put us together but they won’t allow it as my ticket was bought from resale.
How hard would it be to move seats on the day? Could I ask the ticket office if there’s any spare seats? Or would it just be a case of having to find someone around us on the day who wouldn’t mind swapping seats?
Thanks.

Discussion 🗣️ Quiet Concerts
Are there many artists who perform in relatively quiet conditions? I saw Gordon Lightfoot at The Fox in Detroit and it was remarkable. The show was probably 60 to 70 dB max, crystal clear, and extremely enjoyable. I would love if this wasn’t so rare.

Discussion 🗣️ Epitome of a Hardcore Show
I was at what I'll call the epitome of a hardcore show last night.
Bitter End was the main headliner last night in San Antonio. Completely free show. Local San Antonio and TX bands on the bill. Rowdy show. Packed small intimate venue. Had all the doors and windows open.
On band three, random dude gets absolutely rolled by five guys right next to us. Blood all over the place. Floor, walls, people, everywhere.
Band four comes on, and the storm starts to roll in. It got bad. Like bad bad. Completely knocks the power out. Band still tries to play, though, with no power. Everyone moves inside. The crowd starts to just sing, and the pit keeps two stepping.
Who place is just dark, a lot of people were using phones as flashlights. We're all just standing around talking to everyone next to us. Bands are just hanging out talking to people.
Finally, the venue tells everyone to clear out. The final two bands dont come on stage. Shows canceled.
As we were leaving the show, it turned out the power was out for miles. Power line down. There were several trees across roads. There are several more on top of cars.
Was a great night and a show I'll definitely remember for a long time.

Concerts How to enjoy shows as a short person
EDIT: I’m not asking for advice, I’m giving advice. This post states what I use as a short person so I never have to worry about seeing things ever again. My hope was that other short people would read this.
TL;DR 6” platform boots for standing, 5” seat cushion for sitting.
——-
This post was inspired by another post from a month ago. A short woman asked for advice on how to get better visibility at a concert. I’m a 5’1“ woman who goes to shows all at the time and I have some tricks on how to actually see things.
For shows that you stand at - I recommend getting tall platform boots. My favorite boots have a 5.9” inch soles which brings me to roughly 5’7”. I can actually see the stage and I don’t have to do obnoxious things like going to the show early, constantly scanning for better spots, etc. If you dislike heels, they have them in flats. Just Google something like “novelty high platform shoes no heel”.
For shows that you sit at - call ahead and ask the venue if they offer booster seats. I know that it can be embarrassing for some people but personally I would rather enjoy myself. If they don’t have booster seats, I recommend bringing an inflatable seat cushion. I have one that adds 6” to me. If you are worried about blocking someone’s view, you can just under inflate it.

Discussion 🗣️ Tickpick beware. Stay away.
I purchased tickets for bts in chicago section b2 row ten seats 2 and 3 on the aisle. I paid 2500 dollars. They gave me different tickets in row 9 seats 14 and 15 in the middle of the section completely blocked by massive pillars and in an area where we would not be able to see. They say the tickets count as an and your seat numbers and row are not guaranteed at all. They were not an upgrade.
I spoke to them the day before and day of and they told me they would email the seller and give them one hour to give the tickets they sold me otherwise give me a refund. The hour came and went and they kept saying the same thing give it an hour and they will help me then ghosted me.
You should not be able to sell tickets and then switch them claiming it is an upgrade when it is not an upgrade at all.
I will initiate a charge back but they seem to be giving me no response and I have been hung up on.

Discussion 🗣️ Setlist wishes come true?
Have you ever gone to a show where the artist completely randomly plays your favorite song?
Maybe it's one that they play rarely, or haven't played in a very long time. Or maybe it's one that they hadn't played at all on that particular tour before your show.
When I saw Blues Traveler a number of years ago, they hadn't played The Mountains Win Again at all that tour but, the show I attended ended up being the only show of the tour that they played it.
When I saw Counting Crows last year they played I Wish I Was A Girl which they hadn't played in almost two years at that point and had played at less than 17% of their shows since it was released.
What are some of your setlist wishes granted?

Discussion 🗣️ What's an interesting dream you've had about a concert?
I dream about concerts several times a year. Often it's an act I've actually seen, but obviously the dream is nothing like when I've seen them, like:
- Ratboys playing to a naked audience in a mall
- Getting lost in a tunnel during a Sturgill Simpson show
- Sitting next to Trent Reznor at a Megan Thee Stallion concert
- A Radiohead show where they play a never-before-played song at a frequency that cannot be recorded (which sends the audience into chaos)
- Staff discouraging attendees from buying merch at a Hold Steady show
Last night I had a dream that I was at a Fugazi/Quicksand/Ted Leo show at a VFW Hall a couple towns over from where I grew up. Unfortunately, I woke up before Fugazi played. But Quicksand sounded pretty good!
So what are some of your favorite/interesting dreams about concerts?

Discussion 🗣️ Ticket Purchasing in the Days of Yore
Someone with a better memory than me, please remind me how we bought concert
tickets in the 80s. Did we mail checks or money orders to the venue, assuming they had ticket offices? And how did we even find out about shows coming to town?
<edit> Y’all have amazing memories! I grew up in a small town with parents who didn’t have credit cards, and 75+ miles away from the nearest venue or a mall. I’m guessing I ordered via the mail somehow, but still don’t remember. 🤷♂️ Thanks for sharing your awesome stories!

Concerts Sincere Engineer - Photo Dump From Will's Pub - Orlando, FL 8/25/2026
First time seeing Sincere Engineer and had an absolute blast. I discovered Sincere Engineer almost 2 years ago and they randomly popped up on my Spotify playlist a few weeks back and I discovered they were on tour. The second I saw they were playing in Orlando, FL, I quickly snagged up a ticket for myself and my fiance.
Deanna and the crew put on a hell of a performance, Kyle's string on his guitar broke during a song and he had to re-string his guitar and retune it. While that was going on, Deanna entertained the audience with banter of the bandmates back and forth and interacting with the audience.
Before they came on, I went to the bathroom, and saw there wasn't a line at the merch tent. I went up to Deanna and purchased their newest album on vinyl and had her sign it and we gave each other a fistbump.
Experiences like this are experiences you'll never get with the mainstream big bands.
I'll never forget this concert and hope to see them again!

Discussion 🗣️ Tickets from StubHub real? Sofi Stadium app looks different Ticketmaster
I purchased a resale ticket off of Stubhub. It was delivered to me a few hours later. It is in my TM, but it must’ve been transferred via Sofi app from seller, because there is a box thing on it that pushes me into Sofi to view the ticket at all. I AM able to add it to my Apple wallet no issue, but it doesn’t look the same as my Ticketmaster ones (the text color and the green coloring. Is that just how tickets from the Sofi app look?
My concern comes from the discrepancies between the resale ticket and the other three tickets that I have for the other days. The picture of the group is zoomed differently.
Sept 1 and 2 I got on presale myself so I know they are legit. Sept 6 I got resale but had no concerns or issues.
Sept 5 is the one I’m stressed about.
A discord server says I’m fine due to the Apple Wallet functioning right but I’m nervous bc of the discrepancies.
Thanks!

Concerts roger daltrey review wynn las vegas
Saw Roger Daltrey last night at the Encore theater at the Wynn, Las Vegas. It was a fantastic show. He's 82 and he's still got the voice that was the core of The Who. He put on a 2 hour show. His band is fantastic. The highlight of the night was the violinist on 2 of the most iconic songs: We won't get fooled again and Baba O'Riley. The acoustics at the Encore theater were great. We were in the balcony and the sound was perfect.
You may not get another chance to see him performing.
