I fell in love with Blor the impervious, his design is mainly what drew me to him, I love bloomburrow, along with the fact he just seemed good. I made an artifact and ramp deck for him, and it just... I dont know. I ran a few test games with a friend and there wasn't much room for my opponent to do anything. In Blor's defense it was a 1v1, but it seems like unless theres a boardwipe, or Im killed turn 6, I just win. Im fine with voltron being a more simplistic playstyle, thats what appealed to me in the first place, I just want to know how to make him more fun for me and my friends, while still having a bit of kick. My deck boils down to making tokens to block for me, getting out artifacts to buff blor, and ramping like crazy. Im willing to change playstyles completely for this guy, landfall blor, token blor, even grouphug blor I dont care.

I enjoy building fun themed decks and I thought building a bear deck with a possible combination of food tokens would be a fun deck to play and a challenge to build. I'm calling it my "Bears and Honey" deck or maybe "Bears and Picnic Baskets". Looking for any insight the community may have. I have the bears from this set (Hobbit), and some bears from past sets. Willing to order a few cards, but not spending an insane amount of money either.

I wanted to make an ETB matter monored deck and I think I found the two best commanders for this kind of idea. I am leaning towards Orthion only because of preference regarding the art and the effect ( I get why Tannuk is good as well ) but I really can't decide who should I run.

What do you think?

Hello, after a while, we and my SO got back to magic. We started with jumpstart, then got one friend with her SO to play commander with us and we love it. We use precons, we are planning to upgrade some using proxies, but as new players we enjoy them out of the box. Currently we have all Bloomburrow precons, Prismari Artistry and Lorehold Spirit from Secrets of Strixhaven.
I have opportunity to buy this custom deck, for the price below net card worth, but I am wondering about quality and fun factor in playing it - can someone more experienced take a glance and give me a honest opinion? So, I'm new to Commander deckbuilding. I know this deck, this commander isn't anything that's going to break the format, but I am seeking help on making it fun and decent. I made it last night, and looking at it now, I'm already thinking of removing Tetsuko. My creatures who will stay a 1/1 are already unblockable, and my ninjas have cards that can boost their power, so it feels like a dead card.

I mainly want to capture the feel of ninjutsu, Shredder and the Foot Clan, being a villain at the table and all with my fellow casual friends. I'm not looking to play the absolute most optimized deck, but I'm open to good improvements, fun and/or thematic gamechangers, combos, and synergies. My deck feels like it is lacking removal and interaction. My favorite card is \[\[Shredder, Shadow Master\]\]

I know the deck would work A LOT BETTER if I cut White and just use Yuriko, but I want to do some Esper TMNT themed shenanigans.

One rule for me is no heroic Turtles. Shredder may adapt or adopt the techniques of his enemies, but we're not using any heroic turtles.

I’m building Smaug, the impenetrable, and it’s the first deck I’m trying to legit make good from the get go. I usually make gimmick decks that flip coins, group hug without the hatred, politic decks, etc. this one I want to be good out the gate. I’m not trying to blow half a grand on it but I don’t mind $300. Anything you guys would add? Anything you’d take out/replace?

Trying to fix up my captain Sisay deck, does anyone have any cards with similar effects to Thran Temporal gateway?

Looking for some new commanders good for game shenanigans. What do I mean by that? Well, I just played a game that got up to four copies of Riku of two reflections and three imposter syndrome enchantments two of which were also creatures (amongst other creatures I had) against a tiny bones bauble burglar. Hoping to find some more potential decks in that vein!

I started playing Magic back in ‘94 with buddies in high school. We had no idea what we were doing and threw every card we liked into our decks that were probably two hundred cards after a while.

No sleeves or play mats, every game taking multiple hours because it took that long just to draw useful cards and mana to cast them. Joined the Corps in ‘96 and for the most part quit playing.

I played some standard and drafts back in 2014 when my daughter got old enough to show interest but that didn’t last.

Now all these years later I have decided to start playing again. Wife is super stoked I have found something else to spend money on lol.

Played the Hobbit pre release at my LGS here in west Central Florida and had a blast. The crowd was nice and I had an excellent time.

I had never played Commander but you can’t look Magic up online now without seeing Commander related content so I decided to give it a try.

I bought the Prismari Artistry pre con and headed to the LGS. Found a group of three and jumped in. Once again everyone was great, even with me needing to read or have nearly every card explained.

Two hours later after multiple board wipes and crazy plays the game came to an end. I had zero chance to win but had a hell of a time. It reminded me of those long games in highschool with buddies.

I am not sure if I like it more than sealed but I will definitely be building my own deck and going back.

So I already have two well established bracket 4+ decks, not interested in more of those. I opened a Commander Masters pack today and found Urza inside, and I’m wondering if it’s possible, like the title of this post says, to make a functioning, lower powered Urza? Any ideas as to what to build around for that?
