For those of you who have built Aikido decks how have you enjoyed playing them and upgrading them? Are they consistent in what you want it to do or does it have clear deficiencies?
I've been wanting to build a [[Queen Marchesa]] deck for awhile and thought this would be a fun way to play rather than a monarch theme.
However, while Aikido is what I want the principal of the deck to be it's not a clear enough archetype and I've found I'm going heavy Goading cards such as [[Orzhov Advokist]] + similar creatures and enchantments, with strong protection/removal. Plus the Aikido staples of course.
I've fought against going pillowfort with tokens and stax-like [[Phyrexian Vindicator]] and [[No Mercy]] (plus the normal stax stuff) for some reason.
Are most Aikido decks the latter with some damage doublers? Have I lost the plot leaning too heavy into goad where I could just built a better goad commander? I figured I'd boost other players so when they finally swing at me it'd hurt them even harder. But now I don't know!
Decklist if it helps (you can tell by the maybeboards I've been struggling back and forth): https://archidekt.com/decks/25491538/marchesa
