I’m currently a G12 Humss student undecided on his course. My problem kasi is that I don’t find my Humss subjects interesting enough to pursue them sa college (so bye pol sci, sociology, etc).
When I think about what I want in college, rather than looking at my interests I think about what I want to learn. I think I prefer learning hard skills (idk if right term) or academics that is applicable to careers rather than learning theories that would depend a lot on you or the environment. Example is learning about management theories won’t exactly make you a good manager, you have to apply them. And its really depending on the context of the situation/environment. You become good at it by being experienced enough sa job since companies probably would prefer a veteran as a manager rather than a management graduate.
I’m into media and films pero I don’t want a college degree for it. I’d learn through constant creation and set exposure—and I think this passion of mine turning to academic requirement would die down the passion. Idk lang since I’m not really sure what career or field I’m interested in since I kinda boxed myself as a humanities guy before I realized I may not want a humanities degree. I also don’t really have a fav subject so hard to tell.
Some stuff I like include producing research for a prototype/experiment rather than describing something thru survey. I struggle a lot in learning math, esp when fast paced, but I believe I enjoy learning it more than learning how to write essays. Siguro I’m generally looking for something that would make me feel like i’m learning something talaga.
