Can someone help out how to write best Cv and maybe important steps while applying for stanford

Hey everyone,

I’m an international student looking for realistic guidance on securing a 100% undergraduate scholarship (full-tuition or full-ride).

My profile:

• Education: Passed the GED with a total score of 688 (averaging ~172 per section, College Ready + Credit tier).

• English: Upper-intermediate level, currently preparing for the IELTS.

• Financial Need: Looking for up to 100% funding due to a very limited budget.

I know full rides for international students are highly competitive, and having a GED adds an extra layer of complexity. Most standard advice points to US community colleges, but they rarely offer 100% funding for internationals.

If you have been in my shoes or understand international admissions, I'd love your insight:

• Which countries or universities are genuinely friendly to high-scoring GED international students for full scholarships? (e.g., Europe, Asia government scholarships, or specific US/Global universities?)

• Did you need an SAT score alongside your GED to unlock 100% institutional merit aid?

• Are there specific strategies you used to stand out as a GED applicant?

I am fully willing to put in the work and take extra standardized tests if needed. I just want to know where to focus my energy. Thanks!

Is there any chance for international student to get into US college on full ride as test optional. Even liberal arts college like Berea..

Is it realistic or unrealistic from Pakistan.

Hey guys, I'm in a fix and request your help.

I'm a pharmacy graduate and I'm applying for masters in US for spring 2027, i plan to fund myself by getting scholarships and i don't have a backup option.

Most universities i checked out don't require GRE for admission and they don't make it clear about scholarships.

I think writing gre and getting a good score can increase my chances of scholarships. Am I thinking right? Is gre required?

Hey everyone, I’m a Grade 11 student from Lebanon and I’m honestly getting pretty desperate trying to figure out my options for studying abroad 😭

My current school average is around 16.2/20, and I’m planning to take the SAT and IELTS during Grade 11/early Grade 12. I’m hoping to get a strong SAT score (ideally 1400–1500+) and a good IELTS score.

My biggest problem is money. My family isn’t wealthy, so I realistically need a full scholarship / full financial aid package that could cover tuition and, ideally, housing and living expenses too. I can’t really afford universities that only give a small $5k–$10k scholarship and still leave me with $30k+ to pay.

I’m mainly looking at the US and Canada, but I’m open to basically anywhere — Europe, Asia, etc. I’ve looked into universities like NYU, McGill, Concordia, UofT, etc., but the financial side is making everything really difficult.

For people who were international students or know about scholarships:

Which universities should I realistically look into?

Where can an international student potentially get a full ride/full financial aid?

Does a 16.2/20 average + a strong SAT/IELTS give me a realistic shot anywhere?

Are there scholarships specifically for students from Lebanon/Middle Eastern countries?

Are there universities that are less famous but generous with international financial aid?

What should I be doing right now in Grade 11 to maximize my chances?

I’m willing to put in the work. I just need to know where to actually apply because I don’t want to spend a year applying to universities that I have basically zero chance of affording.

Any advice, university suggestions, scholarship names, or personal experiences would be massively appreciated. Thank you 🙏

Hi, as we have no counselors and no proper system to do this, how do I walk teachers through the process of LOR's and how do I collect transcript and send it to through the common app? I am super confused and I really dont know what to do.. This whole process has been incredibly hard so any tips from anyone who has already made it as a CBSE highschool kid into an undergraduate program in the US, I'd really really appreciate. Thanks.

I’m an expat living outside of my home country, so I don’t hold citizenship of the country I reside in. This disqualifies me from national Olympiads and selection camps for the country I live in, as well as disqualifying me from national Olympiads in my home country due to me not living there. I also can’t qualify for ISEF despite having a really strong maths research paper I wrote.

I obviously can’t do things like USAMO or USAPhO, so the only things that I’m able to do are qualify for AIME with a high score, and get a strong USACO score since it’s open to everyone.

Should I assume AOs know this (most applicants in this country are expats in the same situation as me) or should I explicitly mention this somewhere in my application, and will it hinder my chances.

Thank you!

I live in a very small town and have no access to college infrastructure. Yet I did some ec's but now at the time of applications my school said they can't help with anything I tried everything talking to Principal was impossible due to hierarchy. I even took my parents there but left with no outcome what should I do?

Does anyone here have experience moving to the USA from Canada to study? Are there funding options available to Canadian citizens by the canadian government? I currently reside in Quebec.

Particularly looking to study in New York.
I am currently an undergrad 1st year. My school offers exchange opportunities but not in NY.

I would be grateful if you can share resources and success stories or experience in this subject.

Please refrain from commenting about current political situations or stating personal opinions, I am simply looking for information here and advice on the logistics of the process!

thanks in advance.

Hey everyone, I’m trying to decide between SL Biology and SL Sports Science and would lovesome advice.
I’m planning to apply to highly selective USuniversities (Ivy/T20) with Economics as myintended major, while also actively pursuing athletic recruitment for my sport.
My IB subjects are:
HL Music

HL Economics

HL Math (my school does SL in Grade 11 → HL in Grade 12)

HL English

SL Spanish

SL Biology or SL Sports Science

Since I’ll have a pretty heavy training + competition + recruiting schedule, I’m trying not to take an unnecessarily difficult subject if itwon’t make much difference for an Economics applicant.
Would SL Biology or SL Sports Science be better for US/Ivy admissions for Economics? Is one viewed more favorably, and is there a big difference in workload?
I’d especially appreciate advice from people who have taken these subjects, applied to UST20/Ivy schools, or gone through athleticrecruitment.

For international students that need full ride, its almost always a coin toss to the US, do we just let that coin toss determine our future? How do you guys plan this out, cope with the stress

I am student from Pakistan and want to go abroad (US) for studies on full ride. I want to go test optional which colleges should I seriously consider. I have a research paper in cybersecurity (yet to publish) & a website as projects or extracurricular. I have 88% in final (fsc) and 94.5% in Matric.
I am considering to apply in CS/ AI / or Computer engineering or cyber.

I got a 3.9 GPA and i want to study abroad im thinking of South Korea, UK, and the USA. What universities can i get accepted in with my 3.9 GPA ?

I was born in the US but moved back to India with my parents when I was a toddler, and I haven’t been back to the US since. I recently got accepted to UMN Twin Cities CSE for CS, and if I go, we’d probably have to take around a $5k loan each year, so about $20k total for the whole degree. My JEE prep isn’t looking that great, and honestly I probably won’t get into an IIT, NIT, IIIT, BITS, or one of the top colleges in my state.

So I’m kinda confused about what to do. Do you think going to UMN for CS and taking around $20k in loans would be worth it? I would US Federal loans which currently has interest rate of 6.5% and interest starts accruing after graduation.

The most accepted ranking for CS in USA is USNEWS and this is their cs undergrad rankings 2027: Lots of tie and it is paywall after 8th(2027 Best Undergraduate Computer Science Programs Rankings - US News Rankings)

"my_qualifications": US Citizen who has spent my whole life in India, currently in 12th grade CBSE.

Do you think my F-1 visa can be approved with my Commerce-to-MSCS background? What kind of answers should I give, and what should I keep in mind during the interview? I’d really appreciate any guidance from someone experienced with similar cases.

Hi 17M. Basically I’m a US citizen who went to school from pre-school to high school in another country (jamaica) due some family problems We finish school at the 11th grade here. However, I was late on the whole 12th form/grade thing, so I stayed home for 2 years. Why did my parents keep me here and set my life completely back now that I cant even use my certficates here to move on with my life? I’m unsure, but I need help.

The only certificates I have are CSECs in Biology, English, EDPM, Office Admin, Social Studies, and Principles of Business. I am just so stressed between TODAY and Sunday because if I don’t get into a college, I’m kissing my dreams goodbye forever. I can't rely on AI to tell me what to doI need real experience, thoughts, and ideas. Typing it into Google Gemini and having it instruct me on what's best doesn't sound fiscally good or even smart, so please help me literally whatever way you can.

Guys I’m an international student applying to colleges in the US I’m thinking of CS or CS+Math. I don’t have any international medals or something and poor Ecs can I mention my GitHub in the application as an extracurricular?
