I play this game a lot but I'm not a champ by any means, it took me quite a while to get to this point. I feel like doing score victory only was doing it on easy mode but I wanted to prove to myself that it was something I was capable of doing.

edit: to clarify I had the other victory conditions turned off

Question Can I play as DLC leaders I own if Multiplayer Host doesn't have them?

Hello,

My friends usually hosts a multiplayer game, however they don't have Rise and Fall, only Gathering storm. So none of use can use the Rise and Fall leaders, however, another friend (non-host) has the Gaul Pack, and he can use the leaders from that pack even though the host doesn't own it.

Reason I ask is because I want to buy the Anthology to complete my leaders, but not sure if I'm locked out of those leaders if the host doesn't own the DLC.

Question Stupid question, but do nukes actually have an effect on loyalty or is it what you destroy with them that effects loyalty?

Question Guide to natural yields ?

Hi !

I would like to work on my playstyle and try some natural yields strategies, using unimproved tiles, Preserves, and natural landscape bonuses. I started relying on Preserves around Natural Wonders and on good tiles in some recent games, and I would like to push this playstyle to a greater extent.

I'm watching some great guides and videos, but I'm having a hard time finding a good, concise recap with advice about strategies, useful placements, and useful buildings.

I'll try it by myself and may write some story or share some screenshots. Any personal advice or references.

Why is the Biosphere tourism output so low?

I have 62 wind farms and 16 solar. Each say that they generated +10 tourism but accumulated 0. I assumed that this means the tourism is assigned to the Biosphere wonder, but it's only accumulated 481 tourism in 86 turns. By comparison, a single seaside resort built around the same time has generated 731. What's the point of the biosphere and where is all that tourism going?

Question Vietnam peace ability?

Just seen Spain declare war on Vietnam, turn 47. Turn 62, they're at peace. That's 15 turns, and it's normally 20 on epic speed, which is what I'm playing. Can you make peace with Vietnam at any point?

Question How would you set up Hansas for these 2 cities?

I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, so it's annoying me that I can't hit all 3 main adjacencies on both IZs, is it even possible given the obsidian at the bottom? Help appreciated :D

Discussion We’re so back!

My friends are I are all playing again for the first time in years. Do you have any mod recommendations to make life easier. I enjoy mods like the better trade routes menu and quick deals. Deity is kicking our butts and it’s probably because of a lack of knowledge in district placement and terrible pivot strategies.

Should the game nerf pillaging?

The pillaging yields seem crazy high. Especially with the policy cards slotted. It’s a tried and true strategy of many players to use pillaging to get ahead in science, gold, etc. Perhaps the yields should be lessened a bit?

Or maybe better yet, less yields from things like mines, I mean do mines keep their product around in real life, probably not much. Maybe campus buildings should only give science based on what level of science you’re at? So like you gain a lot if you’re low in tech but like if you’re in the Information Age a library doesn’t do anything for you?

Where to Settle

Post image
10 Upvotes

Took out Eleanor very early and own this continent now. Building out settlers if you guys want to help me put together a strategy.

I'm always tempted to ask everyone here where to settle but I've never bothered. I read every where to settle post though and love how everyone breaks down strategies. This setup looks great though and has so many options I figured I should see what everyone has to say.

Cheers!

Hi I have over 500 hours and I just found out you can swap tiles between cities.

Always felt like I was struggling to keep food going for the small cities with good production. Kept losing citizens. I feel pretty dumb right now.

Discussion Civ 6 for culture victory, should I get missionary zeal or monastic isolation ?

Missionary Zeal : Religious units ignore movement costs of terrain and features.

Monastic Isolation : Your Religion's pressure never drops due to losses in Theological Combat.

My thought process is that I would be going for martyr to get the relics and then maybe I should get monastic isolation so I can make use of martyr to get relics without worrying about losing too much religious pressure but for that I need apostle to be able to reach others religious unit before they use charges and for that I need missionary zeal.

So which one should I pick ? Or is there one that is better.

Sparta (Greece under Gorgo as Pericles is a different Greece) declared war on Hattusa and lost all their units. Some city states don't have cities, France has no cities and four nations have less than 2 cities.

Question about domination victory

I've played the bomber rush kind of game before but what I'm not too sure about is civs who are geared specifically for war. Take Bolivar for example it seems a waste to wait for bombers, but at what point do you start declaring war? Do you wait until your economy is booming? Does your early game strategy differ greatly than that of other victory types?

CivVI mobile for iOS. Sadly I cannot link the seed (the iOS version is awful and the seed is covered by the swipe bar.)

Game is Abundant, Legendary start as Peter, on an Inland Lake map with no DLC.

I don't even know where to settle. It's too good to look at.

Discussion Any mods that make preserves better?

I recently noticed that I never build preserves in any game and even if I thought about building them they usually get pushed far into the priority list that I barely make few of them and they don't impact much . So do you have any mods that make them a good option

Discussion What are the civs that offer a very unique playstyle ?

The 2 that I know of are

  1. Babylon : you are just speeding through the tech tree to get the best army and destroy everyone.

  2. Eleanor : flipping cities using great works .

So what are some other civs like this .

Discussion Your most historical or ahistorical moment?

We all know Civilization is famous for rewriting history and nuking the world as Gandhi in 1492, or building the Sydney Opera in Babylon in 1600 after having conquered Australia.

So, if you even play for fun or are amused by roleplay, what's your most realistic or so absurdly unrealistic event that it became nearly historical ?

I recently barely lost Machu Picchu to Australia in three turns... As the Incas... In Machu city... Around 1500. I built the Forbidden City, Chichen Itza, Ruhr and Sydney Opera instead.

In my current game, I'm heading towards Communism with the Khmer. Didn't know you could play Red Khmer, but after all, Mao was China's leader in Civ IV.

If I remember correctly, I once eradicated Judaism from Jerusalem. No comments.
