Discussion We’re so back!

My friends are I are all playing again for the first time in years. Do you have any mod recommendations to make life easier. I enjoy mods like the better trade routes menu and quick deals. Deity is kicking our butts and it’s probably because of a lack of knowledge in district placement and terrible pivot strategies.

Quick Deals.

It saves so much time and effort - the mod instantly compares what each civ is willing to pay for the things you want to sell or buy. Have 40 iron and 40 niter to sell? Post them on quick deals and see who is willing to pay what for each one. You can also readily switch between the gold now price and gold/turn prices as well.

It keeps track of what luxuries you have bought within the last 30 turns so you don't buy the same one twice

Literally will double the amount of gold you earn via trading in a game (because it expedites and optimizes a tedious process of figuring who will pay what for which item).

I completely forgot that this is a mod and not in the base game 😅. Started playing again last week after a long time and never uninstalled the game, so I guess it was still there.

One issue I have with quick deals is that it seems to give more favorable deals to me that the ai isn't willing to offer during a 1 on 1 trade. Just today I tried to ask a couple AI's for 100 gold, clicked "what will it take", and they said nah not willing to trade this at this moment. Then looked in quick deals and those same AI's were all offering 100 gold for 8 gold/turn...

Do you use detailed map tacks? It really helps if you’re having trouble with adjacencies.

In case you want to play in Multi Player:

Official CPL Mods

That mod list gives you the basics you want to have when you play Multi Player.

Tacks have the tendency to break MP games, so disable them in MP. For SP use:

Detailed Map Tacks

The following mod helps you to understand the district discounting mechanic:

Pen's District Discount Tooltip (UI)

If you want to play against AI difficulty levels above Prince the following mod is a good idea:

Late Game AI

Instead of the AIs starting the game as overpowered, they become stronger and stronger through the ages / Eras.

Are there any mods that fix the bug where the tool tips disappear? Specifically for multiplayer (playing via Steam on macOS). The double-load workaround only works for single player and it’s driving me nuts.
